Post! Mail!

Kijk eens wat er gisteren met de post kwam? Deze prachtige kaart en goodies van mijn lieve vriendin Tracy, super hè? Ik was er enorm door verrast en ben er heel erg blij mee. Nogmaals heel erg bedankt Tracy, niet alleen voor je post maar vooral voor je trouwe bezoekjes, commentaar en vriendschap van het afgelopen jaar. Daar gaan we hopelijk nog heel wat jaren aan vastplakken! 
Look what arrived in yesterday's mail! This stunning card and goodies from my dear friend Tracy, isn't that something? I was hugely surprised and extremely pleased with it. Thanks again Tracy, not just for your mail but especially for your returning visits, comments and friendship of the past year. I really hope that there will be many more years to come!

Tijd voor vintage - Vintage Time!

Na een paar 'cute' kaarten, vond ik het wel weer eens tijd worden voor vintage. Ik heb een lampen- kapje gemaakt, de kralenrand is ook zelf gemaakt. Omdat ik dit wel leuk vind staan op ons dressoir, heb ik er nog wat bijpassende notitiekaartjes bij gemaakt, ze zijn distressed met Antique Linen. De stempels die ik hiervoor heb gebruikt, zijn van See D's.

After a couple of 'cute' cards I felt it was vintage time again. I made a lampshade, the beaded rim is also handmade by me. Because I thought this would look good on our sidetable, I also made a couple of matching note cards. They're distressed with Antique Linen. Stamps used are from See D's.

En ik ben weer blij verrast met deze mooie award van Tracy, een zeer talentvolle en lieve vriendin die altijd beeldige kaarten maakt. Dank je wel Tracy! Omdat ik bij voorgaande awards al zoveel over mezelf heb verteld, mogen jullie me vragen stellen als jullie nog iets willen weten, goed? Mierzoet - Super Sweet

Soms is het zo leuk om met kleu-ren te werken waar je normaliter niet zo gauw iets mee zou doen. Ik heb voor mierzoet gekozen, ben o.a. geinspireerd door dit plaatje bij City Crafter. Ik heb dit grappige anime-meisje gevonden op Deviant Art en heb haar ingekleurd met Derwent Coloursoft. De quote vind ik al heel lang mooi, het is écht iets wat bij deze 'tijd' past, om maar een metafoor te gebruiken! "They took away time and they gave us the clock". En zo is het maar net, moeten we niet gewoon wat minder op de klok kijken maar de tijd nemen?

It's nice to work with colours that you wouldn't normally use. I chose these super sweet colours, the cute picture at City Crafter being one of my sources of inspiration. I found this cute anime girl at Deviant Art and coloured her with Derwent Coloursoft. I've always loved this quote, it's so very appropriate for these modern 'times', to use a metaphor!  "They took away time and they gave us the clock". That's exactly how it is, shouldn't we just take one less look at the clock and take some more time?

Hole in one!

Waarom er volgens mij meer mannen dan vrouwen golf spelen is mij een raadsel. Of zou het dan toch komen omdat een man nu eenmaal liever in een ruitjesbroek rondhuppelt dan een vrouw? Het laat zich raden dat deze kaart voor een man is gemaakt die óók nog eens graag golft :-) Met een embossing folder heb ik geprobeerd om een golfbal na te bootsen, het plaatje (Precious Moments) is ingekleurd met derwent en chalk en het ruitjespapier is van Graphic45.

Why more men seem to play golf than women is a complete riddle to me. Or do you think it's the checkered pants that make the difference? Perhaps we girls prefer not to wear one, LOL! Such an easy guess: this is a card for a man who loves to play golf :-) I tried to create the effect of a golf ball with an embossing folder, the image (Precious Moments) is coloured with Derwent Coloursoft and chalk. For the background I used Graphic45 papers.

Engeltje - My little angel

En nog maar een Valentijnskaartje, maar nu in wat fellere kleurtjes. Het papier is van Eline's Huis, de rand is gemaakt met de Martha Stewart pons Bangle Chain Trim, heb hier alleen de rand van gebruikt. De stempel is van Inkadinkado.
And here's another Valentine's card, but now with some more bright colours. Papers are from Eline's Huis, the brim was done with the Martha Stewart punch Bangle Chain Trim, I only used the brim. The stamp is from Inkadinkado.

Eén van de leukste dingen van het bloggen is dat je zoveel verschillende mensen leert kennen. Enige tijd geleden maakte ik kennis met Trishia Jacobs, eigenaar van French Kissed Postcards. Trishia is een Amerikaanse dame met een heel groot Frans hart! Je kunt alles over haar en haar avonturen in Frankrijk lezen op haar blog. Ga er eens een kijkje nemen. In haar Etsy shop verkoopt ze de meest prachtige antieke postkaarten, parfum labels en andere items. Mocht je haar bezoeken, doe haar dan de hartelijke groeten van me! Trishia heeft mij gevraagd of ik Guest Designer op haar blog wilde worden voor april. Nou, jullie begrijpen dat ik hier niet lang over heb nagedacht! Ik mag werken met zulk prachtig materiaal, past helemaal in mijn straatje!! Dus blijf kijken, wordt vervolgd! Kijk eens wat ze me van de week toestuurde (en ik heb zelfs meer van haar gekregen, maar dat zien jullie in april :-) One of the best things about blogging is getting to meet so many different people. A little while ago I made the acquaintance of Trishia Jacobs, owner of French Kissed Postcards. Trishia is an American girl with a very French heart! You can read all about her and her wonderful experiences in France on her blog. Go check it out! In her Etsy shop she has the finest antique postcards, perfume labels and ephemera for sale. If you pay her visit, please say hi to her from me :-) Trishia has asked me if I would like to be her Guest Designer for April next, I was so excited so I said yes! I get to work with lots of vintage material, which is right up my alley! So please stay tuned! Look what I got from her last week (and she sent me some more, but you'll be seeing this in April :-) 

Het regent hartjes! It's raining hearts!

Wat zou het toch mooi zijn wanneer het eens hartjes zou regenen overal! Zou dat niet een hele hoop mensen blij maken? Mij in elk geval wel! Ik heb voor deze parasol een mal van Nellie Snellen gebruikt (cirkel) en het papier van Prima Marketing. De hartjes zijn gestempeld, ze zijn van één of ander onbekend merk. De ticket- stempel is van Inkadinkado.











Wouldn't it be nice if it started raining hearts all over the world? I for one would just love it! For this parasol I used a Nellie Snellen die (circle) and Prima Marketing paper. I stamped the hearts (unknown brand). The ticket stamp is from Inkadinkado.

Sweet award

Deze lieve award kreeg ik van Lean, die werkelijk de meest geweldige LOs maakt van o.a. haar prachtige hond Misty. Kijk en geniet! Chinese New Year - The Year of the Rabbit

Bij ons in de straat woont een Chinese familie die ons ieder jaar een kerstkaart stuurt en wij sturen hen op onze buurt weer een nieuwjaarskaart. Omdat het dit jaar het jaar van het konijn is én dit ook nog eens mijn lievelingsdier is, mocht een konijntje dus niet ontbreken! Ik heb de vorm van het konijn uitgeknipt uit rood glanskarton, deze door de embossing folder (chinese lantaarns-Oriental Weave) gehaald voor het effect. Voor de achtergrond heb ik een stuk Chinese stof gebruikt. De tak is een creatable stans van Marianne Design. 
There's a Chinese family who lives down our street and who sends us a Christmas card every year, so we're sending them Happy New Year cards in return. Since 2011 is the Year of the Rabbit and the rabbit is my favourite animal I put one up on this card! I cut out the shape of a rabbit of red glossy cardstock, ran it through my embossing folder (Chinese lanterns-Oriental Weave) for a more detailed effect. For the background I used a piece of original Chinese fabric. The branch is a creatable die from Marianne Design.

Wat een leuke verrassing op zo'n doordeweekse dag! Van mijn lieve blogvriendin Stella kreeg ik deze mooie award! Heel hartelijk dank, ben er weer superblij mee! Ik moet 3 dingen over mezelf vertellen, eens kijken wat ik jullie nog niet heb verteld, ha ha ha!! En dan geef ik 'm weer graag door aan 5 anderen! Goed, komt-ie:

Steampunk balloon

Ik was pas wat oude studieboeken aan het doorbladeren, kom ik een patroon in een wiskundeboek tegen om een globe te maken! Er is heel wat knipwerk bij komen kijken, maar m'n pergamanoschaartje werkt wonderen. Ik heb expres niet alle randen geplakt omdat ik geen gladde ballon wou maken. Uit de collectie van Graphic45 ( Debutante Steampunk) komt natuurlijk de dame die in het mandje zit. Het mandje is trouwens gemaakt met een stans van Marianne Design (Bird Cage Morocco), ik denk ik hang 'm op z'n kop :-) Het valt trouwens nog niet mee om de touwtjes op dezelfde hoogte te krijgen, pfff!
Recently I was looking through some of my old study books when I found a pattern for a globe inside a math book! It took me quite a lot of clipping, but my pergamano scissors works miracles. I specifically didn't glue all the edges because I didn't want the balloon to be all smooth surfaced. The lady inside the basket is from the Debutante Steampunk collection (Graphic45). I made the basket with a diecut from Marianne Design (Bird Cage Morocco), I just turned it upside down :-) By the way it's not easy to get the ropes at the same level, phew!

Tutorial bloem van lint - Ribbon flower tutorial

Toen Kirsty van City Crafter Challenge me vroeg om deze week Guest Designer te worden, hoefde ik natuurlijk niet lang na te denken, en al helemaal niet vanwege het feit dat er handgemaakte bloemen moesten worden gebruikt! Dit is mijn bijdrage, ik ben een groot liefhebber van de 19e eeuw, vandaar de hoge hoed, én van bloemen natuurlijk!! Het papier is Wisteria van Basic Grey. De hoed is altijd passend te maken, wanneer de cirkels te groot zijn, knip je gewoon de rand af. Ik heb ook een tutorial voor jullie gemaakt, de foto's spreken denk ik wel voor zich, zo niet dan hoor ik het graag! Kirsty, nogmaal heel hartelijk dank voor deze spotlight!!

When Kirsty of City Crafter Challenge asked me to be this week's Guest Designer, I didn't have to think about it, I was utterly thrilled! Also because of the fact that we had to use handmade flowers! Here's my contribution, I'm very fond of the 19th century, hence the top hat, and of flowers, of course! Papers are from Basic Grey (Wisteria). When the top circle of the hat is too big, you just cut off the rim. I also made a tutorial for you, I think the pictures go without saying, if not, just let me know! Kirsty, thanks a bunch for this spotlight!!

Neem een stukje vilt voor de basis van de bloem en naai het lint in lussen erop. Ik heb diverse kleuren lint gebruikt en kralen geregen. Een mooie knoop of andere versiering maakt het geheel af. De rose strik heb ik gemaakt van een lint uit de aanbiedingsbak. Take a small piece of felt for the flower basis and sew on the ribbon in loops. I used different colours of ribbon and beads. A nice button or other embellishment is the finishing touch. The pink mesh is made of ribbon of a stock sale.

Verjaardagen, je kunt er maar beter genoeg van vieren in je leven, ook die van jezelf :-) Voor deze kaart heb ik het papier van Imaginisce (Perfectly Posh) gebruikt, vind het heel geschikt voor een échte meidenkaart! Welke vrouw vind 't nou niet leuk om te winkelen? Al is het maar nieuwe hobby-spullen, ha ha ha!! Vond de quote ook wel grappig! De achtergrond-stempel is van Papermania, de winkelende dame is een digi-freebie van Bugaboo. Als jullie de template willen voor deze kaart, laat dan gerust hier je e-mailadres achter!
Birthdays, you can't celebrate them enough, including your own :-) For this card I used Imaginisce paper (Perfectly Posh), I think it's very appropriate for a girly card! Bratz!!

Ik vind ze nog steeds supergeinig, de tekeningen van Bratz! Voor de verjaardag van mijn tante heb ik deze kaart gemaakt, ze is weliswaar 70+ (sssstttt!), maar ook zij is er dol op. Sterker nog, ze tekende vroeger in mijn poeziealbum zélf dergelijke meisjes! Omdat ze ook erg van felle kleuren houdt, heb ik hier voor de Tiffany-lijn van We R Memory Keepers gekozen. De "bontranden" zijn gemaakt met Puffy Velvet, wat een leuk spul is dat toch! De swirls zijn van Marianne Design, de doily komt uit m'n voorraad. Ingekleurd met distress inkt.

I still think they're super cute, these Bratz images!! This one's for my aunt who's celebrating her 70+ birthday (but don't let her know, LOL!), I know she adores such girls. Better still, she used to draw up similar girls in my poem album when I was a little girl. She's very fond of bright colours, so I picked the Tiffany papers from We R Memory Keepers. The "fir" was done with Puffy Velvet, I really like this stuff!! The swirls are made with diecuts from Marianne Design, the doily's from my stash. Coloured with distress ink.

Shabby Chic

Op het blog van Maya kwam ik zoiets leuks tegen, ik had meteen zin om dat ook te gaan maken. En dat is dan ook meteen wat ik met de kerst heb gedragen. Je hebt het in een handomdraai gemaakt, het is goedkoop, het past perfect en is nog lekker warm ook, deze armwarmers! Nogmaals bedankt voor het idee Maya!

On Maya's blog I found the cutest thing, I immediately wanted to make them myself! It's what I wore at Christmas. They're done in no time, it's cheap, they always fit and they're nice and warm, these armwarmers! Thanks again Maya for this lovely idea!

Een nieuw begin! New beginnings!

Ik heb gisteren ook weer wat kunnen freubelen, heb hiervoor gebruik gemaakt van het prachtige papier van Bo Bunny (Midnight Frost), voor deze tijd van het jaar is het ijzige blauw heel toepasselijk. Gebruikte stansen zijn van Marianne Design en Sizzix. De afbeelding is van Marie France. Luckily I was able to do some crafting yesterday, for this card I used the Bo Bunny papers (Midnight Frost). For this time of year I think the icy blue colours are very suitable. The image is from Marie France. Dies are from Marianne Design and Sizzix.
