'Twas The Night Before Christmas...

Al net zo lang als ik me kan herinneren, ben ik gek op de Kerst. Mijn ouders hadden een prachtige, kleurrijke, glimmende Kerstster met lichtjes en ieder jaar vroeg ik of ik die weer voor mijn slaapkamerraam mocht hangen. Zulke fijne, dierbare herinneringen... Met dit nostalgische gevoel ben ik aan de slag gegaan en heb dit kleine bedje gemaakt. Het kleine meisje slaapt licht, vol verwachting... Ze droomt van 1e Kerstdag...
Ever since I can remember, I've loved Christmas. I remember that my parents had this wonderful, shiny, colourful Christmas light star and each year I would ask them if I could put it up in front of my window. Such happy, tender memories... With this nostalgic feeling I set to work and created this little bed. The little girl is lightly asleep, filled with sweet expectations... She's dreaming of Christmas Day...

Slaap zacht kleintje, dit is jouw Kerstnacht...

Het bedje is gemaakt van een leeg speelkaartendoosje, wat kant en stof zorgt voor de aankleding. Ik heb slechts één stans gebruikt voor het bedje (3x uitstansen voor de stevigheid).
The bed is made out of an empty playing card deck box, some lace and fabric form the cover. I only used one single die for the bed (cut out 3 pcs for each side to get sturdy stands).

Hallo allemaal, ook zo gezellig bezig met de voorbereidingen voor de Kerst? Ondanks de kou moet ik zeggen dat December één van mijn favoriete maanden van het jaar is. Hoe is dat bij jullie? Mochten jullie nog wat snelle cadeautjes willen maken, dan is dit misschien een idee, Christmas Crackers. Ik wou die van mij een beetje chiquer maken, want ja, bij Kerst hoort toch wel een beetje bling, niet dan? En de Poppystamps Diamond Background was helemaal perfect voor het toiletrolletje dat ik heb gebruikt om mijn cracker te maken (hè ja, dat is dan wel weer een beetje basic en minder chic, ha ha ha!)
Hi girls, you all busy prepping for Christmas? Despite the cold I have to say that December is one of my favourite months of the year. How about you? If you are looking for some easy and quick gifts you might want to try and make some Christmas crakers. I've tried to give mine a bit of a "Tiffany" look, for we girls just love a bit of bling at Christmas, don't we? And the Poppystamps Diamond Background had just the right size for the toilet paper rol I used (oh gosh, that all sounds rather basic and not so oh la la, LOL!)

En na vintage is het weer tijd voor iets liefs, wat dachten jullie van deze rendiertjes? Die stans van Brenda Walton is echt zóóóóóóóóóóóóóóó mooi! Alleen het doosje waar het in zit is al een echt cadeautje! Heb er deze twee kaarten mee gemaakt met het mooie papier van de Action:

A Christmas Carol...

Vandaag is het alweer de laatste dag van de Visions of Sugarplums blog hop, wil je ook meedoen, ga dan voor alle details naar Lori's blog. Ik weet niet hoe het jullie vergaat, maar ik vind "A Christmas Carol" van Charles Dickens toch nog altijd één van de meest ultieme Kerstverhalen en wou hier toch iets mee doen. Ik zag regelmatig kransen van die gevouwen kegeltjes voorbij komen, maar om dat nou ook te gaan maken? En tijdens het strijken, toen ik één van onze extra paspoppen aan de kant moest zetten, is deze kerstversiering geboren:

Don't know about you girls, but I really love "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens. It's still one of the most impressive Christmas stories ever. I've seen many cone wreaths, but did I want to make one myself, too? So whilst ironing, when one of our dress forms was standing in the way, this Christmas adornment came up: 

Erg hè? Heb hiervoor een oud studieboek gebruikt over het werk van Charles Dickens, moest er dus wel diverse pagina's uithalen.
Bad bad girl! I used an old study book on the novels of Charles Dickens, I had to take out a few pages.

Gift book box...

Hallo allemaal, daar ben ik weer na enkele weken afwezig te zijn geweest. Ik heb mijn schouders en nek goed rust gegund, maar in de tussentijd is er weer veel gebeurd... Mijn schoonmoeder is een dag of 10 geleden in het ziekenhuis opgenomen, dat betekende dus veel bezoekjes op en neer naar haar. Nadat de artsen zeiden niets meer voor haar te kunnen doen en ze inmiddels in een comateuze toestand was geraakt, is ze een paar dagen geleden thuis (haar liefste wens was om thuis te sterven) ingeslapen... Ik zal nu wel weer in blogland zijn, maar iets minder actief dan normaal, hopelijk hebben jullie hier begrip voor. Ik heb m'n afleiding dan ook maar gezocht in creativiteit...
Vandaag gaat echter de nieuwe challenge bij Vintage Udfordring weer van start, #71, Gift Wrapping; ik heb een boekdoosje gemaakt voor de Kerst, denk dat ik hier lekkere chocolaatjes in doe straks. We worden gesponsord door Nina en dit kun je winnen:
                                      
Hi girls, here I am again, after having been seriously MIA in the past couple of weeks. My shoulders and neck are much better now, but whilst I was having my blogging break lots of things happened... My MIL was admitted into the hospital about 10 days ago, which meant going up and down to my MIL lots of times. After the doctors said they weren't able to help her anymore and with her being in a comatose situation by then, she was taken home again where she passed away a few days ago... I will be visiting blogland again, although perhaps a little less active than usual. Thanks for your kind understanding my friends... Trying to be creative is a fine diversion...
