Styles Change, Style Doesn't

We hadden weer zin in een swap en het thema van Steampunk is dit keer door Odetta bedacht. Wat is dit toch een aparte stijl, die prachtige Victoriaanse invloeden spreken me enorm aan! Ik heb gekozen voor een uitgeknipte hoge gepimpte hoed en vond het Graphic45 Steampunk Debutante papier hier buitengewoon geschikt voor. Heb een soort corsetje gemaakt en natuurlijk mogen de verschillende metaalelementen niet ontbreken! De opgerolde bloemen zijn gemaakt met de stans Spellbinders Spiral Blossom One die bij My Crafty Heart voor een hele scherpe prijs leverbaar is. Binnenin wat grote parels. Heb nog een vrouwenkopje uitgeknipt en in een brad geplaatst en voorzien van een laklaag (Glossy Accents (Ranger). De tekststempel is van Scrollswork.
We felt like another swap and the theme of Steampunk was set by Odetta this time. Oh, I just love this style, I'm really very partial to those fine Victorian influences! I made an embellished top hat which was cut by hand and used the most appropriate papers of Graphic 45 (Steampunk Debutante). I made a kind of corset and added all kinds of metal embellies. The rolled up flowers were made with the Spellbinders Spiral Blossom One die, which is available from My Crafty Heart at an extremely competitive price! Inside some huge pearls. I've also cut out a female head, placed it inside a brad and applied some Glossy Accents (Ranger) to it. The text stamp is from Scrollswork.

Steampunk birthday boy

Vandaag is m'n mannetje jarig! Heb met één van de nieuwe embossingfolders van Couture Creations en het Core'dinationspapier van Tim Holtz de achtergrond van m'n kaart gemaakt. Wat is dit toch gaaf papier om mee te werken! Was zo slim om eerst m'n hobbykamer te stofzuigen en alles schoon te maken en ben toen lekker aan het schuren geslagen ;-) Maar goed, ik ben de enige bewoner van die kamer ha ha ha! De Steampunk afbeelding heb ik op Deviantart gevonden en is van Lazendar, ik heb distress inkt gebruikt voor het inkleuren voor een beetje shabby resultaat. De tekststempels zijn gecombineerd. Maak er een mooi weekend van allemaal!!

Today is my DH's birthday! I've taken one of the new embossing folders of  Couture Creations and Tim Holtz Core'dinations paper to create the background of my card. Boy I love these papers, they're so cool! I was clever enough to first start vacuum cleaning my craft den and clean the whole lot and THEN I started sanding the papers, ;-0! Oh well, I'm the only one who lives in that room, lol! I found the Steampunk image on Deviantart, it's from an artist called Lazendar. I used distress inks for a bit of a shabby look, I combined two text stamps here. Have a lovely weekend you all!!

Steampunk balloon

Ik was pas wat oude studieboeken aan het doorbladeren, kom ik een patroon in een wiskundeboek tegen om een globe te maken! Er is heel wat knipwerk bij komen kijken, maar m'n pergamanoschaartje werkt wonderen. Ik heb expres niet alle randen geplakt omdat ik geen gladde ballon wou maken. Uit de collectie van Graphic45 ( Debutante Steampunk) komt natuurlijk de dame die in het mandje zit. Het mandje is trouwens gemaakt met een stans van Marianne Design (Bird Cage Morocco), ik denk ik hang 'm op z'n kop :-) Het valt trouwens nog niet mee om de touwtjes op dezelfde hoogte te krijgen, pfff!
Recently I was looking through some of my old study books when I found a pattern for a globe inside a math book! It took me quite a lot of clipping, but my pergamano scissors works miracles. I specifically didn't glue all the edges because I didn't want the balloon to be all smooth surfaced. The lady inside the basket is from the Debutante Steampunk collection (Graphic45). I made the basket with a diecut from Marianne Design (Bird Cage Morocco), I just turned it upside down :-) By the way it's not easy to get the ropes at the same level, phew!
