Voor een heel lief vriendinnetje van me dit setje gemaakt, gewoon om haar een rustmomentje voor zichzelf te bezorgen:

 En hoe vinden jullie deze benen dan? Zijn ze niet enig? Raad eens wat dit zijn? Behalve benen dan, ha ha ;-) Het zijn nagelvijlen! Heb ze ingepakt, een doily als rokje gevouwen en wat bloemetjes voor de versiering erop geplakt:

How about these legs? Don't you just love these? Guess what these are, other than legs, that is ;-) They're nail files! I wrapped them up, folded a doily into a skirt and added some die cut flowers on top:

Black or White or? Colours!!

Voor Poppystamps weer eens wat kaarten gemaakt. Ben een beetje tegenstrijdig bezig geweest, zwart/wit versus kleur. Maar omdat ik nu eenmaal een echt kleurenmens ben, eerst de kleurenkaart. Hiervoor eerst met distress inkt een achtergrond gemaakt en daarover heen gestencild, de Sharpie-pen deed de rest, gewoon beetje freestyle ingetekend en stippeltjes aangebracht, allemaal niet zo netjes, mag ook wel eens een keer ;-) Vond het achteraf wel wat op vuurwerk lijken!
Made some cards for Poppystamps again, quite a contradiction really, since I've made a couple in black and white and the other one in colour. But since I simply love colours, I'd like to show you my coloured version first. Made a background with distress inks, used my MB stencils with white ink and my Sharpie pen did the rest, did a bit of freestyle drawing and added little dots here and there. Not so neat, makes a nice change ;-) Afterwards I thought, hey, it's a bit like fireworks!

Met die twee swirl-stansen kun je een geweldige zee maken! Heerlijk toch, om zo dicht aan zee te wonen?

You can make a fabulous sea with these two swirl dies! Don't you just love being so close to the seaside?

En dan terug de tijd in: die van de zwart/wit film. Die leuke filmstrip van Poppystamps is echt zo geschikt voor het thema 'bioscoop'. Van wie de symbolen zijn (die met de hand zijn uitgeknipt)? Tja, wie kent ze niet, zou ik zeggen! De quotes zijn uiteraard van de beroemdheden zelf ;-)
And now let's go back in time: the days of the black and white films. The fabulous film strip of Poppystamps is absolutely perfect for the cinema theme. I hand cut the symbols, guess who they belong to? You all know them, I'd say! The quotes are of the celebrities themselves ;-)

Hello Sweet Baby Girl!

Zulk leuk nieuws! Mijn neef en z'n vriendin hebben een schattig, lief, klein babymeisje gekregen! En natuurlijk moest ik voor hen een kaartje maken, het is dit easelkaartje geworden:
Such wonderful news! My cousin and his girlfriend just had a darling, sweet, little baby girl! And of course I had to make them a card, I sent them this easel card:

 Wou het lekker meisjesachtig houden, zul je zien, wordt het later zo'n stoere motorchickie, ha ha ha! Wij genieten in elk geval in de familie voluit van dit kleine meisje erbij!

I wanted to keep it girly-girly, but who knows, she might turn into one of those cool motor chicks when she grows up, LOL! But our family and I are thoroughly enjoying this sweet little girl!

En mijn tante is nu voor het eerst oma geworden, vindt ze echt helemaal geweldig! Dus voor haar heb ik deze tag gemaakt, mét konijntje, want die vond ik zó lief... Ook een kleurplaatje die is ingekleurd met Spectrum Noir markers.

Marie Antoinette's Love Letter

Wat is een leven zonder romantiek? Ook al weten we allemaal hoe het leven van Marie Antoinette is geëindigd, we weten dat ook zij een romantisch leven heeft gehad. Ik heb een liefdesbrieventasje gemaakt van katoen canvas, helemaal met de hand genaaid. De satijnen bloem is gemaakt volgens mijn tutorial die jullie hier kunnen vinden. Wat verschillende kantjes en parels maken het tasje verder af. Maar nou zou ik bijna het belangrijkste vergeten, de afbeelding zelf! Ik heb in Photoshop een collage gemaakt van diverse afbeeldingen, de tekst "Paris 1784" is er met het lettertype Penman Script op gezet, ook voor de liefdesbrief zelf heb ik dit lettertype gebruikt. Daarna het canvas 'gewoon' door de printer gehaald. Mochten jullie trouwens deze afbeelding graag willen hebben, stuur me dan een mailtje.
What's life without romance? Even though we all know how Marie Antoinette's life ended, we also know that she knew a romantic life, too. I made a love letter pouch out of burlap, sewn by hand. I made the satin flower according to my tutorial that you can find here. Some lace and pearls for further embellishing. But I would almost forget the most important thing, the image itself ;-) I made a collage in Photoshop with several images, I used the font Penman Script for both the text "Paris 1784" and the love letter. I then printed the image directly onto the burlap. Should you wish to use this collage, too, please drop me a line and I'll send it to you.

Side Step Into My House

Voor een blogvriendin die binnenkort gaat verhuizen, heb ik deze side step kaart gemaakt. Als het goed is, is de post inmiddels gearriveerd dus kan ik 'm hier wel laten zien. Heb hiervoor het papier van Prima Marketing gebruikt (Jack 'n Jill Collection) en er een huisje van geknipt. De onwijs leuke hekjes zijn dies van Memory Box en zijn te verkrijgen bij My Crafty Heart. 
I made this side step card for one of my blog buddies who's going to move house in a couple of weeks. It should have arrived by now, so I can easily post it. I used Prima Marketing papers (Jack 'n Jill Collection) and turned them into a house. The supercute gate and fences (Memory Box) are available at My Crafty Heart. By the way, the Dutch sign reads "Lots of happiness".

Als ik nu zo naar buiten kijk dan hebben we gisteren met de optocht ongelooflijk mazzel gehad zeg! Hier sneeuwt 't z'n best! Voor degenen die carnaval vieren: Alaaf!! We hebben gisteren een supergezellige dag/avond gehad met familie, huis versierd met ballonnen en serpentines:

Ik heb weer eens een 'oude techniek' uit de kast getrokken, pergamano! Het hart is een vector patroon dat ik op internet heb gevonden, heb dit op vellumpapier overgetrokken met pergamano inkt en daarna geciseleerd. Het achtergrondpapier is van Basic Grey (Wisteria) en een mij onbekend merk (had nog een stukje over! Heb deze kaart voor al mijn volgsters gemaakt omdat ik het altijd zo lief van jullie vind dat jullie mijn blog komen bezoeken!

I decided to use an 'old technique' again, pergamano! The heart is a vector pattern which I found on the internet. I paper traced it with pergamano ink and subsequently embossed certain parts of the heart. Backing paper is Basic Grey (Wisteria) and another unknown brand (still had scraps lying around!). I made this card for you, my followers, for being so sweet to come and visit my blog!

Afgelopen zondag weer eens iets lekkers gebakken, een citroencake, maar dan in een andere vorm! Toen ik deze vorm zag, was ik verkocht, of beter gezegd, die vorm dan! En ja, ik moet het nu maar in het openbaar bekennen: ik ben schoenverslaafd... Lean, nou niet lachen hè :-) Zó onwijs leuk om een schoen op tafel te mogen zetten!!

Last Sunday I baked a lemon cake, but this time I used a different shape! When I saw this baking mould I immediately tripped over it! And ok, let's bring it out into the open: I'm a shoe addict... Lean, stop laughing :-) It's awesome to place a shoe on the table and being allowed to do so!

 Ik heb echter ook nog een kaart om te laten zien; mijn vriendin, die zeer reislustig is en bij wijze van spreken uit haar koffer leeft, is morgen jarig. Deze kaart past precies bij haar. Ik heb op linnen gestempeld (o.a. 7 Gypsies, Inkadinkado en Stampinback), heb met nepleer de randen van de kofferkaart gemaakt. De vrouwenkopjes zijn gestanst met Marianne Design Creatables (Lady Charleston en Lady Elegant). Het handvat heb ik gemaakt m.b.v. Spellbinders Labels.

I also have a card to show you; my friend, who is extremely fond of travelling and practically lives out of her suitcase, is celebrating her birthday tomorrow. This suitcase card is right up her alley. I stamped on linnen (a.o. 7 Gypsies, Inkadinkado and Stampinback), made the frame with faux leather. The women's heads are die cuts (Marianne Design Creatables Lady Charleston and Lady Elegant). Basis of this card is regular cardstock. The handle was made with Spellbinders Labels.

A little bird told me

"Hallo meisje", zei het gekooide vogeltje. "Ik wist niet dat jij kon praten, ik heb je alleen nog maar horen fluiten", antwoordde het meisje verbaasd. "Dat komt omdat wij op dit moment allebei dezelfde wens hebben, jij wil graag in de tuin spelen en ik wil de wereld zó graag eens van de andere kant bekijken. Ik zit de hele dag opgesloten in m'n kooitje", besloot het vogeltje treurig. Het meisje had medelijden met het vogeltje en besloot om met haar nieuwe vriendje de tuin in te gaan om samen te gaan spelen in alle vrijheid. Ze maakte het kooitje open en meteen vloog het vogeltje de tuin in met de sleutel aan z'n staart. Hij vloog z'n vrijheid tegemoet. "Oh oh", dacht het meisje, "wat heb ik nu weer gedaan?" Maar ze had geen spijt, ze had er een nieuw speelvriendje bij die net als zij vrij en blij kon leven.

"Hello girl", said the caged little bird. "I didn't know that you were able to talk, I only ever heard you whistling", replied the girl. "That's because at this very moment we have exactly the same wish, you are eager to play in the garden and I'm dying to look at the world from a different angle. I'm locked up in my cage all day", the bird retorted with a sad look on its face. The girl felt sorry for the little bird and decided to go and play in the garden with her new playmate. She opened the cage and the little bird immediately flew towards its freedom, with the key dangling from its tail. "Oh oh", the girl thought, "what have I done?" But she had no regrets, she had just made a new friend who was happy to live a free life, too.

Ik ben zo'n beetje opgegroeid met o.a. Sarah Kay en blijf deze afbeeldingen prachtig vinden. Vond het dan ook tijd worden voor een (ezel)kaartje (met dit liefdespaartje). De afbeelding is ingekleurd met distress inkt, het papier is van Webster's Pages. Fijn weekend allemaal!!

I kind of grew up with Sarah Kay and I still have a great fondness for these images. It was about time I made a(n) (easel)card with this love couple. I coloured the image with distress ink, papers are Webster's Pages. Enjoy your weekend!!

Vroege Vogel - Early Bird

Vandaag een hele eenvoudige collage-kaart met plaatjes die ik op het internet heb gevonden. Kanten randje erlangs, het kalendertje is van Webster's Pages. De bloem heb ik weer zelf gemaakt van organza. Heb weer heerlijk kunnen knippen met m'n pergamano-schaartje, zou niet zonder kunnen! Deze kaart is voor een jarige die helaas niet al teveel reden heeft om haar verjaardag te vieren, maar ik denk op deze dag tóch extra aan haar... Zonnige groetjes allemaal!

Today quite a simple collage card, made with images found on the internet. Lace trimming, the small calendar is Webster's Pages. I made the organza flower myself. I loved using my little pergamano scissors to do my fussy cutting, couldn't do without them! This card is for someone who has no reason to celebrate her birthday anymore, but I'm thinking of her nonetheless... Sunny greetings to you all!

Zomermode - Summer Fashion

Vandaag eens iets anders dan een kaart of creatie van papier! Ik ben dol op riemen en i.p.v. dat ik er weer eens eentje heb gekocht, heb ik er maar zelf eentje gemaakt van restantjes stof. Ik heb de lengte bepaald met behulp van een goedzittende riem, de basis van de riem heb ik gemaakt van witte suedine (meerdere lagen gevouwen voor de juiste stevigheid). Vervolgens afgewerkt met organza-satijn, kant en tule. Dit ging nog goed met het naaimachine en daar ben ik niet bepaald handig mee! Maar toen begon het gefreubel: het met de hand opnaaien van alle kraaltjes, bloemetjes en glinstertjes. Heb voor de krulvormen lekker m'n fantasie gevormd en heb de naald het werk laten doen ;-) Omdat ik in de zomer nogal veel wit draag en turquoise nu eenmaal één van m'n favoriete kleuren is, kan ik deze riem vrij makkelijk combineren. Today I'm going to show you something else than a paper creation or a card! I love to wear belts and instead of buying one I made one myself with fabric leftovers. I measured a well fitting belt and made the basis out of white suedine (folded several layers). I then applied organza satin, lace and tulle. This went rather well with my sewing machine that usually isn't my friend! But I was finally allowed to pick up the needle and thread in order to sew on all the beads, flowers and bling bling parts. The swirly shapes are my imagination, I didn't follow any specific patterns. In summer I love to wear white and turquoise happens to be one of my favourite colours. This belt easily matches the rest of my summer wardrobe. Thanks for having a peek! Have a lovely weekend!
