Wat een leuke verrassing op zo'n doordeweekse dag! Van mijn lieve blogvriendin Stella kreeg ik deze mooie award! Heel hartelijk dank, ben er weer superblij mee! Ik moet 3 dingen over mezelf vertellen, eens kijken wat ik jullie nog niet heb verteld, ha ha ha!! En dan geef ik 'm weer graag door aan 5 anderen! Goed, komt-ie:
1. ik kan enorm genieten van alle blogvriendschappen, vind het een verrijking, ook al hebben we elkaar nog nooit ontmoet!
2. ik ben dol op aziatisch eten, het kan me niet pittig genoeg zijn!
3. ik vind het heerlijk om allerlei dingen te bedenken en te proberen om ze dan ook met papier uit te werken, het liefst zo verschillend mogelijk!

Steampunk balloon

Ik was pas wat oude studieboeken aan het doorbladeren, kom ik een patroon in een wiskundeboek tegen om een globe te maken! Er is heel wat knipwerk bij komen kijken, maar m'n pergamanoschaartje werkt wonderen. Ik heb expres niet alle randen geplakt omdat ik geen gladde ballon wou maken. Uit de collectie van Graphic45 ( Debutante Steampunk) komt natuurlijk de dame die in het mandje zit. Het mandje is trouwens gemaakt met een stans van Marianne Design (Bird Cage Morocco), ik denk ik hang 'm op z'n kop :-) Het valt trouwens nog niet mee om de touwtjes op dezelfde hoogte te krijgen, pfff!
Recently I was looking through some of my old study books when I found a pattern for a globe inside a math book! It took me quite a lot of clipping, but my pergamano scissors works miracles. I specifically didn't glue all the edges because I didn't want the balloon to be all smooth surfaced. The lady inside the basket is from the Debutante Steampunk collection (Graphic45). I made the basket with a diecut from Marianne Design (Bird Cage Morocco), I just turned it upside down :-) By the way it's not easy to get the ropes at the same level, phew!

Tutorial bloem van lint - Ribbon flower tutorial

Toen Kirsty van City Crafter Challenge me vroeg om deze week Guest Designer te worden, hoefde ik natuurlijk niet lang na te denken, en al helemaal niet vanwege het feit dat er handgemaakte bloemen moesten worden gebruikt! Dit is mijn bijdrage, ik ben een groot liefhebber van de 19e eeuw, vandaar de hoge hoed, én van bloemen natuurlijk!! Het papier is Wisteria van Basic Grey. De hoed is altijd passend te maken, wanneer de cirkels te groot zijn, knip je gewoon de rand af. Ik heb ook een tutorial voor jullie gemaakt, de foto's spreken denk ik wel voor zich, zo niet dan hoor ik het graag! Kirsty, nogmaal heel hartelijk dank voor deze spotlight!!

When Kirsty of City Crafter Challenge asked me to be this week's Guest Designer, I didn't have to think about it, I was utterly thrilled! Also because of the fact that we had to use handmade flowers! Here's my contribution, I'm very fond of the 19th century, hence the top hat, and of flowers, of course! Papers are from Basic Grey (Wisteria). When the top circle of the hat is too big, you just cut off the rim. I also made a tutorial for you, I think the pictures go without saying, if not, just let me know! Kirsty, thanks a bunch for this spotlight!!

Neem een stukje vilt voor de basis van de bloem en naai het lint in lussen erop. Ik heb diverse kleuren lint gebruikt en kralen geregen. Een mooie knoop of andere versiering maakt het geheel af. De rose strik heb ik gemaakt van een lint uit de aanbiedingsbak. Take a small piece of felt for the flower basis and sew on the ribbon in loops. I used different colours of ribbon and beads. A nice button or other embellishment is the finishing touch. The pink mesh is made of ribbon of a stock sale.

Verjaardagen, je kunt er maar beter genoeg van vieren in je leven, ook die van jezelf :-) Voor deze kaart heb ik het papier van Imaginisce (Perfectly Posh) gebruikt, vind het heel geschikt voor een échte meidenkaart! Welke vrouw vind 't nou niet leuk om te winkelen? Al is het maar nieuwe hobby-spullen, ha ha ha!! Vond de quote ook wel grappig! De achtergrond-stempel is van Papermania, de winkelende dame is een digi-freebie van Bugaboo. Als jullie de template willen voor deze kaart, laat dan gerust hier je e-mailadres achter!
Birthdays, you can't celebrate them enough, including your own :-) For this card I used Imaginisce paper (Perfectly Posh), I think it's very appropriate for a girly card! What woman doesn't like to go shopping? If only for new hobby stuff :-) And don't you just love this funny quote! The background stamp is from Papermania, the shopping lady is a digi freebie from Bugaboo. If you'd like to have the template for this card, please feel free to leave your e-mail address with me!

Bratz!!

Ik vind ze nog steeds supergeinig, de tekeningen van Bratz! Voor de verjaardag van mijn tante heb ik deze kaart gemaakt, ze is weliswaar 70+ (sssstttt!), maar ook zij is er dol op. Sterker nog, ze tekende vroeger in mijn poeziealbum zélf dergelijke meisjes! Omdat ze ook erg van felle kleuren houdt, heb ik hier voor de Tiffany-lijn van We R Memory Keepers gekozen. De "bontranden" zijn gemaakt met Puffy Velvet, wat een leuk spul is dat toch! De swirls zijn van Marianne Design, de doily komt uit m'n voorraad. Ingekleurd met distress inkt.

I still think they're super cute, these Bratz images!! This one's for my aunt who's celebrating her 70+ birthday (but don't let her know, LOL!), I know she adores such girls. Better still, she used to draw up similar girls in my poem album when I was a little girl. She's very fond of bright colours, so I picked the Tiffany papers from We R Memory Keepers. The "fir" was done with Puffy Velvet, I really like this stuff!! The swirls are made with diecuts from Marianne Design, the doily's from my stash. Coloured with distress ink.

Shabby Chic

Op het blog van Maya kwam ik zoiets leuks tegen, ik had meteen zin om dat ook te gaan maken. En dat is dan ook meteen wat ik met de kerst heb gedragen. Je hebt het in een handomdraai gemaakt, het is goedkoop, het past perfect en is nog lekker warm ook, deze armwarmers! Nogmaals bedankt voor het idee Maya!

On Maya's blog I found the cutest thing, I immediately wanted to make them myself! It's what I wore at Christmas. They're done in no time, it's cheap, they always fit and they're nice and warm, these armwarmers! Thanks again Maya for this lovely idea!

Een nieuw begin! New beginnings!

Ik heb gisteren ook weer wat kunnen freubelen, heb hiervoor gebruik gemaakt van het prachtige papier van Bo Bunny (Midnight Frost), voor deze tijd van het jaar is het ijzige blauw heel toepasselijk. Gebruikte stansen zijn van Marianne Design en Sizzix. De afbeelding is van Marie France. Luckily I was able to do some crafting yesterday, for this card I used the Bo Bunny papers (Midnight Frost). For this time of year I think the icy blue colours are very suitable. The image is from Marie France. Dies are from Marianne Design and Sizzix.

Van mijn blogvriendin Ros heb ik deze prachtige award gekregen, ben er superblij mee! Heel hartelijk dank! Nou is het bij awards meestal zo dat je bepaalde dingen over jezelf moet vertellen, zo ook bij deze, maar als jullie het goed vinden, wil ik hier een eigen draai aan geven. Omdat we het oude jaar bijna uitluiden, wil ik alle bezoeksters van mijn blog graag de award doorgeven én 8 dingen wénsen:
1. luister naar je gevoel en doe wat je hart je ingeeft
2. neem vooral de tijd voor elkaar
3. probeer eens wat vaker te luisteren i.p.v. te praten, je zult zien dat je gesprekken véél interessanter worden!
4. lach eens gewoon spontaan naar iemand op straat, de meeste mensen reageren blij verrast
5. laat ieder mens in zijn waarde, we zijn per slot van rekening allemaal uniek!
6. gedraag je af en toe als een kind en voel de blijdschap in jezelf
7. zonder geluk en gezondheid vaart niemand wel, dus dat wens ik jullie zeer zeker toe
8. wanneer je je open stelt voor andere mensen en hun ideeën dan komt de creativiteit vanzelf!

My blog buddy Ros gave me this beautiful award, I'm thrilled! Thank you so much! You all know how it works, you have to tell certain things about yourself. But if you girls don't mind I'd like to change the "rules". Since this year has nearly come to its end, I would like to pass on this award to all of my visitors. These are my 8 wishes for you: 

1. listen to your heart, you'll know when something feels good or bad

2. take some more time for each other

3. try to listen more instead of talking, you will see that conversations tend to become much more interesting! 

4. just smile at someone you meet and don't know, most people will be pleasantly surprised

Geen kerst zonder kaarsen - No Christmas without candles

Bolsius heeft aan mij een goede, ik koop me helemaal suf aan de theelichtjes en kaarsen! We branden ze het hele jaar door, vind het 's zomers 's avonds buiten supergezellig en tijdens deze donkere winterse dagen zorgt het binnen voor een heerlijke sfeer. Ik zie overal van die leuke theelichtkaarten en doosjes voorbij komen en heb er zelf ook maar ééntje gemaakt; ze zijn supersnel gemaakt met Nestabilities (label one), heb hier papier van Webster's Pages voor gebruikt.
I'm one of Bolsius' best customers, I buy bags full of tealights and candles! We burn them all year round, I love seeing candlelight during summer evenings and now, during winter, they just enhance the intimacy of our room. I keep seeing these lovely tea light cards and boxes, so I decided to make one myself; if you use your Nestabilities (label one) they're ready in no time! Paper is from Webster's Pages.

Het sneeuwt! - It's snowing!

Hier is de afgelopen dagen behoorlijk wat sneeuw gevallen, een écht winterlandschap, zo prachtig buiten! Zoals jullie weten, ben ik geen 'wintermens', maar het ziet er zo mooi uit allemaal! Enige tijd geleden heb ik bij Prairy Fairy Designs een challenge gewonnen en mocht wat digi stempels uitzoeken, één daarvan heb ik hier gebruikt. Vond deze eskimo - getekend door Roberta Laliberté - echt geweldig. Heb voor de ijsschots en iglo piepschuim gebruikt en heb heerlijk gekliederd met Aleene's True Snow, het plaatje is ingekleurd met Distress Inkt. De andere stempels zijn van Inkadinkado. De kerstboompjes zijn gemaakt met Creatables (Marianne Design). In the past few days we've had quite a lot of snow, actually it's still snowing now. It's a real winter landscape which is oh so beautiful! As many of you know I'm not an ardent winter fan, but it looks stunningly beautiful outside! A little while ago I won a challenge over at Prairy Fairy Designs and I won some digi stamps, I used one of them here. I really adored the little eskimo, drawn by Roberta Laliberté. For the ice floe and iglo I used styropor and I got to mess around with Aleene's True Snow, the image itself is coloured with Distress Ink. Other stamps used are from Inkadinkado. I used Creatables (Marianne Design) for the Christmas trees.

Lieve Kerstman - Dear Santa

Ik heb weer wat tijd gevonden ergens in een oud horloge :-) en heb deze canvas (30x30cm) gemaakt. Het papier vond ik al direct zo mooi, het is van My Mind's Eye, Holly Jolly en éigenlijk hoeft er niet veel mee te gebeuren, maar ja, ik ben nou eenmaal van het pimpen, dus kon ik het niet nalaten om toch nog eea toe te voegen. Tijdens het weekendje weg met m'n zus vond ik de zilverkleurige sleutel met het gezicht van de kerstman erop, kon ik niet laten liggen! De bling bling zijn delen van een oude armband. Ik wens jullie veel voorpret toe bij jullie kerstvoorberei- dingen! 
I found some time again somewhere in an old watch :-) and made this canvas (30x30 cm). I fell in love with the paper the minute I saw it, it's from My Mind's Eye, Holly Jolly and actually you don't need to do much with it, but hey, I'm the pimpin' kind I guess, so I just had to add a little extra here and there. During our sister's weekend I found the silver coloured Santa key and I just couldn't resist it! The bling bling are parts from an old bracelet. Have lots of fun during your Christmas preparations girls!

Kersttradities - Christmas traditions

Ieder jaar rond deze tijd verheug ik me altijd op het versieren van ons huisje. Ik vind het heerlijk om de kerstdozen weer tevoorschijn te halen en te herontdekken wat er ook alweer allemaal in zit. Ik heb het de afgelopen tijd ontzettend druk gehad en had helaas geen tijd om iets anders creatiefs te doen, dus hier zijn wat foto's van de sfeer bij ons in huis op dit moment. Het komend weekend hebben mijn zus en ik ons jaarlijkse zussenweekend, we gaan naar de musical Crazy Shopping! Heb er nu al vreselijk veel zin in! Ik zie jullie dus graag aan de andere kant van het weekend weer :-) Jullie ook allemaal een leuk en gezellig weekend gewenst! 
Around this time of the year I always look forward to decorating our house. I just love taking the Christmas boxes out again and rediscover what's inside. I've been really busy this week, so I haven't had much time to create something new, so here are some pictures of what our house looks like right now. Coming weekend my sister and I will be spending our annual sisters' weekend together. We have tickets for the musical Crazy Shopping and are both eager to go! So I'll be talking to you again next week, ok? I hope you will all have a wonderful weekend!

Kerstcadeautje - Holiday gift

Enkele weken geleden heb ik de challenge bij The Shabby Tea Room gewonnen met mijn "Little Pumpkin" en ben ik door Debby gevraagd om hun Guest Designer te zijn van deze week. Daar heb ik natuurlijk geen nee tegen gezegd! De opdracht was om een kerstcadeautje te maken en dit is de mijne geworden. Ik heb een pakje choco cappuccino gekocht - smaakt zo lekker wanneer het koud is! - en heb deze 'gepimpt'. Het papier van SEI vond ik hier wel geschikt voor. Ik heb geprobeerd om een combinatie te maken van een oude klokgevel woning en een koekoeksklok. De kerstrozen en vogeltje zijn gemaakt met de stansjes van Marianne Design, de swirl is van Sizzix, de gewichten van de klok zijn van Spellbinders (Heirloom) en de ijspegels zijn gemaakt met een pons van Martha Stewart. Ik heb de bodem van het koffiedoosje niet beplakt, zodat de ontvangster iedere keer een zakje van deze overheerlijke koffie eruit kan nemen. Zo hoeft het vogeltje ook niet te worden weggejaagd :-) Mijn raam staat al open, dus kom maar aanwaaien dan doen we een bakkie!

Some weeks ago I won the challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room with my "Little Pumpkin" . Debby asked me to be this week's Guest Designer, I was pleased as a punch! This week's theme is 'Tis The Season' (holiday gifts) and here's what I made. I bought a packet of choco cappuccino coffee - a perfect drink for this time of the year! - and 'pimped' it up. I found the SEI papers to be perfect. I tried to make a combination of an old Dutch clock roof house and a cuckoo clock. For the poinsettia flowers and bird I used Marianne Design's Creatables, the swirl is from Sizzix, the 'hanging parts' of the clock are from Spellbinders (Heirloom) and the icicles are made with a Martha Stewart punch. I kept the bottom part of the coffee packet open so that the receiver will be able to slide out some of this delicious coffee out of it without having to shoo the bird away :-) I've already opened my window, so please feel free and share a cup with me!
