A Rose Garden...

Ik was achterin de tuin wat bloemen aan het plukken om op vaas te zetten, 3 x raden wie ik daar ook tegenkwam, ja ja, onze eigen Marie Antoinette ;-) Ik zeg, meid, wat leuk dat je langs komt! Afijn, we zitten gezellig te keuvelen, heb ik haar meteen gevraagd om even te poseren voor de verjaardagskaart voor mijn vriendin, staat ze er niet elegant op? Keep calm and be a princess...

Heerlijk, het is weer weekend! Morgen krijgen we gezellig eters over de vloer, dus gaan we straks alvast e.e.a. voorbereiden. Hopen dat het zonnetje zich dan nog een beetje wil laten zien, kunnen we lekker buiten eten ;-) Heb door alle werkdrukte van de afgelopen week vandaag iets heel eenvoudigs om te laten zien, een deurhanger met een afbeelding van onze voormalige Koningin Juliana als klein meisje erop. Vond deze prachtige afbeelding in een oude Flow. Heb de bloem gemaakt van koffiefilters, wat is dat toch fijn materiaal om mee te werken! De mooie stickpin was een cadeautje van vriendinnetje Odetta. Maak er een mooi, zonnig, liefdevol weekend van allemaal!!
I love it, it's the weekend again! Tomorrow we will be having dinner guests, so we'll start our preparations today. Let's just hope the sun will come out a bit, so that we can eat outdoors! Due to our heavy workload last week, I've got something very plain and simple to show you, a doorhanger with the photo of our former Queen Juliana when she was a little girl. I found her lovely image in one of my old Flow magazines. I made the big flower with coffee filters, love this material! The beautiful stickpin was a gift from lovely friend Odetta. May this become a wonderful and sunny weekend, filled with lots of love!!

Mother's Day Flowers

Vandaag Moederdag. Altijd weer een bijzondere dag voor alle moeders, ook al zou het natuurlijk iedere dag gewoon Moederdag moeten zijn (ook al heb ik zelf geen kinderen). Ik heb helaas geen moeder meer die ik kan verwennen, maar dat wil niet zeggen dat ik er niet bij stil sta. Wou vandaag ook mijn moeder symbolisch bloemen geven en heb deze Franse bloemenkar voor haar gemaakt, vol met bloemen, precies zoals ze het graag zag. Alles is gemaakt met behulp van stansen, hieronder zal ik precies vertellen met welke. De basis van de kar is gemaakt met de Spellbinders Nestabilities Timeless Rectangles. Misschien een leuk cadeautje voor jezelf vandaag: wat mooie nieuwe stansen? Teresa van My Crafty Heart heeft buiten een grote collectie aan o.a. Today is Mother's Day. Always a special day for every mother, although it should be Mother's Day every day, of course (even though I don't have any kids). Unfortunately my mother passed away several years ago and so I cannot spoil her anymore, but that doesn't mean I'm not thinking about her. I wanted to symbolically give my mom some flowers and so I made her this French flower cart, filled with all kinds of flowers, exactly how she liked them. Every single piece is made with dies, I'll sum up which ones I used below. I made the base of the cart with Spellbinders Nestabilities Timeless Rectangles. The Little Mermaid

Zo leuk, mijn kleine nichtje Phoebe van 6 mag aanstaande zondag op voor haar B-diploma! Ze heeft gevraagd of wij dan komen kijken en ja, natuurlijk zijn wij van de partij! Heb dan ook een bijpassend kaartje voor haar gemaakt om haar succes toe te wensen en omdat ze nogal weg is van Ariel mocht die natuurlijk niet ontbreken (de tekening is van Deviantart en van de hand van de geweldige artiest Yampuff). Het plaatje is ingekleurd met Spectrum Noir Markers. Het is een front step card geworden.
How wonderful, my little 6-year-old niece Phoebe is taking her second swimming exams this coming Sunday! She has asked us whether we'd like to be present and yes, of course we'll be there! So I had to made her an appropriate card to wish her luck. She loves Ariel, so it was quite logical to use her image (which I found on Deviantart, it's a beautiful drawing by the wonderful artist Yampuff). I've coloured the image with Spectrum Noir Markers. French Ballet Cabinet

Niet zo lang geleden heb ik dit Franse theatertje gemaakt, maar achter de coulissen gebeurt er natuurlijk nog veel meer. Voordat de show kan beginnen, moeten de kostuums worden gecontroleerd en klaar gehangen. Vond dus dat er een klein cabinetje bij moest komen voor de tutuutjes van de ballerina's. Er zijn weer fantastisch nieuwe Spellbinders uit en hiermee heb ik het kastje gemaakt, ook de kastdeurtjes. Ga gauw kijken bij My Crafty Heart, want er zijn weer zulke gave stansen verkrijgbaar, ik heb de mijne al besteld! De jurkjes zijn gemaakt met het prachtige nieuwe lint van Melissa Frances.

Not so long ago I made this little French theatre. But of course so much more is going on backstage. Before the show begins, costumes need to be checked and prepared. So I thought it would be totally neat to make a small French ballet cabinet for the ballet tutus. Recently Spellbinders has released some fantastic new dies and I used these to make this cabinet, including the cabinet doors. Why don't you go and check out the new dies @ My Crafty Heart, I ordered them as soon as I saw them! I made the dresses with the beautiful Melissa Frances Ribbons.

We hadden weer zin in een swap en het thema van Steampunk is dit keer door Odetta bedacht. Wat is dit toch een aparte stijl, die prachtige Victoriaanse invloeden spreken me enorm aan! Ik heb gekozen voor een uitgeknipte hoge gepimpte hoed en vond het Graphic45 Steampunk Debutante papier hier buitengewoon geschikt voor. Heb een soort corsetje gemaakt en natuurlijk mogen de verschillende metaalelementen niet ontbreken! De opgerolde bloemen zijn gemaakt met de stans Spellbinders Spiral Blossom One die bij My Crafty Heart voor een hele scherpe prijs leverbaar is. Binnenin wat grote parels. Heb nog een vrouwenkopje uitgeknipt en in een brad geplaatst en voorzien van een laklaag (Glossy Accents (Ranger). De tekststempel is van Scrollswork.
We felt like another swap and the theme of Steampunk was set by Odetta this time. Oh, I just love this style, I'm really very partial to those fine Victorian influences! I made an embellished top hat which was cut by hand and used the most appropriate papers of Graphic 45 (Steampunk Debutante). I made a kind of corset and added all kinds of metal embellies. The rolled up flowers were made with the Spellbinders Spiral Blossom One die, which is available from My Crafty Heart at an extremely competitive price! Inside some huge pearls. I've also cut out a female head, placed it inside a brad and applied some Glossy Accents (Ranger) to it. The text stamp is from Scrollswork.

Witchcraft

Geloven jullie in spoken en heksen? Ik wel! Zeker sinds m'n lamp kapot sprong toen ik deze tag op de foto wou zetten ;-) Het paars is dus op de foto helaas lila geworden en natuurlijk was de heks al met de post weggevlogen voordat ik een nieuwe foto kon maken. Die bezems van tegenwoordig hebben ook allemaal turbo-motoren! Deze sexy heks vond ik op Deviantart (getekend door Sephiramy) en heb haar naar de man van m'n vriendin gestuurd die morgen jarig is. Ben benieuwd of zij hem weet te betoveren en in haar spinnenweb weet te vangen ;-)

 Do you girls believe in ghosts and witches? I most certainly do! Especially since my lamp went bust when I was trying to photograph this tag ;-) So unfortunately the deep purple has turned into lilac and of course the witch flew off by mail before I even got the chance to take a new picture. Those modern brooms all have turbo engines! I found this sexy witch on Deviantart (art by Sephiramy) and sent her off to my friend's husband who'll be celebrating his birthday tomorrow. Will she be able to enchant him and ensnare her in her web ;-)

Ik kon het niet laten om onze hal toch nog een beetje in Halloweensfeer te brengen en heb nog een krans gemaakt en een dame gedecoreerd:

 I couldn't resist bringing some Halloween atmosphere into our hallway and so I made this wreath and decorated a lady's head:

De krans is bekleed met zwarte stof en versierd met herftstbladeren, tule, kant en allerlei andere frutsels die ik hier nog had liggen:
I wrapped some black fabric around the wreath and dressed it with autumn leaves, tulle, lace and all kinds of riffraff that was lying around:

En we blijven nog even in het Halloween-sfeertje, want van de week vond ik deze prachtige envelop uit Finland op de deurmat, moet je die stempels zien! Te gek hè? - And some more Halloween to come, for last week I received this gorgeous envelope all the way from Finland on our doorstep, just look at those stamps! Aren't they way too cool?

En dit geweldige Halloween-pakket heb ik gewonnen bij Niina van Thrify Finn, met prachtig papier, gave stempels, mooi lint en washi-tape. Niina heeft een supergaaf blog en een geweldig gevoel voor humor, neem maar eens een kijkje bij haar, zal ze leuk vinden! Nogmaals heel hartelijk bedankt!!
And here's what I found inside, these amazing Halloween goodies which I won from Niina (Thrifty Finn), with the coolest of papers, stamps, beautiful ribbons and washi tape. Niina has a supercool blog and a marvellous sense of humour, why not pay her a visit, she'd love that! Thanks again for everything!

Magische wezentjes, elfjes... Deze schattige Mountain Lily van Whimsy Stamps is zó feeëriek en uitermate geschikt voor de Kerst, heb vandaag dus een kerstkaart (alweer ééntje voor de voorraad ;-) Ik heb haar ingekleurd met Derwent Coloursoft en voor de achtergrond wat decorating chalks gebruikt. En natuurlijk nog wat glittertjes voor op haar vleugeltjes zodat ze het bos mooi kan verlichten 's nachts!

 Magical creatures, fairies... This adorable Mountain Lily of Whimsy Stamps  is so magical and totally appropriate for Christmas, hence the Christmas card today (another one for my stock ;-) I coloured her with Derwent Coloursoft and used some decorating chalks for the background. And of course some tiny sparkly glitters on her wings so that she can light up the woods at night!
