Side Step Into My House

Voor een blogvriendin die binnenkort gaat verhuizen, heb ik deze side step kaart gemaakt. Als het goed is, is de post inmiddels gearriveerd dus kan ik 'm hier wel laten zien. Heb hiervoor het papier van Prima Marketing gebruikt (Jack 'n Jill Collection) en er een huisje van geknipt. De onwijs leuke hekjes zijn dies van Memory Box en zijn te verkrijgen bij My Crafty Heart. 
I made this side step card for one of my blog buddies who's going to move house in a couple of weeks. It should have arrived by now, so I can easily post it. I used Prima Marketing papers (Jack 'n Jill Collection) and turned them into a house. The supercute gate and fences (Memory Box) are available at My Crafty Heart. By the way, the Dutch sign reads "Lots of happiness".

Ik heb weer eens een 'oude techniek' uit de kast getrokken, pergamano! Het hart is een vector patroon dat ik op internet heb gevonden, heb dit op vellumpapier overgetrokken met pergamano inkt en daarna geciseleerd. Het achtergrondpapier is van Basic Grey (Wisteria) en een mij onbekend merk (had nog een stukje over! Heb deze kaart voor al mijn volgsters gemaakt omdat ik het altijd zo lief van jullie vind dat jullie mijn blog komen bezoeken!

I decided to use an 'old technique' again, pergamano! The heart is a vector pattern which I found on the internet. I paper traced it with pergamano ink and subsequently embossed certain parts of the heart. Backing paper is Basic Grey (Wisteria) and another unknown brand (still had scraps lying around!). I made this card for you, my followers, for being so sweet to come and visit my blog!

Ik wil jullie trouwens bedanken voor alle lieve mailtjes ivm mijn verjaardag! Gisteren lag er een envelop in de bus waar deze prachtige kaart van Tracy in zat met allerlei Halloween cadeautjes omdat ze weet dat ik daar zo dol op ben! Voel me nu nog steeds jarig ;-)

I would like to thank you for your sweet birthday mails! And look what I found in the mail yesterday, this wonderful birthday card Tracy  made for me. She even added all kinds of Halloween gifts because she knows how much I love this season! I am definitely celebrating my birthday a little longer ;-)

Chinese New Year - The Year of the Rabbit

Bij ons in de straat woont een Chinese familie die ons ieder jaar een kerstkaart stuurt en wij sturen hen op onze buurt weer een nieuwjaarskaart. Omdat het dit jaar het jaar van het konijn is én dit ook nog eens mijn lievelingsdier is, mocht een konijntje dus niet ontbreken! Ik heb de vorm van het konijn uitgeknipt uit rood glanskarton, deze door de embossing folder (chinese lantaarns-Oriental Weave) gehaald voor het effect. Voor de achtergrond heb ik een stuk Chinese stof gebruikt. De tak is een creatable stans van Marianne Design. 
There's a Chinese family who lives down our street and who sends us a Christmas card every year, so we're sending them Happy New Year cards in return. Since 2011 is the Year of the Rabbit and the rabbit is my favourite animal I put one up on this card! I cut out the shape of a rabbit of red glossy cardstock, ran it through my embossing folder (Chinese lanterns-Oriental Weave) for a more detailed effect. For the background I used a piece of original Chinese fabric. The branch is a creatable die from Marianne Design.

Draaimolen - Merry Go Round

Het is hier volop zomer en daar hoort ook de kermis bij. Als ik aan de kermis denk, dan is mijn eerste gedachte de draaimolen, als kind genoot ik al van die prachtige paarden en versieringen, vooral die antieke en eigenlijk is daar niets in veranderd, ha ha ha! Het moest dus een draaimolen worden en daar horen paarden in. Nu wilde het toeval dat ik enkele dagen geleden een prachtig paard had gevonden op de blog van Beccy, écht zo'n ouderwets paard! En ja, bij een kermis hoort snoep, dus Tilda Lollipop maar op het paard gezet; horen jullie de muziek al?

Over here it's summer time, and no summer without a fair! When I think of the fair, my first thought is the merry go round. As a child I loved those beautiful horses and embellishments, particularly those antique ones. Nothing's changed since then, LOL! So it had to be a merry go round with a horse. I just stumbled upon  Beccy's blog and found one of those fabulous old-fashioned carrousel horses! And of course no fair without candy, so I put Tilda Lollipop on the horse. Can you already hear the music?

Carnaval! Mardi Gras!

Hier in het zuiden is het carnaval gisteren al losgebarsten en straks komt hier de optocht in onze straat voorbij, dus dat wordt zeker genieten van al die kleuren! Gisteravond nog gauw een paar maskers gemaakt voor de fun. Veel plezier voor degenen die het gaan vieren! Vond het wel een toepasselijke inzending voor Cute Daisy May, waar de challenge "Bright and Cheerful" is.

Here in the south carnival has already started yesterday and later today we will be having a big parade in our street. We'll be enjoying all these colours, no doubt! Last night I made these masks, just for fun. To those of you who will be celebrating: enjoy yourselves! I thought this would make a nice submission for the Cute Daisy May challenge "Bright and Cheerful".

Chinese New Year

Dit jaar is 14 februari voor heel veel mensen een speciale dag. Zo is het uiteraard Valentijnsdag maar ook Chinees Nieuwjaar én Carnaval! Voor Chinese kennissen heb ik een Nieuwjaarskaart heb gemaakt, en het leek me leuk om deze in te sturen voor de challenge bij La-La Land Crafts "Red". Ik heb diverse stempeltjes gebruikt en goud geembost. De plaatjes zijn met markers ingekleurd.

This year February 14th will be a special day to a lot of people. Of course it's Valentine's Day, but it's also Chinese New Year and Carnival! I made this card for Chinese acquaintances and I thought it would be fun to participate in the La-La Land Crafts challenge "Red". I used several small stamps and embossed them with gold powder. I coloured the children with markers.
