Graphic 45 in Wonderland

Ik liep al een hele tijd rond met het idee om "iets" met Alice in Wonderland te gaan doen en daarvoor vond ik het Graphic 45 papier Playtimes Past erg geschikt. Ik heb ook nog Fashionista    ("Perfumeries") gebruikt.
M'n bedoeling was om het geheel eruit te laten zien als een boek. Ik heb diverse quotes gebruikt (de uitspraak op de rug van het boek is van Alice) en de klok aan de voorzijde (quote is van Mr. Rabbit). De bloem links- onder is gemaakt met m'n scallop nestabilities (papier is "Childs Play").
De koningin is geembost met de Cuttlebug folder "Queen of Hearts". Ik heb hiervoor cardstock gebruikt die ik vervolgens weer heb beinkt met diverse kleuren. De klok is een "Playtimes Past Tag", ik heb hier wordart omheen verwerkt.
Ik wou de binnenkant eruit laten zien als een geheime tuin. En achter het grote huis gaat de wereld van Alice schuil. Twee kleine nieuwsgierige snoetjes kijken naar buiten om te zien wie er op bezoek komt. Ik heb Alice op het theekopje (van the Graphics Fairy) geplaatst en heb diverse items uit haar Wonderland geplaatst. Jammer genoeg was het boek te klein om er nog meer in te plaatsen. Alice en Mr. Rabbit zijn kleurplaten die ik heb ingekleurd met Derwent Coloursoft.

I wanted to “do something” with the Alice in Wonderland theme all along, and I found that the Playtimes Past papers worked wonders for me.   I also used scraps of Fashionista ("Perfumeries").I specifically wanted to have the outside look like a book; I even used several famous quotes (book spine, quote is Alice’s) and clock embellishment on the front of the book (quote is Mr. Rabbit’s).  I made the flower in the left bottom corner by using my scallop nestabilities (paper is "Childs Play") and folding the petals together.The queen is embossed with the cuttlebug folder Queen of Hearts, I used cardstock which I inked with several colours.  The clock embellishment is a Playtimes Past Tag, I worked circular word art around it.In my view the inside should be somehow like a secret garden. And the main house hides what lies beneath, Alice’s world. Two curious faces are looking outside to see who’s coming to visit them and their secrets. I placed Alice on a teacup (from the Graphics Fairy) and tried to insert several symbols of her Wonderland, but since it’s only a small book I couldn’t put anything else in there anymore.  Alice and Mr. Rabbit are coloring pages, I used Derwent coloursoft pencils to color them.

Marie Antoinette wall hanger

Voor m'n serie Marie Antoinette heb ik deze muurhanger gemaakt. Ik heb voor de ondergrond een grote barokstempel met Versamark gestempeld en vervolgens geembost met transparant embossing poeder. Hierna heb ik Ranger Perfect Pearls Heirloom Gold en Berry Twist nat met een kwast aangebracht op het papier. Jammer genoeg zie je de glans niet op de foto... Na het drogen heb ik Ancient Page inkt gebruikt om o.a. de afdrukken "France" en "Style is eternal" te maken. Daarna heb ik het geheel versierd met lint, kant, veertjes en zelfgemaakte organza bloemen. De vlinder is met Versamark op vellum gestempeld, goud geembost en ingekleurd met Perga Color. Ik doe mee met de volgende uitdagingen:

I made this wall hanger for my Marie Antoinette series. I stamped a baroque motive on white cardstock, embossed it with transparant embossing powder. I then applied Ranger Perfect Pearls Heirloom Gold and Berry Twist. Too bad you can't see the glossy shine in the picture... Once dry I used Ancient Page ink to stamp "France" and "Style is eternal". Graphic 45 March Guest Designer

Enkele maanden geleden ben ik door Candy Rosenberg van Graphic45 benaderd om March Guest Designer te worden en nu is het dan zover. Als kick-off heb ik met het prachtige Fashionista papier dit Victoriaanse laarsje, handtasje en bijpassende tag gemaakt. Ik heb nu eenmaal "iets" met schoenen (zie voorgaande posts), ach ja, als je bijnaam "Imelda" is, dan zal dat wel kloppen! 
Ik ben nog bezig met een paar andere items, uiteraard ook gemaakt met behulp van Graphic45 papier, maar dat zien jullie binnenkort wel! Kijk voor het volledige artikel door Susan Dupre op Graphic45 (en laat je ook inspireren door de vele andere schitterende werken van collega's).

A few months ago Candy Rosenberg of Graphic45 asked me if I would like to become their March Guest Designer and I accepted that invitation with pleasure. As a kick-off I used the fabulous Fashionista paper to create this Victorian fashion boot, purse and matching tag. I simply love shoes (see previous posts) and oh well, if your nickname is "Imelda", then that's probably the case, LOL!

Marie Antoinette Mail Art Swap

Sinds kort zit ik bij de Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group. Ineke heeft me zo gek gekregen, ha ha ha! Maar wát is het leuk om items te maken voor elkaar! Ik doe mee aan de swap "manchetten"; we moeten er eentje maken in de 'landelijke' stijl, dus een beetje shabby/chic. En dit is-t-ie geworden (de eerste dan, want het werkt érg verslavend om met mooie stof, kant en lintjes aan de gang te gaan!):

I recently joined the Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group. Ineke talked me into this, LOL! It's really big fun to create items for each other! I made this "cuff" for our art group swap; we have to make one 'country style', slightly shabby/chic. And this is what I came up with (the first one, because you can really get hooked on making them!). I love using nice fabrics, lace and ribbons!

Marie Antoinette

Er zijn van die vrouwen die enorm tot je verbeelding spreken; één van hen is Marie Antoinette. Zij was immers de laatste koningin van Frankrijk en o.a. haar gedrag (de 'cake-rel') heeft tot de Franse Revolutie geleid. Ik heb in mijn werk voor ARTSpecially geprobeerd om dit stukje geschiedenis te vertalen. De lezers van nr. 9 hebben o.a. vast ook mijn Eiffeltoren en laagjestaart gezien. Misschien willen jullie dit ook wel namaken? Laat dan onder de berichten jullie e-mailadres achter, ik stuur jullie dan graag het patroon en werkbeschrijving toe.

Vorig jaar heb ik een hele serie Marie Antoinette items gemaakt; hier een bewerkt blikje. Heb als basis het papier White Outs Tiffany's gebruikt.

There are women in history who leave an indelible impression; one of them is Marie Antoinette. She was the last Queen of France and the 'bread riot' evolved into a central cause of the French Revolution.  In my work for ARTSpecially I tried to capture this piece of history. The readers of nr. 9 will probably also have seen my Eiffel tower and layered cake. Perhaps you'd like to make them yourselves? If so, please leave your email address in a comment. Tutorial schoentje - Tutorial shoe

Ik heb inmiddels al van diverse mensen het verzoek gekregen om een werkbeschrijving voor het schoentje dat op de cover van ARTSpecially nr. 9 staat, dus hier vind je het patroontje. Het idee voor dit schoentje is al vorig jaar zomer geboren. Ik had nl. een paar heerlijke zomermuiltjes maar deze hadden hun beste tijd wel gehad en met pijn in m'n hart moest ik hier dus afstand van doen. Nu zat het binnenzooltje los en ik vond de vorm zo sierlijk dat een ideetje gauw was geboren. Ik heb het alleen wat spitser gemaakt en er zelf een bijpassend bovenkantje bij getekend. Je hebt 2 zooltjes nodig en 1 bovenkant (al voorzien van vouwlijnen) om het schoentje te maken. Neem een stukje ijzerdraad en bevestig dit tussen de 2 zooltjes (maak vooraf in de hak van het onderste zooltje een klein gaatje waardoor je het ijzerdraad haalt). Plak de 2 zooltjes op elkaar  en buig het geheel in de gewenste vorm. Wil je een lagere hak? Knip dan gewoon een stukje ijzerdraad dat uit de hak steekt af. Versieren doe je met mooie kralen. Leef je uit! Hier nog wat voorbeelden:

Ik doe mee met de challenge bij Bizzy Becs, "Create a little something" en aangezien dit een "little" schoentje is, leek me dat wel leuk! En bij AiFactory is the challenge "3D". En bij Etsy Inspired (Enchanted Beehive) zag ik mezelf al heerlijk badderen met zo'n prachtig stuk zeep en mijn schoentje met "SAVONS" opdruk past daar best goed bij, toch?

Several people requested a tutorial on the small shoe which is on the cover of ARTSpecially nr. 9, so here you can find the template. The idea for this shoe was born last summer. I had a pair of wonderful summer slippers but they were worn out and I felt sorry for having to let them go. The inner sole was loose and I loved the shape of it, so a new idea was born. I only made it a little pointier and I also made the top part. You need 2 soles and 1 top part (folding lines included) in order to make the shoe. Take a piece of iron wire and place it between the 2 soles (you will also need to make a small hole in the lower sole's heel through which you can pull the iron wire). Glue the 2 soles together. Afterwards you can easily bend the now 2-layered sole in the shape you want. Would you like to have a lower heel? Just cut off a little piece of iron wire sticking out of the heel. Decorate with nice beads. Eat your heart out! Above you'll find some more examples.
This is my submission for the Bizzy Becs challenge, "Create a little something" and since this is a "little" shoe I thought it would be fun participating! I'm also entering this for the AiFactory challenge "3D". And Etsy Inspired (Enchanted Beehive) really triggered my imagination. They have such gorgeous soaps and I think my little shoe with "SAVONS" print on it would go pretty well together in your bathroom, don't you think? 

ARTSpecially

ARTSpecially nr. 9 komt er aan. Vanaf 19 februari is hij o.a. te koop bij Scrapbookdepot. Voor mij is dit nummer heel bijzonder, want er staat o.a. een deel van mijn werk in! Ik vind het ook helemaal geweldig dat mijn schoentje de voorpagina van het blad mag sieren. Ik ben erg benieuwd wat jullie ervan vinden en stel reacties, positieve én negatieve (want daar leer je alleen maar van) erg op prijs. Ik zou zeggen ga 'm halen en geniet ervan!

ARTSpecially nr. 9 is on it's way. As of 19th February you can buy it at e.g. Scrapbookdepot. This issue is very special to me, because I'm featured on it with part of my work! And I also think it's absolutely great for my shoe to be presented on the cover of this magazine. I'm curious to hear what you all think about it and I appreciate your reactions, both positive and negative (you can only learn from them :-) So I'd like to say to you all "go and get it and enjoy it!" 

Carnaval! Mardi Gras!

Hier in het zuiden is het carnaval gisteren al losgebarsten en straks komt hier de optocht in onze straat voorbij, dus dat wordt zeker genieten van al die kleuren! Gisteravond nog gauw een paar maskers gemaakt voor de fun. Veel plezier voor degenen die het gaan vieren! Vond het wel een toepasselijke inzending voor Cute Daisy May, waar de challenge "Bright and Cheerful" is.

Here in the south carnival has already started yesterday and later today we will be having a big parade in our street. We'll be enjoying all these colours, no doubt! Last night I made these masks, just for fun. To those of you who will be celebrating: enjoy yourselves! I thought this would make a nice submission for the Cute Daisy May challenge "Bright and Cheerful".

Oké, nog ééntje dan! - Ok, last one!

Beloofd, dit is het laatste Valentijnskaartje van dit jaar, maar wat is het heerlijk om ze te maken voor de mensen van wie je zoveel houdt. Dit is mijn inzending voor de challenge bij Stamptacular Sunday met als thema van deze week "Love Is In The Air". Ik heb het een beetje letterlijk genomen, want het engeltje zit immers bovenop de naaimachine :-) En bij de Pixie Cottage is de challenge "Love Theme", dus ook die uitdaging ga ik graag aan!

Promise, this will be the last Valentine's card of this year, but it's just feels great to make them for the people you love so much. So here's my card for the challenge at Stamptacular Sunday, theme of the week being "Love Is In The Air". I took it a bit literally since the little angel is sitting on top of the sewing machine :-) And at the Pixie Cottage the challenge is "Love Theme", so I'm in for this one, too! Thanks for looking! 

Valentijn - Valentine

Valentijnsdag, ik kan er geen genoeg van krijgen. Ik heb voor dit liefdeshandje het papier Vintage Valentine van Fancy Pants Designs gebruikt. De 'ring' aan de vinger heb ik gemaakt met uit hetzelfde papier (achterzijde) gestanste bloemen (retro pons). Door bij ieder bloemetje er één blaadje af te halen en vast te zetten, krijg je een roosachtige bloem. Dit is mijn inzending voor de challenges bij Double Dutch "Be My Valentine" en Creative Craft Challenges, "Roses are red".
Valentine's Day, simply can't get enough of it. For this love hand I used Vintage Valentine papers by Fancy Pants Designs. The 'ring' on its finger was made of the same paper (backside); I punched several flowers with the retro punch. Of each flower I took off petals and glued them together into a rose. I participated in the Double Dutch challenge "Be My Valentine" and Creative Craft Challenge, "Roses are red".

Chinese New Year

Dit jaar is 14 februari voor heel veel mensen een speciale dag. Zo is het uiteraard Valentijnsdag maar ook Chinees Nieuwjaar én Carnaval! Voor Chinese kennissen heb ik een Nieuwjaarskaart heb gemaakt, en het leek me leuk om deze in te sturen voor de challenge bij La-La Land Crafts "Red". Ik heb diverse stempeltjes gebruikt en goud geembost. De plaatjes zijn met markers ingekleurd.

This year February 14th will be a special day to a lot of people. Of course it's Valentine's Day, but it's also Chinese New Year and Carnival! I made this card for Chinese acquaintances and I thought it would be fun to participate in the La-La Land Crafts challenge "Red". I used several small stamps and embossed them with gold powder. I coloured the children with markers.

Hermitage

Enkele weken geleden waren we in Amsterdam, nog net op tijd om in de Hermitage de prachtige tentoonstelling "Aan het Russische hof" te zien. De meest bewerkelijke hofkostuums, handtasjes en schoenen zijn er te bewonderen. Wanneer dan in de hofzaal de balmuziek begint, doe je spontaan een klein walsje. Aangezien die mooie antieke waaiers niet te betalen zijn, heb ik er zelf maar ééntje gemaakt :-) De oorspronkelijk blauwe bloem heb ik in het bleekwater gelegd, ik wilde de kleur vervagen. Nog een beetje bijgewerkt met de juiste stempelinkt en voilà!

Several weeks ago we were in Amsterdam, still in time to visit the Hermitage exhibition "At the Russian Court". You can admire the most elaborate court dresses, purses and shoes. Once the music starts playing in the ballroom, you cannot help but dance a spontaneous waltz. Since real antique fans are out of my reach, I made one myself :-) I put the flower (which was blue at first) in a little bleech, I wanted the colour to fade. I then applied some ink in the right colour and voilà!

Valentijn - Valentine

Het is alweer bijna Valentijnsdag! De winkels zijn goed gevuld met bloemen, hartjes en knuffeldieren, ziet er altijd erg gezellig uit moet ik zeggen. Ik heb voor deze 'kaart' letters in Word vergroot (leuke lettertypen vind je te kust en te keur op het net) en op cardstock geplakt. Daarna heb ik de letters weer beplakt met bijpassend scrappapier. De stempelafdrukjes zijn van Alota. Ik heb deze kaart ingestuurd voor de Crafty Creations Challenges waar het thema "valentijn en liefde" centraal staat. Ook doe ik mee aan de One Stop Craft Challenge "Love & Kisse's" en de ISB Challenge "Hearts". En aan Dutch Dare Card challenge DDCC #71 "Valentine's Day Card".

It's almost Valentine's Day! The stores are already filled with flowers, hearts and cuddly toys, always love to see it I must say. For this 'card' I printed letters in Word (you can find great fonts all over the internet) on cardstock. I took some nice scrap paper to embellish the letters. Stamps are by Alota. I participated in the Crafty Creations Challenges, their theme being "valentines or love". I also participated in the One Stop Craft Challenge "Love &Kisse's" and the ISB Challenge "Hearts". And it's also my entry for the Dutch Dare Card challenge DDC #71 "Valentine's Day Card".

Winter

De winter duurt voorlopig nog wel even aan, dus dan mag een winters kaartje niet ontbreken. De digi stempel is van Cuddly Buddly. De 'bontkraag' en wantjes van de beer heb ik met Puffy Velvet Fabric Marker White ingekleurd en met de heating tool verhit. Met Spellbinders zijn het raam en de 'scharnieren' gemaakt.

We're still gripped by winter weather, so here's a 'beary cold' card. The digi stamp is Cuddly Buddly's. I used the Puffy Velvet Fabric Marker White for the 'fur collar' and gloves of the bear and took my heating tool to puff it up. I made the window and 'hinges' with Spellbinders. 

Paris Hilton

Dit kaartje heb ik al enkele dagen klaar, maar ik heb nog helemaal geen tijd gevonden om het te plaatsen. Lief hondje hè? "Paris Hilton" is ingekleurd met Derwent coloursoft. Het achtergrondpapier is van Creative Imaginations (Helen Dardik Flirt). De cardstock komt op de tweede foto te rood over, maar het is cyclaam/rose (zie onderstaande foto)!

I finished this card some days ago, but couldn't find the time to publish it. Isn't this just the cutest little doggie? I used Derwent Coloursoft to colour "Paris Hilton". Papers are by Creative Imaginations (Helen Dardik Flirt). The cardstock looks too red in this second picture, but it is cyclamen/pink (see first picture).

Cuttlebug

Weer eens wat Cuttlebug folders gebruikt voor deze snelle verjaardagskaart. De WordArt is heel eenvoudig zelf te maken (in Word), de embellishments zijn gemaakt met diverse Spellbinders.

I used a few Cuttlebug folders again for this quick birthday card. The WordArt can be easily made (in Word), the embellishments were done with various Spellbinders.

Nieuwe stempels - new stamps (In2stamps)

Er zijn weer schattige nieuwe stempels uit van In2stamps. Zijn ze niet leuk? En je kunt nog meedoen om ze te winnen ook!

Déjà Views

De eerste kaart van het nieuwe jaar is een feit :-) Hiervoor heb ik het papier van Déjà Views - The Sharon Ann Timeless Collection - gebruikt. Ik vind de kleuren erg geschikt voor een mannenkaart. En ik had ook meteen een goede reden om m'n Spellbinders (Fancy Tags, Lattice en Curved Rectangles) weer eens fijn te gebruiken! De WordArt heb ik ooit ergens op het internet gevonden, weet helaas niet meer waar...
My first card this year :-) I used papers of Déjà Views - The Sharon Ann Timeless Collection - because I find these colours quite appropriate for a masculine card. And I had a very good reason of using my Spellbinders again! (Fancy Tags, Lattice and Curved Rectangles). I found the WordArt somewhere on the internet, unfortunately I don't know where...

Opbergen van clear stamps - Clear Stamps' storage

Ik heb inmiddels aardig wat kleine clear stamps verzameld, maar had nog niet echt een systeem om ze overzichtelijk op te bergen. Heb daarom bij de Hema deze CD-houder gehaald en gisteravond een beetje gepimpt in de stijl van mijn hobbykamer. De hoesjes zijn niet al te groot, dus een clear stamp is nu zo gepakt! Ben alleen bang dat ik er nog wel eentje meer nodig heb, want ik heb nog een stapeltje stamps liggen :-)

I've collected quite a few small clear stamps so far, but didn't have a 'system' yet to store them properly. So I bought this CD case at Hema's and last night altered it a little so it fits my hobby room. The pockets are fairly sized, so that I can easily take out the stamps. I'm afraid I'll be needing another one, for I still have a stack of stamps lying around :-)

Cadeautjes van The Craftbugs Blog - Gifts from the Craftbugs Blog!

Enige tijd geleden heb ik toch candy gewonnen van The Craftbugs Blog? Lisa Olson is zo lief geweest om mij een heel pakket fantastische stempels en kaarten toe te sturen! Ze had ook nog een schattig kerstkaartje in het pakketje verstopt. Wat een enorme verrassing en een geweldige manier om het nieuwe jaar te beginnen! M'n fantasie slaat al op hol; ik kan hier zulke leuke dingen mee doen! Lisa, nogmaals heel hartelijk bedankt meid!
Do you remember that some time ago I won candy of The Craftbugs Blog? Lisa Olsen is such a dear, she sent me loads of fantastic stamps and cards! She even put in a sweet little Christmas card. What an enormous surprise and such a wonderful way of starting this new year! My fantasy is running away with me already; I will put them to good use! Lisa, thanks a bunch again girl!
