Draaimolen - Merry Go Round

Het is hier volop zomer en daar hoort ook de kermis bij. Als ik aan de kermis denk, dan is mijn eerste gedachte de draaimolen, als kind genoot ik al van die prachtige paarden en versieringen, vooral die antieke en eigenlijk is daar niets in veranderd, ha ha ha! Het moest dus een draaimolen worden en daar horen paarden in. Nu wilde het toeval dat ik enkele dagen geleden een prachtig paard had gevonden op de blog van Beccy, écht zo'n ouderwets paard! En ja, bij een kermis hoort snoep, dus Tilda Lollipop maar op het paard gezet; horen jullie de muziek al?

Over here it's summer time, and no summer without a fair! When I think of the fair, my first thought is the merry go round. As a child I loved those beautiful horses and embellishments, particularly those antique ones. Nothing's changed since then, LOL! So it had to be a merry go round with a horse. I just stumbled upon  Beccy's blog and found one of those fabulous old-fashioned carrousel horses! And of course no fair without candy, so I put Tilda Lollipop on the horse. Can you already hear the music?

Love is in the Air

Voor deze 'kaart' heb ik als basis een hoge hoed gebruikt; ik zocht naar inspiratie en vond die in de hoed die bij ons aan de muur hangt. Als 'aankleding' heb ik mijn ponsen gebruikt en bloemen, vlinders en swirls gestanst. De afbeelding van het bruidje komt van het internet. 

For this 'card' I cut out a top hat. I took my inspiration from the top hat that's hanging on one of our walls. I embellished it with punched flowers, butterflies and swirls. The image of the vintage bride is from the internet.

Queen for a day

Al veel langer loop ik met het idee rond om mijn roos, die ik van koffiefilters heb gemaakt, ergens 'in te stoppen'. Ik kom regelmatig van die prachtige Victoriaanse conusvormige houders tegen, dus toen besloot ik dat het tijd werd om die maar eens te gaan maken! Dit is-ie geworden, het plaatje is volgens mij van Marie afkomstig, ga daar maar eens kijken, zij heeft de mooiste afbeeldingen voor je! Ik heb het geluk dat ik maar een paar meter hoef te lopen voor prachtig kant en band, dus dat heb ik ook daar weer gehaald. Hoop dat jullie 'm mooi vinden?

I made this rose out of coffee filters and I've been wanting to find a good place for it for some time now. I regularly come across those beautiful Victorian tussy mussies, so I decided that it was about time to make one! So here it is, I think the image is from Marie, you should go and have a look at her beautiful blog, you'll be surprised at her gorgeous images! I'm lucky enough to live near a store where they sell beautiful ribbons and laces, so that's where this is coming from, too. Hope you like it?

Als het goed is, is de post bij Ineke al langs geweest; ik moest uiteraard een bedankkaartje voor haar maken, ik heb immers van dat beeldige papier van haar gekregen? Dit is het geworden: Ik heb stevig karton beplakt met het blauwe ruitjesstof en de silhouette mannequin uitgeknipt uit zwart karton. De stempelafdruk is gemaakt met de "centimeters" achtergrond van Stampinback. Hoop dat ze 'm leuk vindt!

If all goes well Mr. Postman has already delivered this card to Ineke. I just had to send her a thank you note for giving me such lovely papers? This is my card for her: I used carton paper on which I glued the blue squares fabric. The silhouette dress form was cut out of black carton paper, the stamp is called "centimetres background" (by Stampinback). Hope she likes it!

Cadeautje - Present

Kijk eens wat ik van mijn lieve blogvriendin Ineke heb gekregen? Ze is net terug uit Venetië en heeft daar o.a. dit prachtige gemarmerde papier gekocht waar ze mij ook wat van heeft opgestuurd. Nogmaals heel hartelijk dank Ineke! Ik ben er superblij mee! Ik heb meteen een vraagje aan Aisling, ik heb geprobeerd om jouw e-mailadres te achterhalen, maar zonder succes. Wil je mij svp contacten?

Look what my dear blog friend Ineke gave me? She just got back from Venice (Italy) and a.o. bought these beautifully marbled papers. She was so extremely generous in sending me some of them. Thanks again Ineke, I'm really very very happy with them! 

High Tea

Ik heb vandaag een jarige vriendin die dol is op thee en gezellig kletsen tijdens een etentje. Ik heb daarom voor haar deze theepot gemaakt met daarbij een uitnodiging voor een lunch bij ons in de tuin van het prachtige kasteel in Helmond. Het papier is van Crea Motion, verder heb ik diverse stempels gebruikt van o.a. Stampinback en Inkadinkado, de bloemen, blaadjes, vlinders en swirl zijn gestanst.

Today one of my friends is celebrating her birthday. She loves tea and having a nice chat during a meal. I made her this teapot and added an invitation (or should I say "inviteation" for lunch in the garden of the beautiful castle in our city of Helmond. Paper is Crea Motion's, I used several stamps of a.o. Stampinback and Inkadinkado, for the flowers, leaves, butterflies and swirl I used several punches.

Voor deze eenvoudige kaart heb ik diverse stempels gebruikt van Tim Holtz (French Market), Stampinback en Inkadinkado (Paperwork Greetings). Ik wou het eruit laten zien alsof je een dag uit je kalender scheurt, vandaar de ponsrand en de getallen, tja, die spreken voor zich lijkt me! En natuurlijk is alles ingekleurd met Distress Inkt.

For this simple card I used various stamps by Tim Holtz (French Market), Stampinback and Inkadinkado (Paperwork Greetings). I wanted this card to look like it's just been ripped out of your calendar, hence the punched edge. And the numbers? Well, I guess that goes without saying! Of course everything is coloured with Distress Ink.

Paris vintage

Alweer een hele tijd geen vintage kaart gemaakt, dus hier is er weer één. De ondergrond heb ik uitgestanst met de Mega Nestabilities Curved Rectangles, Distress Inkt aangebracht. De stempelafdrukken zijn gemaakt met Tim Holtz French Market. De vlinders en swirl gestanst, wat kant aan de rand, de 'envelop'-zijde is gestanst uit Nellie Snellen's Eastern Oval. Deze nog even door de Cuttlebug folder Textile Texture gehaald en beinkt.

It's been a while since my last vintage card, so here's another one. I used the Mega Nestabilities Curved Rectangles for the background and added some Distress Ink. Stamps used are by Tim Holtz, French Market. The butterflies and swirl are equally die-cuts, added some lace on the side. I used Nellie Snellen's Eastern Oval for the 'envelope side' and then added some Textile Texture (Cuttlebug folder) to it and some more ink.

ATC swap

We hadden laatst een ATC swap bij MAMA met als thema "Tea with Marie". Dit zijn mijn allereerste ATC's geworden, vond het heel leuk om te doen ook al zijn de kaartjes zo klein dat je niet veel ruimte hebt om mee te werken. Ik heb mijn "Paris" achtergrond (een stempel van Stampinback.nl) eerst gestempeld met Versamark en geembossed met witte embossingpoeder. Daarna diverse kleuren Distress Inkt aangebracht en met water vermengd, tegelijkertijd ook nog wat Perfect Pearls voor de mooie glans (die je helaas op foto's altijd slecht ziet). Ik vond het leuk om ook iets met de achterkant te doen, dus heb ik Marie op de voorkant geplaatst, ze roept of Louis thee komt drinken met haar, maar ja, hun kasteel is zo groot dat hij aan de andere kant van het kasteel/ATC'tje thee zit te drinken!

We were having an ATC swap at MAMA, the theme being "Tea with Marie". These are my very first ATC's ever, I really enjoyed making them, even though you've only got a small working space. I first stamped my "Paris" background (stamp from Stampinback.nl) with Versamark and white embossed it. I then applied various colours of Distress Ink, mixed them with water, added some Perfect Pearls for a nice shimmer (which you can't see in the pics I'm afraid). I decided to add a little fun and made a background as well, so here's Marie calling Louis to tea, but since their abode is so huge he's on the other side of the castle/ATC card having a sip of his tea! Hope you like it :-)

Verrassing voor m'n zusje - Surprise for my sister

Vandaag viert mijn zusje haar 40e verjaardag en deze 'kaart' is dan ook met heel veel liefde voor haar gemaakt. Het leek me wel grappig om bij wijze van verrassing haar vanachter een deur te verwelkomen met een hoop bloemen. Het is eigenlijk geen kaart geworden, maar eerder een soort grote 'shadow box'. Ik heb voor zowel de binnenzijde van de deur als de bloemen het prachtige papier van Webster's Pages (Petite Papers, Nature's Storybook en Garden Gale) gebruikt. Voor de binnenkant van de deur heb ik bewust gekozen voor de tekst 'Grow', omdat je op deze leeftijd nu eenmaal wat bewuster in het leven staat. Het uithangbord heb ik gemaakt met de Tim Holtz Alterations Hanging Sign, toen ik deze stans zag was ik direct verkocht. Hij is ook zó super! De stempel is van Inkadinkado (Fancy That).

En dit ben ik, nou lijkt het net alsof ik 40 ben geworden, maar ik mag er in september 5 jaar bijtellen :-) ~And this is me, it seems as if I just turned 40, but I have to add 5 years in September this year :-)

Today my sister is celebrating her 40th birthday and I made her this 'card' with heaps of love. I thought it would be a fun idea to welcome her from behind those doors with a bunch of flowers. Actually it's not a card, it's a kind of large 'shadow box'. For the inside of the doors and for the flowers as well I used the gorgeous papers of Webster's Pages (Petite Papers, Nature's Storybook and Garden Gale). I deliberately chose the text 'Grow', because at this age you tend to be more life conscious. For the hanging sign I used Tim Holtz Alterations Hanging Sign, when I layed my eyes on this die I immediately bought it. I just love it! The stamp is by Inkadinkado (Fancy That)

Mijn zwager heeft onlangs een prachtig nieuw pand betrokken waarin hij zijn bedrijf heeft gevestigd. Omdat hij graag golft, heb ik deze kaart voor hem gemaakt. De tekst "Hole in one" heb ik heel eenvoudig in Powerpoint gemaakt, vond dit wel een toepasselijke tekst om hem veel succes toe te wensen. Op de achterzijde staat o.a. "keep hitting the green"; hij moet immers slagvaardig blijven!! Ik heb voor deze kaart het papier van Graphic45, A Proper Gentleman (Sporting Aristocrat), Communique (Typographer en Classy Correspondence) gebruikt.
My brother-in-law recently established his company in a fabulous new building. As he loves to play golf I made him this card to wish him the best of luck. Magnolia beterschapskaartje - get well card

Toch nog maar weer eens een Magnoliaatje gepakt voor dit kaartje. Ik heb hier het papier van Imaginisce Perfectly Posh voor gebruikt (Chic Speak en Fur & Finery). De pocket en tag zijn gestempeld en geembossed. Voor de hartjesrand één van de ponsen van Martha Stewart gebruikt. Hier en daar wat bling toegevoegd en klaar!
I took out one of my Magnolia's for this card. I used the Imaginisce Perfectly Posh papers (Chic Speak and Fur & Finery). The pocket and stamp were embossed. I punched the laced hearts with one of Martha Stewart's punches, added some bling here and there, ready!

Marie Antoinette Pouch Swap

Voor een swap bij MAMA (Marie Antoinette Mail Art) heb ik dit buideltje gemaakt. Ik heb voor de buitenzijde organza gebruikt, de binnen-zijde is gemaakt van een crèmekleurige stof met gouddraad. Het printje van Marie heb ik op transferpapier geprint en op het buideltje gestreken. Daarna zijn de pareltjes en pailletten er met de hand op genaaid. De bloemen heb ik met de hand geborduurd, hiervoor heb ik borduurgaren en satijn lint gebruikt. Binnenin zitten wat cadeautjes voor de ontvanger. 
This is the pouch I made for the Marie Antoinette swap. I used organza for the outside, inner lining is gold threaded fabric. The Marie print was transferred first and then ironed on the organza pouch. I then hand stitched the pearls and paillettes, embroidered the flowers with yarn and ribbon. Inside are a few goodies.

Blog Candy voor de 10000e bezoeker - Blog Candy for the 10,000th visitor!

Sinds begin dit jaar heb ik al meer dan 7.500 bezoekers op m'n blog gehad, ik had niet verwacht dat jullie met zovelen langs zouden komen! Maar jullie zijn altijd meer dan van harte welkom. Nu leek het me leuk om de 10.000e bezoeker een mooie verrassing te bezorgen, ik zal binnenkort wel een tipje van de sluier oplichten. Het moet immers ook een beetje een cadeautje blijven hè? Ik stel geen strakke voorwaarden hoor, maar ik vind het wel zo eerlijk dat het alleen voor mijn vaste volgers geldt; zij zijn het immers die altijd even een gezellig woordje achterlaten? Misschien kom je al langs en wil je ook volger worden? Hou m'n blog de komende tijd maar goed in de gaten!
Since the beginning of the year I've had over 7,500 visitors to my blog, I had not expected so many of you! But you're all more than welcome. Magnolia

Ook bij mij is de Magnolia-koorts toegeslagen; je komt er niet meer onderuit. Deze kaart heb ik gemaakt voor iemand die op dit moment heel erg veel steun en liefde kan gebruiken. Ze is dol op lieve afbeeldingen en ja, daarvoor is een Magnoliaatje nu eenmaal erg geschikt. Ik heb voor de achtergrond het nieuwe papier van Prima Marketing gebruikt (Raspberry Tee). Het afdrukje is ingekleurd met Derwent Coloursoft. De randen heb ik gedistressed met Tim Holtz distress ink Tattered Rose. De bloemen zijn met diverse ponsen gemaakt. 
I've caught the Magnolia fever, too! This is a card I made for someone who is in dire need of lots of love and attention right now. She's very fond of anything cute and that's what this little Magnolia is. For the background I used the new Prima Marketing papers (Raspberry Tee). I coloured the stamp with Derwent Coloursoft. The sides are distressed with Tim Holtz distress ink Tattered Rose. I made the flowers with the use of various flower punches.  

Hier is de binnenkant van deze gatefold-kaart. Het hart heb ik gestempeld met Colorbox cocoa en daarna ingekleurd met Perfect Pearls.

Alweer een Award! - Another Award!

Wat is dat ontzettend leuk, als je nét terug bent vakantie en je krijgt alweer zo'n prachtige award! Ik heb in de relatief korte tijd dat ik blogger ben al heel wat mooie nieuwe en vooral ook internationale contacten gemaakt. Deze nieuwe vriendschappen zijn heel waardevol voor me, omdat ik ze toch als een cadeautje beschouw. Van één van deze nieuwe vriendinnen, Tracy, kreeg ik deze super award. Heel hartelijk bedankt Tracy!
Ik moet 10 dingen over mezelf vertellen, maar omdat ik zo 1-2-3 niet veel nieuws kan bedenken, stel ik voor dat jullie me gewoon vragen stellen als jullie iets van me willen weten!
