Old Country Chapel...

Spannend!
I'm so excited! Today's my first post as designer for Poppystamps! It's lovely to be part of this wonderful team! We all love to work with those exquisitely fine dies that Poppystamps and Memory Box bring to the craft markets. Their intricate designs make them even more fun to use!
For my very first project I am taking you back in time a bit. You probably all know those fine old country chapel walls that you see in Europe a lot, the UK has plenty of them, as do Germany and France, even my country the Netherlands has a few. I love the peace and quiet that surround such chapels and churches and so I decided to recreate a similar wall. Sometimes they're overgrown with lovely green mosses, hence the distressed wall and abundance of branches and leaves.
Thank you for watching and enjoy all the wonderful creations my fellow team mates will have in store for you!
And since we're talking dies, why not hop over to Teresa from My Crafty Heart. She has another special offer this week: 20% discount off all dies from Marianne Design and Cheery Lynn!

Travel in Prada...

Where shall I begin? I've been hiding a little secret from you all, but I can finally share it with you: I'm one of the new members of the Poppystamps Design TeamPoppystamps.com is a division of Memory Box, you know, the company that makes those fabulous and intricate dies, yes! I'm so excited! You can follow us on our Poppystamps blogFacebook and Pinterest. My first post will be on July 27th next but you can already enjoy the lovely work of my teamies, in alphabetical order:
Ira Huberts (yes, that's me ;-)
Jeanne Jachna (our wonderful coordinator!)
and last but most certainly not least

But I did make a little something for today ;-) A while ago I won a challenge over at the very versatile City Crafter's challenge blog with this creation and I was invited by Kirsty to be this week's guest designer. It's always major fun to be able to create something for this wonderful blog, for the girls are so talented and supersweet! This week's theme is On the Road and you can find the inspirational photo above.
When you're travelling, you should be doing it in style, right? So you'll be taking your pretty evening dresses in a genuine Prada suitcase, for we all know that the Devil wears Prada ;-) And let's be honest, the dresses from the 40-ies and 50-ies were soooooo much more feminine! Here you can find the template that I used for making the suitcase; I used the lovely papers from Teresa Collins (Far and Away). There's nothing I like better than travelling and exploring the world, so I'm gone again, Bon Voyage! And thanks for having me again girls!

Christmas in Summer...

Gosh, it's so hot outside, and here am I, posting this icy card, lol! Oh well, there is a first for everything, even Christmas cards! So there we are! A little while ago Ignacio from Nicecrane Designs generously offered me a free image from her beautiful store, needless to say I chose this nostalgic image which has an amazing Dickens feel! Thanks again dear Ignacio, love the images (yes, they come in a set!) I coloured my image with Spectrum Noir markers and used quite a lot of greys for I wanted to create those dark days before Christmas. I added some frantage for that 'snowy look'. A couple of girls are shooting curious looks towards this fancy lady... Where is she heading... will she be Christmas shopping maybe? Thank goodness we first get to enjoy this wonderful summer before we can start thinking of Christmas!

And look at how spoilt I am again! Both Wendy and Miranda sent me such gorgeous giveaway goodies! You're both such treasures! Thanks again sweeties! I won Wendy's CCCB giveaway, just look at these romantic gifts, that gorgeously made pouch with the stunning lace rosette, lovely ribbons, stamps and other adornments, dreamily pretty!
And furthermore, I was one of the 5 lucky winners of Miranda's giveaway, this fabulous inspirational catalogue by Stampin' Up! A truly beautiful book to peruse; it contains some magnificent stamps that I've already added to my wish list ;-)

A Rose Garden...

I was picking some flowers in our backyard last week, guess whom I met, you wouldn't believe it, but it was the one and only Marie Antoinette ;-) I said, hey girl, how good of you to drop round! Would you like some tea with cake? Oh yes, please, let us eat cake, she said, why not. So whilst we were chatting away, I asked her if she would pose for my friend's birthday card. Doesn't she look totally elegant? The gorgeous, romantic and flowery papers of First Edition (Floral Pavilion) really suit her pefectly. You can now buy this paper pad and save 25% at My Crafty Heart's. And while you're there, you also might want to check out the latest dies that Teresa has in store for you, watch out, 'cause they're soooo addictive!

On the Beach...

What do you do when you can't find any flipflops in your favourite summer colours? Why not make them yourselves? We're finally enjoying summer in our country, oh, the pleasure of having the warmth of the sun! So take out those lovely summer dresses, put on those flip-flops and have fun! For my flip-flops (unfortunately made of paper) I took plain white 200 gr. paper and started stamping the motives with Versamagic Purple Hydrangea. Next I coloured them with my Spectrum Noir Markers. I then sponged Distress Ink Tumbled Glass all over and added some white dots with my Sharpie White Pen. Of course real flip-flops need to have a touch of bling, so I added all kinds of sequins as well. Enjoy the lovely weather, I'll be coming round to pay you girls a visit this evening when it has cooled down a bit ;-)
Oh yes, and here's a tip for some of you? Sometimes Bloglovin' doesn't allow you to open the comment screen immediately, in those cases I just right click on my mouse and voilà, there's your comment screen!
