Alaaf!! Helau!!

Nog een weekje en dan barst het Carnaval hier weer los ;-) Kunnen we weer gezellig naar de optocht kijken hiervoor in de straat! Omdat het wel weer eens tijd werd voor een swap met vriendinnetje Odetta én het dus binnenkort carnaval is, kwam ik op het idee om een atc-swap te doen:
Another week before Carnival ;-) Groups of dressed up people will parade our street! So much fun! Since it was about time for another swap with my friend Odetta and it being almost Carnival, I got the idea to do an ATC swap:

En deze kreeg ik van Odetta terug, gaaf zijn ze hè? - And I received these from Odetta, aren't they cool?

En omdat ik het gezellig vind om nog wat extra versiering voor in huis te hebben, heb ik het narrenthema nog maar wat verder uitgediept. De afbeelding komt van Deviantart en is van de artiest Bita Smietana, heb deze slechts heel lichtjes ingekleurd en voorzien van glitters. De randen omgekruld, belletjes opgeplakt, omdat dit me doet denken aan de muts van een nar ;-)

And since I like to have some more adornments in the house, I took the jester theme a bit further. The image is from Deviantart (by the artist Bita Smietana). I coloured this only slightly and added some glitter. I curled the edges and added the bells, since I wanted to mimic a jester's hat ;-)

Swaps

Van de week werd ik blij verrast door Odetta (Somerset Garden); ze stuurde me nl. een stempel op met de afbeelding van haar opa, oma en moeder als klein meisje. Odetta en ik delen allebei onze Aziatische afkomst, zij heeft Thais bloed, ik Indisch. Ik vond het zo'n eer dat ik met haar familiestempel iets mocht maken, ik wou uiteraard wel in het orientaalse sfeertje blijven en heb uiteindelijk een muurhanger voor haar gemaakt. Met wierook erbij!

Last week I received happy mail from  Odetta (Somerset Garden); she sent me a rubber stamp with the image of her grandparents and her mother when she was little. Odetta and I both have Asian ancestors, she's of Thai origin, I have Indonesian blood. I felt so honoured that she allowed me to create something with her family stamp; of course I didn't want to steer away from the oriental theme and so I decided to make this wall hanger for her. With incense sticks!

En samen met Ana uit Brazilië heb ik 5 atc's geruild, zij maakte deze geweldige set:

ATC swap

We hadden laatst een ATC swap bij MAMA met als thema "Tea with Marie". Dit zijn mijn allereerste ATC's geworden, vond het heel leuk om te doen ook al zijn de kaartjes zo klein dat je niet veel ruimte hebt om mee te werken. Ik heb mijn "Paris" achtergrond (een stempel van Stampinback.nl) eerst gestempeld met Versamark en geembossed met witte embossingpoeder. Daarna diverse kleuren Distress Inkt aangebracht en met water vermengd, tegelijkertijd ook nog wat Perfect Pearls voor de mooie glans (die je helaas op foto's altijd slecht ziet). Ik vond het leuk om ook iets met de achterkant te doen, dus heb ik Marie op de voorkant geplaatst, ze roept of Louis thee komt drinken met haar, maar ja, hun kasteel is zo groot dat hij aan de andere kant van het kasteel/ATC'tje thee zit te drinken!

We were having an ATC swap at MAMA, the theme being "Tea with Marie". These are my very first ATC's ever, I really enjoyed making them, even though you've only got a small working space. I first stamped my "Paris" background (stamp from Stampinback.nl) with Versamark and white embossed it. I then applied various colours of Distress Ink, mixed them with water, added some Perfect Pearls for a nice shimmer (which you can't see in the pics I'm afraid). I decided to add a little fun and made a background as well, so here's Marie calling Louis to tea, but since their abode is so huge he's on the other side of the castle/ATC card having a sip of his tea! Hope you like it :-)
