A Tale of Two Cards

Vanmorgen was het nog niet zo warm buiten, dus ben ik lekker m'n hobbyhokje ingekropen en heb deze twee kaarten gemaakt, de één is voor m'n zus die morgen jarig is, de ander voor een goede blogvriendin van me die een operatie moet ondergaan. En daarna heerlijk van het zonnetje genoten buiten, dat doet een mens goed hè? Heb m'n boek uit, kan nu gaan beginnen aan de nieuwste van Dan Brown, "Inferno", ben benieuwd! Nog wat seringentakken geplukt en in de vaas gezet op de terrastafel, ruikt zo lekker! En waar hebben jullie je mee bezig gehouden vandaag? Morgen nog een dagje vrij, is toch een cadeautje?

Although the sun was shining already this morning, it was still too cold so I crept into my hobby den and made these two cards, one is for my sister, who will be celebrating her birthday tomorrow, the other for a dear blog buddy of mine who has to undergo surgery.  And in the afternoon I really enjoyed the sun outdoors, oh, we really needed that, didn't we? I was able to finish my book and I've got the next one ready, Dan Brown's "Inferno", can't wait! Picked a couple of lilac branches and put them in a vase, they look absolutely wonderful on the garden table and smell even better! And what kept you girls busy today? Tomorrow we have another day off, isn't that a gift? 

 Oh Wonderful Paris!

Mother's Day Flowers

Vandaag Moederdag. Altijd weer een bijzondere dag voor alle moeders, ook al zou het natuurlijk iedere dag gewoon Moederdag moeten zijn (ook al heb ik zelf geen kinderen). Ik heb helaas geen moeder meer die ik kan verwennen, maar dat wil niet zeggen dat ik er niet bij stil sta. Wou vandaag ook mijn moeder symbolisch bloemen geven en heb deze Franse bloemenkar voor haar gemaakt, vol met bloemen, precies zoals ze het graag zag. Alles is gemaakt met behulp van stansen, hieronder zal ik precies vertellen met welke. De basis van de kar is gemaakt met de Spellbinders Nestabilities Timeless Rectangles. Misschien een leuk cadeautje voor jezelf vandaag: wat mooie nieuwe stansen? Teresa van My Crafty Heart heeft buiten een grote collectie aan o.a. Memory Box stansen nu ook prachtige nieuwe stansen van Impression Obsession! Ik wens iedereen een hele fijne dag toe, maak er iets bijzonders van!

Today is Mother's Day. Always a special day for every mother, although it should be Mother's Day every day, of course (even though I don't have any kids). Unfortunately my mother passed away several years ago and so I cannot spoil her anymore, but that doesn't mean I'm not thinking about her. I wanted to symbolically give my mom some flowers and so I made her this French flower cart, filled with all kinds of flowers, exactly how she liked them. Every single piece is made with dies, I'll sum up which ones I used below. I made the base of the cart with Spellbinders Nestabilities Timeless Rectangles. Maybe you´d like to get yourself a lovely gift today, how about some new dies? Apart from a huge collection of a.o. For A Dear Friend

Het is alweer een dikke week geleden dat ik iets heb geplaatst op m'n blog, te druk geweest met vooral werk. Maar voor goede vrienden maak ik altijd heel graag tijd! Deze bloem-ster, zo noem ik het maar even voor het gemak, heb ik voor een hele lieve vriendin van me gemaakt, omdat ze jarig is én omdat ze onwijs positief, hartelijk en vrolijk is en blijft! Maia, nogmaals van harte proficiat met je verjaardag meid!! Met een dikke kus van mij voor jou!
Wanneer je nu trouwens naar My Crafty Heart surft, dan zie je dat Teresa zulke leuke nieuwe dingen heeft (zoals nieuwe stansen!) en vergeet niet naar de speciale aanbiedingen te kijken (veel prijzen zijn verlaagd, dus het is nu erg interessant om wat leuks voor jezelf of voor iemand anders aan te schaffen!)

It has been over a week since I last posted something on my blog, I've been too busy with mainly work. But for dear friends I'm more than happy to make time! I made this flower star as I call it for a very dear friend of mine, because it's her birthday today AND because she always remains optimistic despite her health issues, for her sweetness and happiness! Maia, happy birthday to you girl!! Big hugs from me to you!!

Coronation of our new King!

Morgen is het een nationale feestdag, want dan hebben we een nieuwe Koning! Ik ben er helemaal klaar voor, het kroontje kan worden opgezet en een bijpassend schoentje doet de rest ;-) Geniet van alle feestelijkheden!!!

Altered Notebook

Ik had nog een stapeltje oude schoolschriften liggen die ik goed als notitieboekje zou kunnen gebruiken. Heb er dus maar ééntje gepimpt, maakt het maken van een boodschappenlijstje zo heel wat gezelliger ha ha ha! Nog een bijpassende tag erbij voor de lol. De lieve plaatjes zijn van Pion Design en waren een cadeautje van mijn lieve vriendin Sue. Nogmaals hartelijk dank hiervoor! Al het kant komt op mijn eigen voorraad.
Wisten jullie trouwens dat je op een supereenvoudige manier alle blogs die je volgt in één keer over kunnen zetten naar Bloglovin'? Wanneer je ingelogd bent, ga je naar 'settings' en daarna kies je 'other' en 'import blogs' (vanuit Google Reader). Voilà, klus geklaard! Werkt overigens ook perfect met Feedly, een andere supergoede reader die vanuit Google Reader alle blogs automatisch kan inlezen! Dus zo hoef je eigenlijk al je favoriete blogs niet aan te schrijven, maar heb je ze meteen in één klap! Succes ermee!

 I still had a stack of old school notebooks and thought they would come in so handy. So I decided to alter one of them, making grocery lists is so much more fun now! Also had to make a matching tag, just for fun. The darling images are from Pion Design and were a gift from my dear friend Sue. Thanks again sweetie! All the lace is from my stash.
By the way, did you know that there's a really easy way to import all of your favourite blogs to Bloglovin'? Log in, go to 'settings', go to 'other' and choose 'import blogs' (from Google Reader). Voilà, that's it! This also works perfectly with Feedly, another superb reader that allows you to import all of your favourite blogs from Google Reader! So there's no need to contact your favourite blogs, like this you have them with one push on the button! Good luck!

The Little Mermaid

Zo leuk, mijn kleine nichtje Phoebe van 6 mag aanstaande zondag op voor haar B-diploma! Ze heeft gevraagd of wij dan komen kijken en ja, natuurlijk zijn wij van de partij! Heb dan ook een bijpassend kaartje voor haar gemaakt om haar succes toe te wensen en omdat ze nogal weg is van Ariel mocht die natuurlijk niet ontbreken (de tekening is van Deviantart en van de hand van de geweldige artiest Yampuff). Het plaatje is ingekleurd met Spectrum Noir Markers. Het is een front step card geworden.
How wonderful, my little 6-year-old niece Phoebe is taking her second swimming exams this coming Sunday! She has asked us whether we'd like to be present and yes, of course we'll be there! So I had to made her an appropriate card to wish her luck. She loves Ariel, so it was quite logical to use her image (which I found on Deviantart, it's a beautiful drawing by the wonderful artist Yampuff). I've coloured the image with Spectrum Noir Markers. French Ballet Cabinet

Niet zo lang geleden heb ik dit Franse theatertje gemaakt, maar achter de coulissen gebeurt er natuurlijk nog veel meer. Voordat de show kan beginnen, moeten de kostuums worden gecontroleerd en klaar gehangen. Vond dus dat er een klein cabinetje bij moest komen voor de tutuutjes van de ballerina's. Er zijn weer fantastisch nieuwe Spellbinders uit en hiermee heb ik het kastje gemaakt, ook de kastdeurtjes. Ga gauw kijken bij My Crafty Heart, want er zijn weer zulke gave stansen verkrijgbaar, ik heb de mijne al besteld! De jurkjes zijn gemaakt met het prachtige nieuwe lint van Melissa Frances.

Not so long ago I made this little French theatre. But of course so much more is going on backstage. Before the show begins, costumes need to be checked and prepared. So I thought it would be totally neat to make a small French ballet cabinet for the ballet tutus. Recently Spellbinders has released some fantastic new dies and I used these to make this cabinet, including the cabinet doors. Why don't you go and check out the new dies @ My Crafty Heart, I ordered them as soon as I saw them! I made the dresses with the beautiful Melissa Frances Ribbons.

10 little fingers and 10 little toes...

Ha ha! En nu hoor ik jullie al denken, is ze, zou ze??? Daarover straks meer, het is nu eerst tijd voor de tweemaandelijkse swap met mijn vriendin Odetta die ditmaal het thema heeft bepaald. Ze stuurde me een blanco zakje toe met de opdracht deze te versieren en er een kleinigheidje in te stoppen. Hieronder mijn uitvoering, heb het papier van Eline's Huis gebruikt, wat blijft dat toch mooi! En omdat ik zo dol op cameo's ben, mocht deze hier niet ontbreken.
He he! I can already hear you girls thinking, is she, would she be??? I'll tell you all about it later, it's now time for the bi-monthly swap with my friend Odetta who has set the theme. She sent me a small bag to decorate and to put a little something inside. Here's my contribution for which I used the papers from Eline's Huis. Just love those papers! And since I'm so fond of cameos I couldn't go without one here. 

 Ik heb er wat handgemaakte ornamentjes ingestopt, van klei gemaakt en m.b.v. een stempel van Marianne Design:

 En kijk eens wat voor een geweldige verrassing Odetta voor mij had? Schitterende zeekleuren, ik vind ze prachtig, met mooie kleine schelpjes versierd en zien jullie die lieve 

kleine zeepaardjes? Schattig toch? Bedankt voor deze geweldige swap Odetta! Hij was weer supergaaf om te doen!

And look at the wonderful surprise Odetta had for me? Those amazing sea colours which I love, adorned with beautiful tiny shells and aren't the sea horses adorable?? Thanks again for this great swap Odetta! I enjoyed myself immensely!

Goed, ik ben jullie nu nog wat uitleg verschuldigd natuurlijk n.a.v. m'n blogtitel. Heel goed nieuws, heel blij nieuws! Er is familieuitbreiding op komst! Ja ja! Alleen niet bij ons, maar bij mijn neef en z'n vriendin! Wij vinden het allemaal geweldig en zijn superblij voor hen! En ook m'n kleine nichtje Phoebe van 6, die wist het werkelijk zo ontroerend mooi te verwoorden, ze zei tegen m'n zus: "mama, in mijn hartje zit al mijn liefde voor mijn hele familie en ik heb nog meer dan genoeg voor het nieuwe babietje". Hier smelt je hart toch van? En natuurlijk heb ik voor hen ook iets gemaakt, dit babyalbumpje met van die lieve kleine kousjes erin:

Allright, I owe you girls an explanation about my blog title. I've got some very good news, some very happy news! There's going to be a new addition to the family! Oh yes! And no, it's not my DH and I, but my cousin and his girlfriend! We're all so excited and thrilled for the both of them! My darling 6-year-old niece Phoebe really gave such a touching expression to her feelings, she told my sister (her mother):"mummy, my little heart contains all the love for my entire family and I've got more than plenty left for the little baby". Doesn't this make you melt? Of course I already made them a little something, this baby albumcard containing some cute little socks:

French Vaudeville Theatre

Ook lekker aan het genieten van de Pasen? Heerlijk dat we nog een extra dagje vrij hebben! Ben vanmorgen weer bijtijds m'n hobbykamertje ingedoken en heb dit mini- theatertje gemaakt uit kraftpapier. Twee halve cirkels vormen het podium en je kunt 'm net zo hoog of laag maken als je zelf wilt, ligt aan de hoogte van de strip papier die je tussen de twee halve cirkels plakt. Deze prachtige Franse dame heeft haar boa om, de kaartjes zijn verkocht, dus de show kan beginnen! Jullie houden hopelijk wel van Franse muziek? La Vie en Rose? Ik laat het zingen en dansen graag aan deze chansonnière over, dansen lukt me vrij aardig, maar zingen?? Oef... kan ik jullie echt niet aan doen... Maak er weer een mooie dag van!!
Did you have a good Easter? We are fortunate in having another day off today! So I woke up early this morning and created this mini theatre out of kraft paper. Two half-circles form the stage, you can make it as high or low as you please, this depends on the desired height of the strip of paper that you glue between the half-circles. This fabulous French lady is wearing her boa, the tickets have been sold, so let the show begin! Hope you like a little bit of French music? La Vie en Rose? I'll leave the dancing and singing to this chansonnière though, I'm not a bad dancer if I may say so, but singing?? Ouch... couldn't do that to you girls... Have a lovely day!!

Easter Treats

Met Pasen komen mijn zus, zwager en twee nichtjes gezellig bij ons eten en natuurlijk worden er dan paaseieren verstopt, vind het zelf namelijk veeeeeeeeeeeeeels te leuk! Denk toch maar dat ik manlief ga vragen om ze te verstoppen, kan ik lekker meezoeken ;-)
Heb voor m'n twee nichtjes deze Paascadeautjes gemaakt, heel simpel, van wc-rolletjes en bierviltjes (jullie herkennen de vormen vast wel ;-) Heb de afbeelding van dit schattige paasmeisje gevonden op Deviantart, ze is getekend door Yampuff, die heeft zulke mooie plaatjes! Ik ga jullie allemaal alvast hele fijne Paasdagen toewensen! Veel plezier bij het zoeken naar het gouden ei ;-)

At Easter my sister, BIL and two nieces are coming over for diner at our place and of course we will hide Easter eggs. Couldn't possibly NOT do it, for I like it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyy too much! Think I'm going to ask hubby to hide them, so I can join the girls in their search, LOL!

I've made these little Easter treats for my nieces, real easy peasy, out of toilet rolls and beer coasters (I'm sure you will all recognize the shapes ;-) I found the image of this cute Easter bunny girl on Deviantart, she's drawn by Yampuff who has the most amazing images! Happy Easter to you all! And have fun hunting those (golden?) eggs!
