Marie Antoinette also loves to read "Alice in Wonderland"

Iedereen heeft wel een dominodoosje in de kast staan waar al dan niet mee wordt gespeeld, nou, ik ben er vanmorgen op een andere manier mee gaan spelen. Mijn lieve vriendin Jacira wist me te vertellen dat er een challenge met het thema Marie Antoinette was bij Daring Cardmakers en ja, ik had daar wel oren naar. Heb de houten (oorspronkelijk zwarte) dominostenen met gouden acrylverf geschilderd en ben lekker aan het pimpen geslagen. Het is een heel gepriegel om dit soort kleine boekjes te maken, want ja, die stenen zijn maar een goede 2 x 4 cm! Op de voorzijde nog een cameo bevestigd en wat strass-steentjes erbij en het Marie Antoinette boekje is klaar!
We probably all have a domino box somewhere in one of our cupboards. Some of you will actually play this game, I started playing with the dominoes in a different way this morning. My dear friend Jacira told me about  the Marie Antoinette challenge over at Daring Cardmakers and I wanted to participate. I've painted the originally black dominoes gold (with acrylic paint) and started embellishing. It's quite a lot of fussy work since the dominoes only measure about 2x4 cms! I added a cameo to the front and some gemstones and here's my Marie Antoinette booklet:

Ja, en weet je wat het dan is? Dan zie je nog zoveel stenen meer liggen, dus ik dacht ach, het gaat redelijk vlot, ik maak er gewoon nog ééntje bij, maar dan over Alice in Wonderland ;-) Hier is het boekje gesloten, heb er diverse charms op geplakt. Het konijn is al weggerend, want die is véél te laat!

And you know what? You see all of those black dominoes and there you go again, I decided to make another booklet, but this once is about Alice in Wonderland ;-) Here's the closed booklet, I've added several charms to the front. The rabbit's already gone, for he's waaaaaaaaaaay too late already!!

Side Step Into My House

Voor een blogvriendin die binnenkort gaat verhuizen, heb ik deze side step kaart gemaakt. Als het goed is, is de post inmiddels gearriveerd dus kan ik 'm hier wel laten zien. Heb hiervoor het papier van Prima Marketing gebruikt (Jack 'n Jill Collection) en er een huisje van geknipt. De onwijs leuke hekjes zijn dies van Memory Box en zijn te verkrijgen bij My Crafty Heart. 
I made this side step card for one of my blog buddies who's going to move house in a couple of weeks. It should have arrived by now, so I can easily post it. I used Prima Marketing papers (Jack 'n Jill Collection) and turned them into a house. The supercute gate and fences (Memory Box) are available at My Crafty Heart. By the way, the Dutch sign reads "Lots of happiness".

Carnival - Alaaf!!

Als ik nu zo naar buiten kijk dan hebben we gisteren met de optocht ongelooflijk mazzel gehad zeg! Hier sneeuwt 't z'n best! Voor degenen die carnaval vieren: Alaaf!! We hebben gisteren een supergezellige dag/avond gehad met familie, huis versierd met ballonnen en serpentines:

Boy, were we lucky yesterday! I'm looking outside right now and it's snowing! For those celebrating carnival: Alaaf!! We spent a lovely afternoon/evening together with family and friends, our house decorated with balloons, serpentines:

Happy Belated Valentine's Day!!

Leuke Valentijnsdag gehad? Ik moest van mijn mannetje 's morgens eerst uitvoerig de krant uitpluizen en ja hoor, daar stond-ie, een hele lieve advertentie! Had trouwens voor hem zelf een heel grappig filmpje gemaakt waar-ie niets van wist ;-) Wij hebben gisteren dubbel gevierd, want mijn schoonmoeder is 90 (!) geworden! Gezellig feestje gevierd met de familie, was leuk! Uiteraard nog een kaart voor haar gemaakt en gezien haar leeftijd heb ik 'm klassiek gehouden:

Did you all have an enjoyable Valentine's Day? DH made me read the papers first and yes, there it was, a darling sweet ad! By the way I made him a funny Valentine's film which he didn't know anything about ;-) Yesterday we had two celebrations, because my mother-in-law turned 90 (!), had quite a family party yesterday, big time fun! Of course I made her a card as well and in view of her age I kept it rather classic:

Afgelopen maandag was een goede blogvriendin van me jarig, dus die heeft de vintagekaart hieronder van me gekregen. June van Dezinaworld was zo lief om mij o.a. onderstaande afbeelding van deze prachtige dame te sturen. Nogmaals bedankt June!

En ik had ook nog kans gezien om wat tags te maken met het prachtige nieuwe papier uit de nieuwe collectie van My Mind's Eye, te verkrijgen bij My Crafty Heart. De stempels zijn o.a. van The Stampsmith en zijn met Distress Inkt gestempeld.

Van de week kreeg ik trouwens deze beeldschone kaart van Teresa, onze teamleidster by My Crafty Heart, met daarop de afbeelding Fairy Ira, zo enig, ze heeft haar elfjes genoemd naar al mijn teamleden ;-) Nogmaals bedankt Teresa!

And last but not least I have this beautiful card to show you. It's made by Teresa, our team leader at My Crafty Heart, using Fairy Ira, isn't it lovely that she named her handdrawn fairies after my teamies ;-) Thanks again dear Teresa!

Bloemen en elfjes, kan het dromeriger? Vroeger als klein kind liep ik in de bossen al te zoeken naar elfjes en kabouters (en nog!), kon me hele voorstellingen maken van hun huisjes, van die gezellige knusse woninkjes, met mostapijtjes en heerlijke bloemengeuren. Toen ik dit elfje (Fairy Donna) dat Teresa van My Crafty Heart heeft getekend voor het eerst zag, wist ik direct voor wie ik iets zou gaan maken, mijn twee nichtjes Gwynn en Phoebe. Ik heb de elfjes twee maal afgedrukt, waarvan ééntje gespiegeld. Da's ook meteen het leuke van digitale afbeeldingen, je kunt ze spiegelen, vergroten, verkleinen, net wat je wilt! Overigens worden er in de webshop van My Crafty Heart nog veel meer prachtige elfjes aangeboden, zijn jullie er al eens wezen kijken? Zeker doen, want ook de papierlijnen zijn beeldschoon! Ik heb mijn elfjes lekker in de bomen laten schommelen aan een bloem, precies zoals ik me dat voorstel in het bos ;-) Op de takjes nog wat flowersoft. En ik ben niet de enige die dol is op Fairy Donna, ook mijn teamgenote bij My Crafty Heart, Sue, heeft deze week een prachtige kaart met haar gemaakt!!

Flowers and fairies, can't get any dreamier, can it? When I was a little child I would run around in the forest to look for fairies and gnomes (I still do!), envisaged complete villages with cute little houses, moss carpets lying on the floor and the smell of flowers coming out of the chimneys. When I first saw this sweet fairy (Fairy Donna), which is hand drawn by Teresa of My Crafty Heart, I  immediately thought of my two lovely nieces Gwynn and Phoebe. I printed the fairies twice, I mirrored the image as well. Now that's the fun part of digital images, you can either mirror, enlarge or scale them any which way you like! By the way, you can find lots of other beautiful fairies in Teresa's store My Crafty Heart, did you have a look already? Please do, because that's not all there is, you will find the most fabulous paper packages and the finest of embellishments! My fairies are swinging from a flower stem, exactly as I imagine their lives in the woods ;-) I used some flowersoft for the branches. By the way, I'm not the only one who adores Fairy Donna, my teamy at MCH, Sue, has made a gorgeous card with her!!
