Butterfly Kisses

Deze maand zijn m'n zus en haar man 12,5 jaar getrouwd en daar hoort een kaartje bij. Heb gekozen voor het feestelijke papier van The Scrapcake en de lieve afbeelding van die twee schattige engeltjes heb ik hier gevonden. Heb ingekleurd met Distress Inkt en Dovecraft Chalks. Bij een goed huwelijk voel je nog steeds vlindertjes, dus vandaar dat die hier volop rond fladderen, ze zijn uitgestanst met stanzen van Joy Craft. Op naar de 25 jaar!
This month my sister and her husband have been married for 12,5 years, so that's call for a celebration and a card. I chose the festive papers of The Scrapcake and found this darling image of the two caring cherubs right here. I used Distress Inks and Dovecraft Chalks to colour up my image. Good marriages are known for their butterfly kisses and feelings of butterflies, so they had to be part of my card. They're flying around in abundance (and were cut out with Joy Craft dies). Here's to the next anniversary!

I {heart} you - for My Crafty Heart DT

Ik was meteen wég van dit prachtige papier van My Mind's Eye (Paris&Co) en heb er zojuist iets mee gemaakt voor mijn mannetje. Gewoon, zomaar, omdat-ie zo lief is! Ik heb een hartvormig doosje beplakt met dit papier en verder versierd met één van die schitterende bloemen van My Crafty Heart. De stempel van de man is van Scrollswork, verder heb ik stempels gebruikt van Inkadinkado en Stampinback. De rozenblaadjes zijn gemaakt met een pons van Nellie Snellen. De brieven heb ik een paar keer gestempeld en in 3D opgeplakt. In het doosje weer diverse bestempelde hartjes aan een kettinkje. Die waardebon heeft m'n man trouwens meteen een paar keer verzilverd ;-)

I immediately fell in love with this gorgeous paper of My Mind's Eye (Paris&Co) and just finished this gift for my DH. For no particular reason, simply because he's the best! I altered a heart shaped box with MME's papers and added one of those stunningly beautiful resin flowers of My Crafty Heart. The stamps are a.o. from Scrollswork, Inkadinkado and Stampinback. The rose leaves were made with one of Nellie Snellen's punches. I stamped the letters a couple of times and turned them into a 3D image. Inside the box are a couple of stamped hearts on a small chain. By the way, the coupon "Good for a kiss anytime" has already been exchanged a couple of times ;-)

Chinese New Year

Maandag wordt het Chinees Nieuwjaar gevierd, het jaar van de draak. Benieuwd wat het allemaal weer gaat brengen! Net zoals vorig jaar, heb ik iets gemaakt in het teken van het Chinees Nieuwjaar, dit keer een muurhanger. De frames heb ik uit goudkleurig karton gestanst (Spellbinders Fleur de Lys Squares), de kleurplaat van het Chinese mangameisje heb ik gevonden op Deviantart en ingekleurd met Derwent Coloursoft potloden. De Chinese tekst zou "jaar van de draak" moeten betekenen en heb ik op het internet gevonden, geprint op wit papier en beinkt met Distress Inkt Barn Door. De buddha is een bedel die ik er voor goed geluk aan heb gehangen. De gouden rozenblaadjes zijn gemaakt met de Nellie Snellen pons en de rode flos komt uit mijn verzameling.
Coming Monday lots of people are going to celebrate the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Dragon. Let's see what this year will bring us! Same as last year I made something for CNY, this time it's a wall hanging. I die cut the frames from gold coloured cardstock (Spellbinders Fleur de Lys Squares), I found the colouring page of the Chinese anime girl on Deviantart and coloured her with my Derwent Coloursoft pencils. The Chinese text says "Year of the Dragon" (if I'm correct) and was found on the internet, printed on white paper and distressed with Barn Door. The buddha is a charm that I added for good luck. I made the golden rose leaves with the Nellie Snellen punch and the red tassel is from my collection of odds and ends.

From Holland with love

Voor een hele goede (buitenlandse) vriendin van me heb ik deze oerhollandse kaart gemaakt. Uiteraard in onze nationale driekleur ;-) Het meisje vond ik hier, heb haar met Derwent Coloursoft potloden ingekleurd en een beetje een Volendams uiterlijk proberen mee te geven. De bloemen zijn gemaakt met de retroponsen en verder heb ik stanzen van Marianne Design and Crealies gebruikt. Speculaas is natuurlijk toch wel iets typisch nederlands en ik zag deze bakvorm (in de vorm van een molen), dus die heb ik meegestuurd, kan m'n vriendin zelf aan het bakken en genieten van de lekkere geur in haar keuken!
For a really close (foreign) friend of mine I made this Dutch card. Of course in our national colours, red, white, blue ;-) I found the girl here, coloured her with Derwent Coloursoft pencils and tried to give her the "Volendam feel". I made the flowers with retro punches, furthermore I used dies from Marianne Design and Crealies. Spiced brown biscuits are a typically Dutch treat and when I found this wooden baking mould (in the shape of a Dutch windmill) I just had to include it in my parcel so that my friend can enjoy the lovely smell while baking the biscuits in her kitchen!

Ik was gistermiddag heerlijk aan het lezen in het boek "The Mysterious Death of Miss Austen" van Lindsay Ashford toen ik de inspiratie kreeg om deze kaart te maken, ben 's avonds lekker m'n freubelhok ingekropen. Ik heb heel wat silhouettes geknipt met m'n pergamanoschaartje, dus ook deze afbeeldingen die ik overigens op internet heb gevonden. Google maar eens op "silhouetten", dan krijg je de prachtigste resultaten! Het is een heel priegelwerkje maar zó leuk om te doen!
Yesterday afternoon I enjoyed reading "The Mysterious Death of Miss Austen", written by Lindsay Ashford. Her story inspired me to make this card, so in the evening I crept into my craft den. I cut quite a few silhouettes over the years using my pergamano scissors, including these images that I found on the internet. If you google "silhouettes" you will get a whole list of gorgeous images! It's quite a lot of fussy cutting but so much fun!

Man's Best Friend

Vandaag is een oom van me jarig, hij en m'n tante hebben altijd honden gehad, veel golden retrievers met name. Mochten jullie nu denken dat hij een stuk chagrijn is vanwege deze hondenkop, niets is minder waar, want hij heeft een buitengewoon goed gevoel voor humor, dus hij zal deze hond ook wel weten te waarderen (hoop ik ;-) Heb een hele eenvoudige trapkaart gemaakt en hiervoor deze afbeeldingen gebruikt (weet helaas niet meer waar ik deze heb gevonden, ze stonden op een hele oude cd-rom van enkele jaren geleden). In Photoshop bewerkt en mijn afbeelding was klaar.
Today one of my uncles is celebrating his birthday; he and my aunt have always had dogs, as long as I can remember, mainly golden retrievers. Please don't think he's a bit of a bully (because of the dog's face I used), for he has a great sense of humour, so he'll appreciate this card, too (I hope ;-) I've made a supersimple step card and used these images (unfortunately I don't know where I found these, they were filed on an old cd-rom of some years ago). I edited them in Photoshop and my final image was ready:

Het duurt nog maar een paar dagen en dan is het zover: dan opent de ongelooflijk talentvolle Teresa haar online scrapbookwinkel "My Crafty Heart"! Op 14 januari a.s. is het zover en kunnen jullie o.a. haar schitterende digi-stempels aanschaffen! Eén van die digi-stempels heb ik hier gebruikt, ze heet MCH Fairy en maakt deel uit van het logo van My Crafty Heart . Omdat we een onwijs leuk team hebben, heb ik me vanaf meet af aan "thuis" gevoeld dus was het ook niet meer dan vanzelfsprekend dat ik dit elfje in haar eigen huisje heb geplaatst :-) In ons MCH-honk heerst een superaangename sfeer waar ieder DT-lid haar eigen ding kan doen, net als thuis dus! Ik vind het geweldig om van dit team deel uit te mogen maken. We kunnen geen betere gastvrouw hebben dan Teresa! Deze is dan ook speciaal voor haar, om haar succes toe te wensen met haar webwinkel. Op deze laatste dag van het jaar wil ik jullie allemaal nogmaals heel hartelijk bedanken voor al jullie trouwe bezoekjes, leuke, humoristische en gezellige commentaar en aangename gezelschap. Voor sommigen is het afgelopen jaar niet zo geweldig geweest, voor anderen was het een topjaar. Mijn wens voor jullie: 2012 staat voor de deur, vergeet niet dat het leven kort is, doe wat je hart je ingeeft, vergeef elkaar, hou oprecht van een ander, lach je te barsten, en zorg ervoor dat je nooit spijt krijgt van iets dat je doet.

When I saw this paper doll on the blog of EK Duncan, I immediately knew what I wanted to make for New Year's Eve. Thanks again for this wonderful image! This hourglass figure reminded me of time slipping away. Vandaag laat ik nog wat verjaardagskaarten zien die ik heb gemaakt. De meesten van jullie weten inmiddels wel dat ik bepaald niet weg ben van Tilda, daar word je zowat onder bedolven! Maar goed, sommigen vinden die plaatjes super, onder wie mijn tante die een paar dagen geleden jarig was ;-) Deze was voor haar, een soort schaduwkaart met sneeuw erin. Ik weet dat ze er heel blij mee was, dus ja, dan is 't goed hè ;-)
Today I'm going to show a couple of birthday cards that I made recently. Most of you know that I'm not very partial to Tilda, they're nearly ruling the blogging world! But hey, some really adore these images, my aunt is one of them, she celebrated her birthday a couple of days ago. So this shadowbox card is for her, some snow inside, I cut the snowflake from a shape I snatched off the internet. I know she was so pleased to get this card and that's all that matters to me ;-)

En hier is de laatste kerstpost van het jaar waar ik erg blij mee was. Nogmaals allemaal heel hartelijk dank voor al die prachtige zelfgemaakte kaarten, stuk voor stuk juweeltjes waar ik nog steeds van aan het genieten ben! Dikke kus!

Vandaag wil ik graag een paar dingen met jullie delen, het allereerste is dat mijn dierbare vriendin Teresa van My Crafty Heart de afgelopen maanden heel erg druk in de weer is geweest om een online scrapbookwinkel te openen en eindelijk is het dan zover! Op zaterdag 14 januari a.s. wordt de winkel officieel geopend!!
Teresa heeft alle items zelf met zorg uitgekozen; papierlijnen van Basic Grey, My Mind's Eye, Prima, Authentique, Kaisercraft zijn enkele topmerken die je straks in haar winkel kunt vinden. Prachtige bloemen en embellishments van Prima, Jenny Bowlin, Kaisercraft en Hero Arts, inkt en glitter van Ranger & Tim Holtz, stanzen van Memory Box en daarnaast is er ook nog een prachtige lijn speciale charms. Kom straks zéker een kijkje nemen als het zover is!

Today I'd like to share a couple of things with you, first some exciting news! My dear friend Teresa of My Crafty Heart has been getting ready these past few months to open her own online papercrafting store! It will be called My Crafty Heart and will go live on Saturday 14th January!

Teresa handpicked all her items carefully and has made sure all our favourites are included. Deze is voor jullie, mijn blogvriendinnen, gewoon omdat jullie m'n blog altijd zo trouw komen bezoeken en omdat we allemaal wel een beschermengeltje kunnen gebruiken. Voor deze kaart heb ik kraftpapier genomen en eerst bestempeld met de prachtige doily stamp die ik onlangs bij Chantal heb gewonnen (van SU) en diverse sneeuwvlokstempeltjes. Daarna geembossed met Ranger Embossing Puffs White. De afbeelding van de engeltjes is een poezieplaatje van de Action, het bloemetje is gemaakt van seam binding.

This one's for you, my blog buddies, I really appreciate your visits, thank you so much. And I think we could all do with a guardian angel... For this card I used kraft paper and stamped the doily (which I recently won at Chantal, from SU) and miscellaneous snowflake stamps. I then embossed them with Ranger Embossing Puffs White. Reizen is altijd al een favoriete bezigheid geweest van mij en mijn man en toen ik deze blog tegenkwam, was het idee voor een kerstkaart gauw geboren. Voor onze reislustige familie en vrienden heb ik deze tickets gemaakt met de volgende tekst erop:

Het inchecken van de vlucht voor 2012 is aangekondigd. Jullie tussenlandingen zijn: geluk, vriendschap, gezondheid en liefde. De vlucht duurt 12 maanden. Gelieve jullie bij gate A12 aan te melden. Goede reis!

Travelling has always been a favourite pastime of my husband and I and when I saw this blog, the idea of a Christmas card was born. For our family and friends who love to travel, too, I made these tickets bearing the following text on the back of the ticket:

Santa's Day Off

Voor mijn tweede project voor Visions of Sugarplums heb ik gekozen voor het vintagesfeertje. Kijk, de kerstman is superdruk met het inpakken van cadeautjes e.d., maar ook hij vindt het heerlijk om weer thuis te komen en van een goed boek te genieten. En wat heeft hij daarbij nodig? Een paar lekkere huissloffen! (ja Lean, nu komt Zalando écht heel erg dichtbij hè, ha ha ha!). Ik heb als basis een stuk karton genomen en hierop m'n eigen pantoffels afgetekend, hierop fiberfill geplakt en daarna pas het fluweel. Versierd met kant, tja, misschien zijn ze eigenlijk wel een beetje te vrouwelijk geworden bij nader inzien, maar goed, dan kan Mrs. Santa ze ook aan ;-) De brad is gemaakt met de Papermania Brad Maker (cadeautje van m'n schoonzus voor m'n verjaardag). De afbeelding die ik heb gebruikt, staat hieronder.
For my second project for Visions of Sugarplums I've chosen a vintage theme again. You see, Santa is super busy packing all your presents and such, but he, too, loves to come home and enjoy a good book. And what does he need? A couple of nice slippers! I made the base of my slippers with thick carton and copied my own slippers, cut them out and glued some fiberfill on top; next came the velvet. Adorned them with lace, oh well, they did turn out quite feminine on second look but then at least Mrs. Santa gets to wear them too ;-) I made the brad with the Papermania Brad Maker (which was a gift for my birthday from my sister-in-law). I used this image:

Dit is mijn bijdrage voor vandaag:
Ik heb wat stempels genomen en op tissuepapier gestempeld, de afbeeldingen zorgvuldig uitgeknipt, op de kaars geplaatst en vervolgens het geheel in bakpapier gewikkeld. Daarna m'n heating tool gepakt en voorzichtig de afbeelding in de kaars 'versmolten'. Wees hier wel voorzichtig mee, niet te lang verhitten anders gaat je kaars ook aan het smelten ;-)
Here's my first entry:

I took out some of my stamps and started stamping on tissue paper, carefully cut out the images, placed them onto my candle and wrapped it into baking paper (you can also use wax paper). I then took my heating tool and gently 'melted' the image into the candle. Be careful though, don't overheat it, otherwise your candle will start to melt, too :-)

Kon er geen weerstand aan bieden, ik had gewoon zin om deze oude schaatsen een beetje te pimpen met wat kant en bloemen - Just couldn't resist altering these old ice skates, too, just added some lace and a couple of flowers:

Ik heb stempels van verschillende merken gebruikt - I used several stamps from all kinds of brands:

Het windlicht heb ik verder aangekleed met kant en de pareltjes en charm zijn erop genaaid - I dressed the glass with lace and sewed the pearls and charm onto the lace:

Maar ik heb ook deze vintage Kerstadvertentie gebruikt, gewoon printen op tissuepapier; zowel printen als stempelen geven hetzelfde effect - But I also used this vintage Christmas ad, just print your image on tissue paper, stamping or printing both give the same effect:

Christmas with Jane Austen

Degenen die mijn blog al enige tijd volgen, weten dat ik een enorme Jane Austen fan ben. Er zijn pas wat nieuwe boeken uitgekomen, "The Mysterious Death of Miss Austen" (Lindsay Ashford) en "Death comes to Pemberley" (P.D. James). Ik hou van crimi's én van Jane Austen, dus ja, er liggen hier weer wat boeken op me te wachten! En zo kwam ik bij mijn kerstsok uit, ik vroeg me af hoe Jane haar Kerst zou hebben gevierd en heb daar maar een eigen draai aan gegeven. Van satijn een kerstsok geknipt en deze versierd met kant, de bloemen zijn ook weer zelf gemaakt volgens deze techniek. De afbeelding komt uit één van mijn boeken, heb deze eerst ingescand, op transferpapier uitgeprint en vervolgens op een stukje katoen gestreken. Fijne Kerst, Miss Austen!

Those who follow my blog know that I'm a huge Jane Austen fan. Some new books were recently published, "The Mysterious Death of Miss Austen" (Lindsay Ashford) and "Death comes to Pemberley" (P.D. James). I love detectives/thrillers AND Jane Austen, so there we have it, I've got a few books waiting to be read! Why the stocking? I was wondering how Jane would have celebrated her Christmases and so I allowed myself to give it my own twist. I cut out a stocking from satin and embellished it with lace; the flowers are also handmade according to this technique. I found this image in one of my books, scanned it first, printed it onto transfer paper and ironed it on a piece of cotton. Merry Christmas, Miss Austen!

De kerstman vertelt - Santa´s Stories

Een warm welkom voor mijn nieuwe volgsters, leuk dat jullie mijn blog hebben weten te vinden! Van de week heb ik gekeken naar de film "Inkheart" naar het boek van de Duitse Cornelia Funke. Ik had haar boek al eerder gelezen en was betoverd door haar geweldige vertelwijze. Zij is onwetend van dit alles de inspiratie geweest van mijn Kerstboek. Voor degenen die dit geweldige verhaal nog niet kennen: het gaat over een meisje van wie de vader het talent heeft om personages uit een boek tot leven te wekken; op een dag haalt hij gemene karakters uit het boek, maar tegelijkertijd verdwijnt zijn vrouw in hetzelfde boek! Een spannend en fantasievol verhaal! Mijn kerstman is nu dus ook uit zijn boek gekomen :-) Het papier dat ik heb gebruikt is van My Mind's Eye, de kerstman is weer een tekening van Phee Mc Faddell en is ingekleurd met Distress Inkt.

Last week I enjoyed watching the film "Inkheart", after the book of the German author Cornelia Funke. I read her book a couple of years ago and was impressed and enchanted by her writing skills. She has been the inspiration to my Christmas book. For those of you who are not familiar with the story: it's about a young girl whose father has the ability to read characters out of their books and bring them to life. One day he 'frees' villains by reading out loud, but at the same time his wife disappears into the book! An exciting fantasy story! My Santa came out of his storybook, too ;-) Papers used are My Mind's Eye, Santa is another gorgeous drawing by Phee Mc Faddell and is coloured with distress inks.

Marie Antoinette shoes

Sinterklaas is weer in ons land! En dat betekent dat we onze schoen weer mogen zetten in de hoop dat er iets lekkers of leuks in valt! En natúúrlijk geloof ik nog in de Sint ;-) Zing alle liedjes mee op straat, ben dol op kruidnoten en Chai thee. Omdat het schoentjestijd is, heb ik een paar Marie Antoinette schoentjes gemaakt. Bedankt voor jullie bezoek!
St. Nicholas is visiting our country again! Which means we get to put our empty shoe nearby the chimney, hoping that something nice or delicious drops into it! And it goes without saying that I still strongly believe in St. Nick :-) I just love to sing along (there are many songs about St. Nick), I'm a huge fan of ginger nuts and Spicy Chai tea. Ik ben dol op de tekeningen van Phee McFaddell, vooral op haar elfjes. Deze boekkaart heb ik gemaakt voor een hele goede vriendin van me om haar te bedanken voor haar vriendschap, er komt nog een cadeautje in, maar dat laat ik hier niet zien omdat ze m'n blog ook volgt ;-) Het elfje is ingekleurd met Derwent Coloursoft (ook het witte gedeelte). Het papier is van de Action, de bloem is gemaakt met stanzen van Sizzix (sneeuwvlok) en Cheery Lynn Designs Cherry Blossom. Een beetje True Snow maakt het af.
I love the drawings of Phee McFaddell, particularly her fairies. I made this book box for a very good friend of mine to thank her for her friendship. I will put in a small gift, but I can't show you that here since she's following my blog, too ;-) I coloured the fairy with Derwent Coloursoft (also the white part). Een vriendin van mij is binnenkort jarig en deze kaart is voor haar. Heb hiervoor de stempel van Kaisercraft (Postmarks) voor gebruikt, eerst gestempeld met Brilliance Pearl Poppy en daarna met het witte potlood van Derwent Coloursoft er overheen gegaan om het een wat mattere uitstraling te geven. I used the Kaisercraft Postmarks stamp with Brilliance Pearl Poppy and 'coloured' it with the white Derwent Coloursoft pencil to give it a soft touch. Kaarsjes - Candles

Mijn allereerste kerstcreatie van het jaar. Sommigen van jullie zijn heel wat slimmer bezig door bijvoorbeeld iedere week een kaart te maken, bij mij is het meestal last minute werk, maar het komt uiteindelijk altijd wel weer goed, dit jaar hopelijk ook ;-) Ik had dit prachtige papier van Melissa Frances al enige tijd in huis en op de één of andere manier kon ik er gewoon niet de schaar in zetten (terwijl ik daar anders nooit geen moeite mee heb). Maar het is er nu dus toch van gekomen, ik heb een doosje gevouwen van kraftpapier, beplakt met het MF papier en versierd met bloemen van kraftpapier (retropons). Ik heb er theelichtjes in gedaan.
My first Christmas creation of the year. Some of you girls are way smarter than me, by making one Christmas card every week for example; for me it's usually last minute work, but it'll be just fine in the end, hopefully this year, too ;-) I've had these gorgeous Melissa Frances papers for quite a while now and somehow I just couldn't cut it up (I normally don't have any problems with that!). Anyhow, I did it! I folded a hexagon box out of kraft paper, glued the MF paper on it and added some DIY kraftpaper flowers (retro punch). I put some tealights inside.

Voor de verjaardag van de dochter van mijn vriendin heb ik deze kaart gemaakt, 3 x raden waar ze dol op is? Juist ja! Paardrijden! Toen ik deze afbeelding zag (een kleurplaat van Toys Story Jessie), moest ik meteen aan haar denken, ze lijkt er zelfs een beetje op met die staartjes! Ik heb de afbeelding ingekleurd met Distress Inkt, het papier is van Prima Marketing (So Cute). Gebruikte stansen zijn van Marianne Design en Avec. Yeehaaw!!

This image (a colouring page of Toys Story Jessie) immediately reminded me of her, she even looks like her with those tails! Ik kan niet heksen! Haunted!

Toen ik enige tijd geleden door de zeer getalenteerde Tracy en Jan van Papercraft Star werd gevraagd om hun Guest Designer van deze week te zijn, zei ik direct enthousiast "ja, graag!" Het is jullie natuurlijk nog niet opgevallen dat ik zo weg ben van Halloween ;-) Het thema van deze week is "Halloween - A Trick or A Treat - Anything Haunted". Iedere week kun je prachtige afbeeldingen downloaden bij Papercraft Star, ga er maar eens een kijkje nemen! Bedankt Jan en Tracy, ik vind het enig om deze week bij jullie te zijn! Terug naar de challenge van deze week: we weten allemaal dat heksen zich graag op een bezem verplaatsen, maar wat sommigen van jullie misschien NIET weten is dat er heksen van hoge komaf zijn, ja, zelfs uit aristocratische kringen komen! En déze heksen verlagen zich natuurlijk niet tot dit alledaags vervoer! Nee, zij maken gebruik van hun pompoenen-koetsen! Dat doen ze al sinds mensenheugenis. Koetsen die zijn voorzien van spinnenwebwielen, deze zorgen voor extra hoge snelheden! Maar zelfs de koetsen voor deze hooggeplaatste heksen worden verder ontwikkeld. Het laatste model onder de pompoenen-koetsen is deze versie, compleet voorzien van turbo kaarslicht injectoren! Deze heks is heerseres van de lucht! Met zo'n koets wordt het heksen wel erg gemakkelijk gemaakt! Voor de turbo kaarslicht injectoren heb ik gebruik gemaakt van de Tim Holtz Candlelight Fright Die, toen ik die zag wist ik meteen dat die perfect zou zijn voor wat ik in gedachten had. De heksenhoed heb ik met de hand uitgeknipt, de pompoen trouwens ook (en in 3D gelaagd). De spinnenwebwielen zijn uitgestanst met Nellie Snellen stansen en ik heb het spinnenweb op vellum gestempeld.

Of course you girls haven't noticed anything my fondness for Halloween;-) The theme this week is "Halloween - A Trick or A Treat - Anything Haunted". Back to this week's challenge: we all know witches use broomsticks while travelling, but what we may NOT know is that there are some very high placed witches, of aristocratic descent, that will never stoop down to flying a broomstick, which to them is such an ordinary means of transportation! No, they have taken their pumpkin carriages for ages! With spiderweb wheels for high speed velocity! But even for witches times move forward. The latest model among pumpkin carriages has turbo candlelight injectors! This witch is definitely ruling the skies! With a carriage like this, haunting is made a LOT easier!

For the turbo candlelight injectors I used the Tim Holtz Candlelight Fright Die, the moment I saw it I just knew this die would be perfect for what I had in mind! The witch hat is hand cut as is the pumpkin. The pumpkin wheels are cut with Nellie Snellen dies and I stamped the spiderweb on vellum.

Tijd voor een verjaardag! Birthday Time!

Aan dit horloge zit een verhaal vast... Enige tijd geleden had ik voor mijn zus en m'n nichtjes een armband meegebracht, echt een cadeautje voor de meisjes dus. Zegt m'n jongste nichtje van 5 direct: "heb je ook iets voor papa meegenomen?" Ik reageerde met: "had papa ook graag een armband willen hebben dan?" Ja, ik moest me er toch op de één of andere manier uit redden :-) Maar ja, ik kreeg direct repliek: "Je had bijvoorbeeld een horloge of zo kunnen meenemen?" Toen was dit idee eigenlijk al meteen geboren! Haar papa krijgt nu dus voor zijn verjaardag deze 'kaart', ik heb een horloge gemaakt van kraftpapier, door de embossing folder Tiny Bubbles gehaald, beinkt met Distress Inkt Walnut Stain, daarna VersaMark en clear embossing poeder er overheen en verhit met de heating tool voor de glans. Gebruikte stempels zijn van Stampinback, Hero Arts, Inkadinkado en Mariëtte Verhees. Als je het 'uurwerk' openklapt, komt de rest tevoorschijn. Tijd voor een verjaardag!!
There's a small story attached to this watch... Some time ago I gave my sister and my two nieces a bracelet, a real girly gift. Upon which my youngest niece (she's 5 years old) says:"did you bring daddy something, too?" So I responded:"would daddy have loved a bracelet, too?" What was I to do, I needed some excuse here, lol! But the little one immediately said:"well, you could have brought him a watch or something?" So basically that's when the idea for this watch was born. Her daddy receives this 'card' for his birthday; I made a watch out of kraft paper, I used the embossing folder Tiny Bubbles to emboss it, inked it up with Walnut Stain distress ink, inked it up with VersaMark and sprinkled clear embossing powder over it and took my heating tool to make it look shiny. Stamps used are Stampinback, Hero Arts, Inkadinkado and Mariëtte Verhees. Time for another birthday!!

She knows about my shoe addiction and look what she sent me! A small mirror for in my purse, with the loveliest image of a shoe and silver shoes for in the Christmas tree! I love this to pieces! VampIRA? Ja, dat is m'n nieuwe bijnaam (en die heb ik al zoveel ;-). Een tijdje terug was m'n nichtje gevallen en haar vingertje bloedde, ik nam die even in m'n mond en zei tegen haar om hetzelfde te doen want dan zou 't zó over zijn. Afijn, mijn zwager weet van mijn voorliefde voor Halloween (hij is trouwens helemaal gek van horror en dat heb ik dan weer niet hè) dus die zei meteen: "ah, lekker, bloed!" Hij lachen! Komt m'n neef binnen en zegt: "Ha, VampIRA!" En tja, nou moet ik m'n naam maar waarmaken ook, vandaar weer wat nieuwe Halloween-creaties, hopelijk zijn jullie ze nog niet beu, maar volgende week komt er vast wel weer iets anders op m'n blog te staan hoor!
Ik heb met de nieuwe Creatable van Marianne Design (lantaarn) dit Halloween-theelichtje gemaakt en omdat ik silhouetjes wilde uitknippen, heb ik de randjes uit de frames geknipt, anders kon je de kopjes niet meer zien. Deze prachtige silhouetten heb ik gevonden op het blog van Milo. Mooi zijn ze hè? Waar dat pergamano-schaartje al niet goed voor is! Oh ja, de silhouetten zijn geplakt op vellumpapier.

Vampira? Well, this is my new nickname (of which I already have so many ;-). A little while ago my niece fell and her finger was bleeding, I took it into my mouth and told her to do the same, because then it would be over real soon. My brother-in-law knows about my love for Halloween (BTW he's into horror, which I'm not!) so he immediately said: "ah, great, blood!" And he was having so much fun! Upon which my cousin enters who says: "Hey, VampIRA!" Oh well, guess I just have to live up to this new standard, hence the new Halloween creations, I do hope that you're not fed up with them yet ;-) I'll be posting something else next week, I promise!

With the lateste Creatable of Marianne Design (lantern) I made this Halloween tealight and I wanted to insert silhouettes so I cut out the adorned pieces of the frame, otherwise you wouldn't be able to see the vampire heads anymore. I found these gorgeous silhouettes on Milo's blog. Aren't they fabulous? Long live my pergamano scissors!! Oh, the silhouettes are glued onto vellum paper.

En om het af te leren - alhoewel? - nog deze heksenhoed: ik heb een standaard zwarte heksenhoed versierd met lint, een satijnenstrik en zelfgemaakte organzabloemen (kijk maar bij mijn tutorials hoe je deze kunt maken). Heb hem gevuld met fiberfill en er een dunne breinaald in gestoken zodat ik 'm kon buigen.

Hekserij - Witchcraft!!

Hebben jullie dat nou ook? Als je eens een dag in de huid mocht kruipen van een fantasiefiguur, wie zouden jullie dan kiezen? Als klein meisje vond ik het heerlijk om met mijn ouders door de bossen te sluipen en onder de paddenstoelen te kijken of er kabouters woonden en maar roepen "Eucalypta"!!! Was er dan ook heilig van overtuigd dat de bossen meer bewoners herbergden dan alleen maar uilen en vogels... Dat was toen, alhoewel??? Ik heb dat nu nog steeds hoor, erg hè? Zou daar die fascinatie voor Halloween vandaan komen? Hoe dan ook, ik hou van heksen en spannende verhalen, maar dan weer niet zo van spinnen en katten, bezems vind ik super, daar moet ik dan weer op springen hè. Papier is van Authentique. Have you ever thought about being a magical or mystical figure, who would you choose? As a little girl I loved creeping through the forest together with my parents, I would look underneath toadstools to see whether gnomes actually lived there. And I just kept shouting "Eucalypta" (a famous witch from the books of "Paulus the Woodgnome"). I was utterly convinced that the forests had more inhabitants than just owls and birds... Which was way back then... I think... I still have that same feeling every now and then, quite silly really. Do you think that's where my fascination for Halloween comes from? Whatever, I happen to love witches and exciting tales, but I'm not too keen on spiders and cats, I love broomsticks, I always have to jump on one. But after all these years I still haven't got the knack for flying ;-) I love decorating our house for Halloween, which I'm currently doing, I altered a small cigar box and a Rituals soap dispenser, which now has toad mucus inside, yikes!! Papers are Authentique.

Beethoven's woorden, niet die van mij, alhoewel: een leven zonder passie is toch maar saai? Je moet wél uit het leven halen wat erin zit, intens genieten van elkaar, de natuur, muziek, boeken, hobby's (!), ach, er is zovéél om van te houden! Ik heb pas deze Beethoven stempel van La Blanche aangeschaft en was éigenlijk van plan om er een Halloween-creatie mee te maken, vind deze overigens briljante componist ook een beetje van het kaliber Dracula, hij kijkt altijd zo donker! Maar ik heb me bedacht en hou het maar bij de muziek. Het muziekpapier is van Authentique (Glowing). Ik heb Beethoven gestempeld op aquarelpapier en bewerkt met Distress Inkt (Pumice Stone), vond zelfs nog een knoop met het jaartal 1780 erop (oké, toen was hij 10, maar toch!). Fijn weekend allemaal!!

You have got to try to get the most out of life, enjoy each other's company, nature, music, books, crafting (!), oh well, there's so much to love!! I recently purchased this Beethoven stamp from La Blanche and initially intended to use it to make a Halloween creation, this remarkable composer does have certain similarities to Dracula, he has that same dark look! But I changed my mind and will stick to his music instead! The music sheet is Authentique (Glowing). I stamped Beethoven on aquarel paper and distressed with Pumice Stone, I even found a button with the year 1780 on top (okay, Ludwig was 10 back then, but still!). James will be lauching her new book about the murder on George Wickham around the beginning of November! I've already put this on my wish list!

9. wintersportvakanties kunnen me gestolen worden, ik haat kou! (ik lijk die moppersmurf wel!) - winter sports holidays are not my cup of tea, I hate the cold! (I start sounding like Grouchy Smurf!)

Ik heb weer eens een 'oude techniek' uit de kast getrokken, pergamano! Het hart is een vector patroon dat ik op internet heb gevonden, heb dit op vellumpapier overgetrokken met pergamano inkt en daarna geciseleerd. Het achtergrondpapier is van Basic Grey (Wisteria) en een mij onbekend merk (had nog een stukje over! Heb deze kaart voor al mijn volgsters gemaakt omdat ik het altijd zo lief van jullie vind dat jullie mijn blog komen bezoeken!

I decided to use an 'old technique' again, pergamano! The heart is a vector pattern which I found on the internet. I paper traced it with pergamano ink and subsequently embossed certain parts of the heart. Backing paper is Basic Grey (Wisteria) and another unknown brand (still had scraps lying around!). I made this card for you, my followers, for being so sweet to come and visit my blog!

M'n tweede bericht van vandaag ;-) Het was vandaag jammer genoeg niet zo lekker als gisteren, ben daarom maar m'n hobbyhok ingedoken om alvast voor m'n nichtje's 5e verjaardag iets te maken. Ze heeft een Pip-kamer en is daar helemaal weg van. Ik heb een wandversiering voor haar gemaakt van een plastic ring als basis en heb deze vervolgens gepimpt in de stijl van haar kamer. Here's my second post of today ;-) Unfortunately the weather was not as pleasant as it was yesterday, so I took to crafting in my hobbyroom. I made a little something for my niece who's turning 5 next Saturday. She has a Pip-style room and absolutely dotes on it. So I made her this wall hanging and used this plastic ring which I subsequently altered in the style of her room.

De vogeltjes en hartjes van stof zijn zelfgemaakt en ik heb lekker heel veel lint gebruikt. Eén lint heb ik bestempeld, het is per slot van rekening voor haar verjaardag! The fabric birds and hearts are homemade and I used quite a lot of ribbon. I stamped on one of them, it is for my niece's birthday after all!

Wat is het toch een onwijs leuke week geworden vol met geweldige verrassingen! Het begon al afgelopen dinsdag toen ik door mijn man werd 'ontvoerd' naar Duitsland. We zijn uiteindelijk uitgekomen in Baden-Württemberg, hebben daar zo'n beetje de hele streek tussen Karslruhe en Basel bezocht en hadden fantastisch mooi weer. Donderdag daar mijn verjaardag gevierd, lekker genoten van alle sms-jes, belletjes en mailtjes. Toen we vrijdagavond laat weer thuis kwamen, lag er een hoop gezellige post op de deurmat. Wat een prachtige verwennerij! Kijk maar, deze supermooie kaart kreeg ik van mijn vriendin Mariëlle, met daarbij een heerlijk ruikende zeepketting en stempels die ik nog nooit eerder had gezien!
Last week turned out to be a totally cool one filled with lovely surprises! It started last Tuesday when my husband 'kidnapped' me to Germany. We ended up in Baden-Württemberg, have seen just about the entire region between Karlsruhe and Basel. Even the weather was fantastic! On Thursday we celebrated my birthday, I enjoyed all the text messages, emails and phone calls I received that day. When we came home late Friday night we found lots of birthday cards on the doormat. I'm so spoilt! Look, this over the top gorgeous card was made by my friend Mariëlle; she added this fragrant soap chain and stamps that I've never even seen before!

De volgende envelop was van de supercreatieve en bijzondere Majo, zij maakte voor mij dit speciale mini album met zoveel liefde en geduld, ik moet hier gewoon even alle details laten zien, met lintjes, gestempelde tags en prachtig papier. Daar word je toch stil van? Zo mooi...

The next envelope was from the super creative and special Majo, she made this gorgeous mini album with so much love and patience, I just have to show you all the details, with ribbons, stamped tags and superb papers. It's enough to make you go completely silent, so pretty...

Dat was overigens niet alles, Majo had er ook nog dit beeldige kaartje bij gedaan! Which was not all, Majo also added this superb card!

En vervolgens was de volgende envelop aan de beurt, deze was afkomstig van Stella, zij maakt zulke romantische kaarten met prachtige zachte kleuren en wat een schattige sleutelhanger! Wat een prachtige stofjes heeft ze daarvoor gebruikt hè?

The next envelope I got to open was from Stella, she makes the most romantic cards with wonderfully soft tones and look at this fabulous key chain! Didn't she use the finest of fabrics?

Heb ik teveel gezegd? Wat een creatievelingen! Echt super!! Bedankt lieve vriendinnen, jullie hebben mij enorm verwend, ben er geweldig blij mee!!

Have I said too much? These girls are all so creative! Totally cool! Thanks my dear friends, you have spoilt me rotten!

En de laatste verrassing kwam van de onwijs getalenteerde Cindy, die onlangs een nieuw cool blog heeft opgericht. Zij heeft een aantal dames op haar blog vermeld, waaronder ik zei de gek ;-) Bedankt voor deze eervolle vermelding Cindy! Ga maar eens kijken op haar blog, die is zeer de moeite waard!!

We hebben een paar heerlijke zonnige dagen achter de rug en tóch ruik je 's morgens de herfst als je buiten komt! Dat niet alleen trouwens, soms word je verwelkomd door mevrouw Dicky Spin die achter haar spinnewiel een gezellig web aan het weven is. En dat is dan precíes de tijd wanneer ik alweer aan Halloween begin te denken! Ik heb een paar "trick or treat" doosjes gemaakt, de template heb ik hier gevonden. Ik heb zwarte cardstock gebruikt en bestempeld met Inkadinkado. De bezem heb ik gemaakt van een satéprikker - die hebben al vaker hun dienst bewezen! - en sisaltouw. De afbeelding van het heksje komt van Deviant Art. Wisten jullie trouwens dat heksen een code hebben afgesproken om te laten weten dat ze thuis zijn? Nee? Wanneer ze hun bezem boven in hun hoed-huisje steken dan zijn ze dus thuis ;-) Wél even aanbellen als je langs wilt komen, anders raak je in hun web verstrikt!!

We've enjoyed some wonderful sunny days and yet you can smell autumn in the air when going out of the house in the morning! Which is not all, by the way, sometimes you're being welcomed by Mrs. Phat Spyder who's behind the spinning wheel spinning her web. For me that's exactly the moment when I start thinking about Halloween! I made a few "trick or treat" boxes, the template can be found here. I used some black cardstock and stamped them with Inkadinkado. I made the broom with sisal and a satay skewer (they have proven their value many a time!) The image of the cute little witch can fe found on Deviant Art. By the way, did you girls know that witches have a secret code to let each other know that they're residing at home? No? Whenever you see their brooms sticking out of their little hat houses that's when you'll find them at home ;-) Please do ring the bell though, you wouldn't want to end up being caught in their web now would you?

En dan wil ik nog iets met jullie delen waar ik heel erg blij mee ben, dit prachtige kaartje van Jacira, mijn dierbare Braziliaanse vriendin. Mooi hè, dat schattige Holly Hobby silhouetje erop? En zie je die bloem! En dat was niet alles, voor mijn verjaardag heeft ze me enorm verrast met deze geweldige vrolijke kleurrijke teenslippers, échte Havaianas!!! Helemaal uit Brazilië! Ik voel me zoooooooooooo onwijs verwend!! Nogmaals heel hartelijk bedankt meisje, ik vind ze gewéldig!!! And then there's something else that I'd like to share with you, something that I'm totally smitten with, this gorgeous sweet card especially made by my dear Brazilian friend Jacira. Don't you just love that cute little Holly Hobby silhouette?? And look at that flower! This was not all, however, for my upcoming birthday she surprised me with these over the top gorgeous, cheerful and bright slippers, real Havaianas!!! All the way from Brazil! I feel sooooooooooooooo spoilt! Muito obrigada sweetie, I adore them!!!
