Bunny Swing Along!

Ik heb het gevoel dat het vrijdag is! Zo druk met alle last minute bestellingen van klanten. Maar vanaf volgende week wordt het weer rustiger, heb ik weer iets meer tijd voor de broodnodige creatieve ontspanning ;-) 
Voor het Poppystamps blog deze konijnenschommel gemaakt. De lente is in aantocht, heerlijk! En ja, als je de lente in je bol hebt? Dan wil je naar buiten! Dit kleine konijntje wil niets liever dan op de schommel, maar ja, die wildebras moet wel een beetje in de gaten worden gehouden door moeder konijn natuurlijk ;-) Ik heb mijn prieeltje gemaakt door twee x de Meso Background stans uit te snijden en deze in het midden aan elkaar te lijmen. Takjes, blaadjes en bloemetjes groeien al welig:
I have that Friday feeling already! We've been so busy with all these last minute orders from our customers. But as of next week things will quiet down a bit, which will allow for some more creative hours again ;-) 
For our Poppystamps blog I made this bunny swing. Spring is on its way and I love it! And what do you do when spring is on your mind? You want to play outdoors! This wee little bunny likes nothing better than playing on the swing, but of course this impulsive wild one needs to be kept an eye on by Bunny Mom of course ;-) I made my gazebo by cutting two Poppystamps Meso Backgrounds and gluing them together in the centre. Leaves, branches and flowers are already growing in abundance:

Alaaf!! Helau!!

Nog een weekje en dan barst het Carnaval hier weer los ;-) Kunnen we weer gezellig naar de optocht kijken hiervoor in de straat! Omdat het wel weer eens tijd werd voor een swap met vriendinnetje Odetta én het dus binnenkort carnaval is, kwam ik op het idee om een atc-swap te doen:
Another week before Carnival ;-) Groups of dressed up people will parade our street! So much fun! Since it was about time for another swap with my friend Odetta and it being almost Carnival, I got the idea to do an ATC swap:

En deze kreeg ik van Odetta terug, gaaf zijn ze hè? - And I received these from Odetta, aren't they cool?

En omdat ik het gezellig vind om nog wat extra versiering voor in huis te hebben, heb ik het narrenthema nog maar wat verder uitgediept. De afbeelding komt van Deviantart en is van de artiest Bita Smietana, heb deze slechts heel lichtjes ingekleurd en voorzien van glitters. De randen omgekruld, belletjes opgeplakt, omdat dit me doet denken aan de muts van een nar ;-)

And since I like to have some more adornments in the house, I took the jester theme a bit further. The image is from Deviantart (by the artist Bita Smietana). I coloured this only slightly and added some glitter. I curled the edges and added the bells, since I wanted to mimic a jester's hat ;-)

True Love... True Love...

Klaar voor de nieuwe uitdaging bij Vintage Udfordring? Een heel leuk thema dit keer, gebruik verf, spray of mist voor je project. Nou, daar kun je je toch lekker op uitleven? Voor manlief met Valentijn deze canvas gemaakt. Heb eerst de ondergrond geverfd met gesso, laten drogen. Vervolgens gescheurde stukken papier van First Edition (Rose Garden) erop geplakt, hier weer met verdunde witte acrylverf overheen gegaan en heerlijk aan de gang gegaan met stencils en embossing crème. Zo'n leuk spul als je er met je heating tool overheen gaat! Goed laten drogen zodat de rest erop kon worden gelijmd (foto, bloemen, kandelaar). De bloemen heb ik trouwens eerst voorzien van een laagje met water verdunde witte acrylverf, zo zie je toch nog het roze een beetje. En toen mijn eigen glimmermist gemaakt van Perfect Pearls (doe hiervan een heel klein beetje in een verstuiver en mix dit met een klein beetje water). Overal wat spray van aangebracht en daarna afgewerkt met Frantage. Alleen jammer dat je de shimmer niet zo heel goed op de foto ziet! Maar goed, er zit een mooie glans op nou ;-) Are you ready for the new challenge at Vintage Udfordring? We have such a fun theme this time, use paint, spray or mists for your project. Eat your heart out! I altered a canvas for my DH for Valentine's Day. First I applied a layer of gesso, left it to dry and then glued some strips of paper (First Edition, Rose Garden) on it. I then painted these strips with watered down acrylic paint. And then it's time for the fun part, stencilling! I took my embossing cream (such fun stuff if you apply your heating tool!). I made sure everything was dry before adding the photo, flowers and chandelier). Before adding the flowers I painted them with watered down white acrylic paint, you can still see bits of pink here and there. I then made my own glimmer mist (just add a bit of Perfect Pearls in a small atomizer and mix it with a tiny amount of water). Sprayed my canvas and added some frantage as well. Such a shame you can't see the lovely shimmer properly, but it's definitely there ;-)

Plain and simple

Wat? Ja, vandaag eens een simpele kaart. Ik zie soms zulke mooie CAS-kaarten voorbij komen dat ik me daar ook eens aan wilde wagen. Niet dat me dat bijster goed afgaat, want ik mis toch altijd de tierlantijntjes, vandaar dat die swirl ook niet mocht ontbreken ;-)
What? Yes, today I'd like to show you a plain and simple card. I sometimes see these fine CAS cards and though I'd try to make one as well. Not that I've succeeded, mind you, for somehow I always need to add all kinds of details, hence the swirl ;-)

Maar ja, toen had ik mijn kaart af en vond het toch nog maar kaal allemaal ;-) En omdat Marie Antoinette toch nog haar opwachting moest maken op een ander bal, heb ik voor haar maar deze halsband gemaakt van kant en band:

But when I had finished my card, I was still not pleased, for it all seemed so 'naked' ;-) And since Marie Antoinette had to appear at another ball, I made her this necklace from lace and ribbons:

 Ze kan 'm natuurlijk ook als armband dragen, ja, je weet hoe dat gaat bij vrouwen hè? Zo grillig als wat ;-)
Of course she can also wear it as a cuff, oh well, you know what women are like... as fickle as the weather ;-)

En dan wil ik jullie nog de prachtige kaart van vriendinnetje Ros laten zien, had ze mij gestuurd als dank-je-wel voor de kaart en presentjes die ik haar weer had gestuurd ;-) Mooi hè? Nogmaals heel hartelijk dank lieve Ros!

Having A Ball With Marie Antoinette

Marie Antoinette is helemaal klaar voor het bal. Haar hofdame heeft zojuist de laatste hand gelegd aan het zijden handtasje van Hoge Haarheid, eh, ik bedoel Hare Hoogheid en ook de balboekjes zijn voorbereid. Zijde, kant, band en pailletjes, een armbandje en ornamentjes van respectievelijk vriendinnetjes Ros en Odetta zijn allemaal verwerkt in dit tasje dat met de hand is genaaid. 
Marie Antoinette is completely prepared for the ball. Her lady in waiting has just completed her Royal Hairness's, uh, I mean her Royal Highness's silk handbag and the ball dance cards have all been issued as well. Silk, ribbons, lace, sequins, a bracelet and ornaments (gifts from both my dear friends Ros and Odetta) have all been hand sewn into this purse.

Have A Rascal Birthday!!

Vandaag viert vriendinnetje Wendy haar verjaardag! En natuurlijk hoort daar een kaartje bij. Kennen jullie The Little Rascals nog van vroeger? Ook bekend als "Our Gang"? Zulke grappige filmpjes werden er over die boefjes gemaakt, vind het nog steeds leuk om na te kijken! Blijf kennelijk toch nog even in de jaren '20 hangen na Minnie The Moo-cher ;-) Op mijn slider-easelcard zo'n kleine boef (een verkleed jongetje trouwens ;-)
My sweet friend Wendy is celebrating her birthday today! And no birthday is complete without a card. Are you familiar with The Little Rascals? Also known as "Our Gang"? Oh, the comedy short films about this group of little rascals are hilarious! I still love watching them! After Minnie The Moo-cher it seems you have to remain in the Roaring Twenties with me for a while ;-) Don't you just love this little rascal? Who, by the way, is a boy dressed up ;-)

Ja mensen, hier is mijn verhaal over Minnie The Mooo-cher   ;-) Jullie kennen het liedje vast wel! (en voor degenen die het niet kennen, hier vind je de link). Oh, ze vindt het toch zo geweldig om op te treden. Voor iedere show trekt ze haar mooie roze rokje aan, doet haar parels om en vergeet nooit haar nageltjes te lakken! Want Minnie The Mooo-cher is een échte showgirl! Ze klimt op het podium en droomt van shows in de beste theaters van de wereld, maar voorlopig moet ze het maar even met mijn zelfgemaakte toneeltje doen ;-) Dames en heren, geef haar een warm welkom, Miss Minnie The Mooo-cher!!!

Folks, here's my story about Minnie The Mooo-cher ;-) Guess you are all familiar with the song? (and for those of you who don't, here's the link). Oh, she just loves being on stage. Before each show she puts on her nice pink frock, pearls and never forgets to polish her nails! For Minnie The Mooo-cher is a genuine show girl alright! She climbs on her pedestal and dreams of performing in the finest theatres of the world, but for now she will have to make due with my DIY concert hall, LOL! Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the stage Miss Minnie The Mooo-cher!!

Etiquette For Ladies

Onze blog hop bij Poppystamps is bijna afgelopen, wil je nog kans maken op één van de nieuwe stanzen, dan kun je op ons blog je reactie achterlaten. Dit kan nog t/m de 24e! Poppystamps is een onderdeel van Memory Box en MB heeft prachtige nieuwe stencils op de markt gebracht. Je kunt ze op allerlei manieren gebruiken, met pasta, chalks, distress inkt, gewone stempelinkt of zoals ik hier laat zien, middels dry embossing. Ik heb hier thuis een geweldig en hilarisch boekje, geschreven in 1894 door Ruth Smythers. Voor degenen die dit niet kennen: het gaat over je huwelijkse plichten (of eigenlijk wat je niet moet doen tijdens het huwelijk ;-) Ik heb zelfs een link gevonden naar de tekst, scheelt weer wat scanwerk ;-) Op de één of andere manier moet ik dan altijd aan die zilveren bijbeltjes denken die dames vroeger meenamen naar de kerk. Het leek mij dus wel leuk om dit boekje een nieuw hoesje te geven en de mijne is gemaakt van metaalfolie m.b.v. één van de nieuwe MB stencils:
Our Poppystamps blog hop is nearly finished, but you have still plenty of opportunity to try and win one of the new dies and/or MB stencils. You can use them in all kinds of ways, with paste, chalks, (distress) inks or like I did in my project: dry embossing. At home I have this amazing and absolutely hilarious little booklet, written back in 1894 by a lady called Ruth Smythers. For those of you who are not familiar with it: it's about your marital duties (or rather actually what you shouldn't do during marriage ;-) I even found a link to the text, so I don't have to scan the pages ;-) One way or another I was thinking of those old silver and beautifully adorned bibles that ladies used to bring to church, so I thought it would be fun to give this booklet a new cover. Mine is made from metal foil and I used one of the new MB stencils to emboss the background:

Ik ben er daarna met zwarte inkt overheen gegaan om het een oud zilveren uitstraling te geven - I then inked it up with black ink to give it a more intense, old silver look:

 Zeg nou zelf, is die tekst niet ge-wel-dig? Gelukkig is er sinds 1894 veel veranderd, ha ha ha!

Van konijntjes naar een katje, als 't maar knuffelt ;-) Gisteren is de nieuwe uitdaging #73 bij Vintage Udfordring weer van start gegaan, een heel gemakkelijk en leuk thema deze keer: gebruik stanzen en/of ponsen. Mijn bijdrage is deze kaart die ik naar mijn jarige vriendinnetje Ros heb gestuurd. De afbeelding heb ik gevonden op Pinterest.

Happy Bunny House

Hebben jullie al meegedaan met de Blog Blitz van Poppystamps? Eén van de nieuwe stanzen winnen is natuurlijk toch wel heeeeeel erg leuk, toch? Wanneer jullie op ons Poppystamps blog een reactie op mijn kaart achter laten, maken jullie kans om die schattige konijnenstansjes te winnen. Ik heb ze gebruikt op mijn stair step kaart, ben nu eenmaal wég van konijntjes. Toen ik jong was (oef, da's al efkes geleden), tekende ik altijd van dit soort schoenhuisjes en het leek me wel grappig om mijn konijntjes daarin te laten spelen en wonen ;-)

Oh, soms kunnen zo toch zo stout zijn hè? Nog zo goed gezegd dat hij niet op de ladder mocht klimmen, tja, toch doen, lekker eigenwijs ;-) De ladder is gemaakt door de filmstrip 2 x uit te snijden en op elkaar te plakken. De twee andere konijntjes spelen op de wip samen (gemaakt van een ijsco-stokje):

Oh, they can be so naughty from time to time, can't they? His mother told him not to climb that ladder, now look at him topple over ;-) I made the ladder by cutting the filmstrip twice and gluing them together. The other two little bunnies are playing on a seesaw (made of a popsicle stick):

Vintage Birthday Card

Vandaag is vriendinnetje Odetta jarig en voor haar heb ik deze kaart met pocket (papieren boterhamzakje) gemaakt. Hierin een tag (met uitstekende hand). De hand en postkaart waren een cadeautje van mijn vriendinnetje Sue.
Today my friend Odetta is celebrating her birthday and I made her this card with pocket (which is actually a paper bread bag). I placed a tag (with the hand reaching out) inside this pocket. The hand and postcard were a gift from my sweet friend Sue.

Wat is het toch superleuk om van een High Tea te genieten! Alweer een tijdje geleden met wat vriendinnen gedaan, het thema? Alice in Wonderland! Iedereen had zelf iets gemaakt, van een potje jam tot een geborduurde servet. En dit waren mijn bijdragen:

Ik wens jullie allemaal een heel goed, gezond, vrolijk en creatief 2014 toe! Bedankt voor jullie mooie kerstkaarten, hopelijk hebben jullie de mijne ook goed ontvangen? Hebben jullie de Kerst en Oud en Nieuw gezellig doorgebracht? Wij hebben een heerlijke week achter de rug, goed gevierd, nog een paar dagen bij mijn tantes doorgebracht, die konden ook wel wat hulp gebruiken en nu komen we langzamerhand weer in een normaal ritme. Kom dan ook zo gauw mogelijk weer op jullie blogs langs hoor!
