Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween iedereen! Jammer genoeg wordt het hier in Nederland niet gevierd, ik zou het énig vinden om als heks de straat op te gaan, ik heb inmiddels een nieuwe supersnelle bezem en m'n nieuwe laarzen hangen al klaar, kijk maar! Ik wens al m'n trouwe bezoekers een mooie Halloween! Maak er iets leuks van!

Happy Halloween to you all! Such a pity we don't celebrate Halloween the US way! I would LOVE to dress up as a witch and go out into the street, I have a new megafast broomstick by the way, LOL! My boots are hanging ready, see! I'd like to wish al of my visitors a very Happy Halloween! Enjoy it!

A Material World

Een paar weken geleden heb ik de challenge bij My Partner in Crafting Crime gewonnen met mijn kaart "This Is A Man's World" en nu hebben Jenny en Robin me gevraagd om hun Guest Designer te zijn voor de nieuwe uitdaging op hun blog, te weten "It's A Material World" (#14). De bedoeling is om stof of andere materialen op je creatie te gebruiken. Voor mijn muurhanger heb ik als achtergrond papier van Marianne Design gebruikt, de foto van het breiende dametje komt van Bellisima. Ik heb natuurlijke materialen gebruikt, sisal, kant, katoen, parels en jute. En metaal natuurlijk (het kleine schaartje). Het was leuk om weer eens wat te breien! Ik heb een paar satéprikkers genomen (extra lange, dat breit wat sneller!) en witte katoen, even in de thee gelegd voor het juiste kleurtje. Bedankt Jenny en Robin!

A couple of weeks ago I won the challenge at My Partner in Crafting Crime with my card "This Is A Man's World" and now Jenny and Robin have asked me to be their Guest Designer for their new challenge (#14), "It's A Material World". You're supposed to use material and/or fabric on your card. For my wallhanger I used paper of Marianne Design, the picture of the knitting lady can be found at Bellisima who shares the most pretty images. I used natural materials such as sisal, lace, cotton, pearls and jute. And metal of course! (the little pair of scissors). It was fun picking up my knitting pens again, well, actually they're satay skewers (extra long ones, makes the knitting go faster!) I used white cotton, put it in some dark tea for the right colour. Noodlanding! Crash landing!

AAAAAAAARRRRGHHH!! Zie je nou wel dat ik die Tom Tom nóóit had moeten aanschaffen! Dan had ik die laatste afslag tenminste niet gemist en nu lig ik hier niet bepaald elegant met m'n benen omhoog en m'n hoofd tussen de pompoenen. Gatsie, even een stukje pompoen tussen m'n tanden uithalen! Moet straks niet vergeten m'n bezem te laten maken als dat nog lukt, want die is vast total loss, maar ja, elk nadeel heeft z'n voordeel, kan ik nu éindelijk die nieuwe retro-stok gaan halen! Ik heb de bomen uitgeknipt uit zwart papier, de hekjes zijn gemaakt met een Sizzlits stans, de bezem heb ik gemaakt van een takje uit de tuin, omwikkeld met vliegertouw en de haren van de bezem komen van een echte bezem. 

AAAAAAAARRRRGHHH!! I should never have bought that GPS! Then at least I wouldn't have missed the last exit. Look at me, lying here with my legs up and face down between the pumpkins! Yikes, there's a piece of pumpkin between my teeth. Mustn't forget to have my broomstick fixed, if at all possible, it looks total loss... Anyway, maybe something good will come out of this, I might go for that new retro broomstick! I cut the trees from black paper, the gates were made with a Sizzlits die, I made the broomstick with a small sprig from the garden, enveloped it with kite-line and the hairs from the broom are from a real one.

Cadeautjes - Presents!

Het is nu 1 jaar geleden dat ik ben begonnen met bloggen en sinds die tijd heb ik al veel leuke, lieve, zeer creatieve en geweldige blogvrien-
dinnen gemaakt. Ik stel jullie vriendschap enorm op prijs en dank jullie dan ook hartelijk voor jullie trouwe bezoekjes en leuke reacties! Dit stimuleert je natuurlijk enorm om gewoon lekker door te gaan :-) Vandaag werd ik super verrast door twee van mijn dierbare vriendinnen, Tracy en Lynne. Wanneer je thuis komt en je vindt 2 verrassingen die je op je liggen te wachten ben je wel een heel bevoorrecht mens, zo voel ik me ook echt! Kijk eens wat die schat van een Tracy me allemaal heeft gestuurd? Zie je die prachtige tag die ze heeft gemaakt? En dank je wel lieve Lynne voor je prachtige vintage kaart, jullie weten precies waar ik van hou! Ga eens langs bij beiden en zie zelf wat voor mooie dingen ze maken! It's been slightly more than 1 year since I first started blogging. Since then I've met quite a few nice, sweet, very creative and wonderful friends. I really appreciate your friendship and would like to thank you for your continuous support and lovely reactions! Makes you want to continue :-) Today I received the most wonderful surprise of two of my lovely friends, Tracy

and Lynne. To come home and see that there are 2 surprises waiting for you makes me feel very privileged indeed!  Look at all the beautiful goodies darling Tracy sent me? Look at the wonderful tag she made me! And thank you so much dear Lynne for your wonderful vintage card! You girls know exactly what I like :-) Please go visit both of my friends and look at all their beautiful creations! If you decide to pay them a visit, please give them a big hug from me, ok?

De Kleine Zeemeermin - The Little Mermaid

De dochter van onze vrienden heeft haar zwemdiploma A gehaald, dus dat is weer reden genoeg voor een (3D) kaartje natuurlijk! Deze kleine zeemeermin is een kleurplaat die ik op maat heb verkleind en heb ingekleurd met Derwent Coloursoft. Het papier is van Webster's Pages (Seaside Retreat). Meisjes houden wel van wat bling, ik in elk geval wel ha ha ha! en dus heb ik de staart van de zeemeermin volgeplakt met losse pailletten, het uiteinde van de staart is met glitterpoeder bestrooid. Nog wat losse schelpjes erbij (deels vastgemaakt aan ijzerdraad) en nog wat koraal nagebootst met de stans van Joy Crafts (blaadjes nr. 2) en het onderwater- feest kan beginnen!

The daughter of our friends has been awarded her very first swim skills certificate, all the more reason for another (3D) card of course! This little mermaid is a colouring page which I resized and coloured with Derwent Coloursoft. Papers are from Webster's Pages (Seaside Retreat). Girls love a little bling, I know I do! LOL! and so I glued sequins on the tail of the mermaid, I put some glitter powder on the end of the tail. I added a few loose shells that I've had here lying around for ages (partly tied them to iron wire) and tried to fake coral by using the punch of Joy Crafts (leaves nr. 2). Let the underwater party begin!

Pompoenentijd - Hi Little Pumpkin!

Overal zie je ze weer, de pompoenen! Echt een teken dat de herfst er is, alhoewel het vandaag wel weer zomer leek, zo heerlijk het zonnetje! Voor deze 'kaart' heb ik met de Nestabilities Scallop Circles rondjes uitgestanst, ze allemaal op elkaar gelegd, in het midden doorgestikt en zo heb je op eenvoudige wijze een pompoen. Met de Shapeabilities Assorted Leaves blaadjes gestanst, gedistressed en op de pompoen gelijmd, daar weer een klein pompoentje op als steun voor Tilda die met Derwent Coloursoft is ingekleurd. 

They're all around us now, pumpkins! A sure sign of Autumn, although today it seemed more like Summer, the sun was just wonderful! For this 'card' I used Nestabilities Scallop Circles, layered them all, stitched them in the middle and here's my little pumpkin. I cut some Shapeabilities Assorted Leaves which I then distressed, glued them on top of the pumpkin. A little pumpkin goes on top of the big one to support Tilda who I coloured with Derwent Coloursoft pencils.

Halloween

Je kan er niet omheen, Halloween komt er weer aan. Ik hou wel van het mysterieuze sfeertje dat er omheen hangt, spinnen spinnen hun web in de tuin, het kan al behoorlijk mistig zijn en wie is er nou niet opgegroeid met heksenverhalen? Voor deze Halloween-verjaardagskaart heb ik o.a. papier van All My Memories gebruikt (Halloween Design). Omdat het voor een man is bedoeld, heb ik voor dit sexy heksje gekozen. Mannen houden wel van iets geheimzinnigs en dus heb ik haar achter een gesloten poort geplaatst, mag hij haar zelf ontdekken :-) De stempels zijn van Inkadinkado, de vogel is gestanst met een die van Tim Holtz.

I love the mystery surrounding Halloween, spiders are creating their webs in the garden, it can be quite foggy in the morning and who grew up without stories of witches? For this Halloween birthday card I used paper of All My Memories (Halloween Design). Since this is a man's card I chose this sexy vintage witch. Men like a bit of mystery and so I placed her behind a closed gate, he can discover her himself :-) Stamps are from Inkadinkado, the bird was punched out with a Tim Holtz die.

Feestkasteel - Party Castle

M'n nichtje Phoebe is 4 geworden en ze is nog helemaal in de rose fase van prinsessen, dus kon ik niet anders dan voor haar een "eigen kasteel" maken, Phoebe's Feestkasteel! Toen ik het stempeltje van Bildmalarna zag, herkende ik direct dezelfde ondeugende snoet en was de link tussen die twee gauw gelegd. De template is van Deneen Treble en het papier komt van de Pipoos. De afdrukjes zijn ingekleurd met Derwent Coloursoft. Het kasteel kan gewoon worden ingevouwen en zo worden verstuurd. Een beetje kasteel heeft natuurlijk een ophaalbrug, dus die mocht hier niet ontbreken, cupcake van Magnolia erop gezet en het feest kan beginnen! Phoebe wacht vol spanning wie er allemaal komt!
My niece Phoebe turned 4 and she's still very fond of pink and princesses, so I couldn't resist making a castle for her, Phoebe's Party Castle! When I saw this Bildmalarna stamp I immediately recognized the same cheeky little face :-) They just had to be combined somehow. Template is from Deneen Treble and papers from Pipoos. Stamps are coloured with Derwent Coloursoft. The castle can be folded (1st picture) and thus sent by mail. A true castle has a lift bridge, so I added one and put a little Magnolia cupcake on it. Let the party begin! Phoebe is already looking out for you!

Herfstbladeren - Autumn leaves

Ik zit hier met een heerlijk glaasje rode wijn dit berichtje te schrijven. De tijd van droge witte wijn en rosé is helaas weer voorbij. De herfst doet weer zo'n beetje zijn intrede, ik ben zelf meer een zomermens, maar goed, we maken wel weer iets gezelligs van de nieuwe seizoenen! Heb dus vanmorgen heerlijk zitten freubelen en deze herfstdame gemaakt. Ik heb haar gevonden op Deviant Art, zo'n ongelooflijk prachtige website! Ze is ingekleurd met Distress Inkt en de tag zelf is gekleurd met Viva Decor (papersoft colour mosgroen). Toen de inkt nog nat was, heb ik hier wat goud embossing poeder overheen gestrooid en verhit. Daarna gestempeld (stempels zijn ook van Viva Decor) met diverse kleuren Versamagic.

Een echte dame heeft natuurlijk een handtasje bijpassend bij haar kleding :-) De tasbeugel vond ik tussen allerlei gebroken sierraad- onderdelen en zo ook de ketting die ze draagt. De blaadjes zijn allemaal geponst (o.a. Spellbinders, Marianne Design en Nellie Snellen). I'm sitting here writing and enjoying a wonderful glass of red wine. The time of dry white wines and rosé has passed, I'm afraid. Autumn is gradually taking over. I'm more of a summer person myself, but hey, we'll enjoy the seasons to come as well! I've been working on Mrs. Autumn this morning. I found her on Deviant Art, such an incredible website! I coloured her with Distress Ink and the tag itself is coloured with Viva Decor (papersoft colour moss green). While the ink was still wet, I sprinkled a little bit of gold embossing powder on the tag and heat embossed it. I stamped it afterwards (stamps are also from Viva Decor) with several colours of Versamagic. A real lady has a purse that fits her outfit :-) I found the purse frame in a box where I keep all my broken jewelry as well as the necklace. The leaves are all punched (a.o. Spellbinders, Marianne Design and Nellie Snellen).

Award!

Mijn goede vriendin Steph uit Hawaii heeft me blij gemaakt met deze prachtige award! Steph is DT-lid van Papercraft Star en vindt het heerlijk om met mooi papier, lint en bloemen prachtige kaarten te maken. Bedankt Steph! Ik moet nu nog wel eerst een paar vragen beantwoorden, dus hier zijn ze:
1. het mooiste dat ik ooit heb gemaakt is...
2. ik hou van freubelen omdat...
Wat ik geweldig vond om te doen, was ons 'Gaudí'-bankje in de achtertuin, daar ben ik best trots op!
Verder knutsel ik heel graag omdat dat voor mij dé manier is om mijn fantasie nog meer los te laten. Ik vind het heerlijk om dingen te bedenken die misschien niet zo simpel zijn om te maken, maar daar ligt dan juist wél de uitdaging!
Ik mag deze award doorgeven en ik geef ze graag aan Lynne en Marietta. Lynne maakt prachtige vintage-items en Marietta's stukjes lees ik ontzettend graag omdat ze een hele levendige schrijfstijl heeft die mee erg aanspreekt.

What I really loved doing was our 'Gaudí' bench in the backyard, I'm quite proud of it. 

Furthermore, I love crafting because to me it's the ultimate way of allowing my fantasy to go wild. I love fantasizing about things that may be difficult to create, but there's the real challenge for me! 

I'd like to pass this award on to Lynne and Marietta. Lynne's vintage items are stunningly beautiful and I always love to read Marietta's posts, she has a very vivid and appealing way of writing. If ever she decides to publish a novel, I'd be the first to read it!

Gek hè, ik was met deze verjaardagskaart bezig en er kwam ineens het liedje van James Brown in m'n hoofd :-) Kijk, wij meiden weten natuurlijk wel dat het éigenlijk allemaal anders zit en de énige échte power Girl Power is :-) Maar af en toe moet je mannen een beetje blij maken ha ha ha!! Nou, dat hoop ik dan met deze beetje steampunk-achtige kaart te doen. Het papier is van K & Company en van Webster's Pages, de stempels van o.a. Inkadinkado en Stampinback. De foto's zijn natuurlijk van Fred Astaire, vond ik vroeger echt héérlijk om naar te kijken, naar zijn dansfilms met Ginger Rogers!! De embellishments komen uit een fourniturenwinkel.

Isn't it funny, I was working on this birthday card and all of a sudden this James Brown song came into my head (and it hasn't left since!). Look, we girls all know that the only real power there is is Girl Power (of course :-) But every now and then men have to be pleased, LOL! Well, I hope to please someone with this steampunk-ish card. Papers are from K & Company and Webster's Pages, the stamps are from a.o. Inkadinkado and Stampinback. The pictures are Fred Astaire, of course. I really loved watching his dance movies with Ginger Rogers!! I got the embellishments from the haberdasher.
