Which Shoe? Witch's Shoe!

Vandaag m'n laatste bijdrage als GDT-lid voor Shopping Our Stash. Weer een hele leuke challenge deze keer, #174, Halloween! Ik heb helaas dit jaar erg weinig gemaakt, terwijl ik het juist zo'n gaaf thema vind! Combineer dat met mijn voorliefde voor schoenen en voilà, de heksenschoen is geboren ;-) Papier is van MME, de 'spinnewebvleugels' gemaakt met een stans van Memory Box:

Unfortunately I have not been able to create much for Halloween, although I'm so fond of the theme! Ik heb slechts één stans gebruikt voor de achtergrond van mijn teenslippers, de bloem is gemaakt met Cappuccino Solid Twine. De prachtige roos komt weer uit Frida's winkeltje.

I used only one die to create the background of my flip flops, the flower was made from Cappuccino Solid Twine. The beautiful and delicate rose is from Frida's store.

Life Is Short, Wear High Heels!

Wanneer je mijn blog regelmatig bezoekt, dan weet je dat ik een échte schoenenliefhebber ben. Schoenen en boeken, daar draai ik mijn hoofd graag voor om! Ik kon het dus eigenlijk niet laten om voor een jarige vriendin van me dit Victoriaanse laarsje te maken. Met een hakje, want ja, dan lijk je nog wat als je net zoals ik niet zo groot ben hi hi hi! En i.p.v. de rijgveters heb ik natuurlijk bloemetjes gebruikt, want da´s weer een andere tic van me. Het is echt heerlijk blogweer, het heeft hier zojuist zelfs gehageld, dat geloof je toch niet! Geniet van jullie avond en bedankt weer voor het langskomen, altijd gezellig om jullie hier te ontmoeten!

If you are a regular visitor to my blog, you know that I´m a real shoe addict. 

A nice couple of shoes and books always make my head turn! So I couldn´t resist making this Victorian boot for a friend of mine who´s celebrating her birthday in a couple of days. With a heel, because yes, it´ll make you look taller, especially when you´re quite small, like me, lol! And instead of shoelaces I of course went with some flowers, flowers being another addiction of mine. This is the best blog weather ever, we´ve even had hail just now! Would you believe it! Enjoy your evening girls and thanks for barging in, always enjoying your company!

Afgelopen woensdag en donderdag waren mijn blogvriendin Stella en mijn schoonzus Agitte jarig en daar moest natuurlijk wat voor worden gemaakt. Nu is Stella helemaal stapel op alles wat blauw is en ben ik in de familie niet in de enige met een schoenentic, want mijn schoonzus is hier ook dol op ;-) Dus ik vond het wel weer tijd voor wat schoentjes, kunnen ze meteen hun nieuwe levensjaar mee instappen! Voor mijn schoonzus moest het rose zijn, want ze is 50 geworden (sshtt, niet verder vertellen!) en geeft een Sweet 50 feestje waarbij iedereen in het rose gekleed moet komen, leuk leuk leuk, heb er nou al zin in! Maak er een mooi weekend van allemaal en bedankt voor al jullie reacties op mijn laatste bericht ;-)

 Last Wednesday my blog buddy Stella and my sister-in-law Agitte celebrated their birthdays so of course I had to make them something. Stella is extremely fond of anything blue and thank goodness I'm not the only one in our family with a shoe addiction ;-) I thought it was time for a couple of new shoes again, for Agitte and Stella to step into their new year! For my SIL it had to be pink, for she turned 50 (sshht, don't tell anyone!) and is throwing a Sweet 50 party where we all have to dress up in pinks, fab fab fab, I'm already looking forward to it!! Have an enjoyable weekend girls and thanks for your sweet reactions to my last post ;-)

Sinterklaas is weer in ons land! En dat betekent dat we onze schoen weer mogen zetten in de hoop dat er iets lekkers of leuks in valt! En natúúrlijk geloof ik nog in de Sint ;-) Zing alle liedjes mee op straat, ben dol op kruidnoten en Chai thee. Omdat het schoentjestijd is, heb ik een paar Marie Antoinette schoentjes gemaakt. Bedankt voor jullie bezoek!
St. Nicholas is visiting our country again! Which means we get to put our empty shoe nearby the chimney, hoping that something nice or delicious drops into it! And it goes without saying that I still strongly believe in St. Nick :-) I just love to sing along (there are many songs about St. Nick), I'm a huge fan of ginger nuts and Spicy Chai tea. Since it's "shoe time" over here, I made a couple of Marie Antoinette shoes to celebrate this feast. Thanks for visiting!

Let's take a walk through Paris on our Eiffel Tower shoes?

Als je niet beter zou weten, zou je denken dat Trishia van French Kissed Postcards een française is! In haar webshops bied ze de mooiste collectie antieke ansichtkaarten aan. Dus ik denk dat jullie wel begrijpen waarom ik helemaal enthousiast was toen Trishia me vroeg om in april haar GD te zijn! Frankrijk is sowieso één van mijn favoriete vakantiebestemmingen, dus ik denk dat ik me als haar bloggast erg thuis ga voelen bij haar! Nogmaals hartelijk dank voor je uitnodiging Trishia! Waarom ben ik met een schoen begonnen: ik zag als eerste de ansichtkaart van de man met de bloemen en viel als een blok voor hem. De schoen staat eveneens symbool voor de aftrap op Trishia’s blog en dat niet alleen: de meeste dames onder ons zijn toch gék van een charmante man mét bloemen, schoenen EN natuurlijk Parijs! Dus zullen we een wandeling gaan maken op onze Eiffeltorenschoenen? Hoge hakken zijn weer helemaal in! Ik heb een zool gekopieerd, een beetje gewijzigd en dit vormde de basis van mijn schoen. Stuur me gerust een e-mail als je deze schoen ook zelf wilt maken! De hak is gemaakt met behulp van deze template. Het papier is van Prima Marketing (Shabby Chic Collection). Een beetje kant en parels toegevoegd en wat seam binding dat ik heb bestempeld met teksten als ‘amour’ en ‘Paris’. Zeg nou zelf dames, kunnen jullie zo’n man weerstaan? Trouwens, wisten jullie dat Trishia iedere maandag op haar blog een freebie heeft? Neem er eens een kijkje en als je langs gaat, doe haar dan de hartelijke groeten van me! In haar beide webshops zibbet.com en etsy.com/shop/frenchkissed vind je een geweldige collectie antieke ansichtkaarten!

If you didn’t know any better, you would think Trishia from French Kissed Postcards was French! In her webshops http://www.zibbet.com/FrenchKissed and www.frenchkissed.etsy.com you will find the finest collection of antique postcards. So I think you can easily imagine why I was thrilled to bits when Trishia asked me to become her Guest Designer for April! France is definitely one of my favourite countries to be, so I’m going to feel very much at home as her blog’s resident! Thanks again for having me Trishia!!

Just a little background info on why I started off with a shoe: I first saw the pretty postcard of the man with flowers and immediately ‘fell’ for him. The shoe is symbolic for the kick-off on Trishia’s blog and apart from that: most ladies are fond of a charming guy with flowers, shoes AND last but not least Paris! So let’s walk round Paris on some Eiffel tower shoes ;-) They're all the rage again this summer!

I copied a sole, changed it a little and used this as the basis for my shoe, just leave me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to send you the template! The heel is made with this template. Paper is from Prima Marketing (Shabby Chic Collection). Some lace and pearls are added and I used some seam binding which I stamped with words like ‘amour’ and ‘Paris’. Could you girls resist a guy like this?

Marie Antoinette schoenen - shoes

Voor de swap "Let them eat cake, paper shoes" bij Marie Antoinette Mail Art heb ik een paar schoentjes gemaakt; degenen die mijn blog volgen weten inmiddels dat ik dol ben op schoenen. Normaliter met hakken, draag ik zelf ook vrijwel altijd, maar dit keer heb ik een paar platte schoentjes gemaakt. Er moest een taartje op gemaakt worden en ik heb voor dit eerste schoentje gekozen voor chocolade-vanille, leek me wel een lekkere keuze. Ik heb het bloemetje bovenop de strik weer zelf van papier gemaakt en ik heb een paar kleine geurige bloemvormige zeepjes in organza ingepakt als cadeautje. De hak van de schoen is gemaakt met Spellbinders Lattice Borderabilities. Het papier van dit schoentje is van 
K & Company. De template is van Terri.
For the swap "Let them eat cake, paper shoes" over at Marie Antoinette Mail Art I made a few shoes; those of you following my blog know that I love shoes. Usually high-heeled, it's what I like to wear almost all of the time, but this time I made a few flat shoes. They needed to feature a cake somewhere on the shoe. For the first one I chose chocolate-vanilla, seemed like a tasty choice. I made the flower on top of the bow out of paper and I gift wrapped a few small flower shaped soaps in organza. The heel of the shoe is made with Spellbinders Lattice Borderabilities. Papers used are by K & Company. Template is Terri's.

Het tweede schoentje is weer een ander smaakje, aardbeien-mint. De grote organzabloem in het midden van de schoen heb ik weer zelf gemaakt en zo ook het kleine taartje in de hak, klein mini-kaarsje erin verwerkt, beetje bling bling erop, voilà! Voor de rand van de schoen heb ik hetzelfde organza gebruikt. Het papier is overigens van Webster's Pages.

The second shoe has a different flavour, strawberry-mint. I made the large organza flower in the middle of the shoe myself again, same as the small cake in the heel, I tucked a small candle inside, added some bling bling and voilà! For the heel I used the same organza. Paper is Webster's Pages.

Tutorial schoentje - Tutorial shoe

Ik heb inmiddels al van diverse mensen het verzoek gekregen om een werkbeschrijving voor het schoentje dat op de cover van ARTSpecially nr. 9 staat, dus hier vind je het patroontje. Het idee voor dit schoentje is al vorig jaar zomer geboren. Ik had nl. een paar heerlijke zomermuiltjes maar deze hadden hun beste tijd wel gehad en met pijn in m'n hart moest ik hier dus afstand van doen. Nu zat het binnenzooltje los en ik vond de vorm zo sierlijk dat een ideetje gauw was geboren. Ik heb het alleen wat spitser gemaakt en er zelf een bijpassend bovenkantje bij getekend. Je hebt 2 zooltjes nodig en 1 bovenkant (al voorzien van vouwlijnen) om het schoentje te maken. Neem een stukje ijzerdraad en bevestig dit tussen de 2 zooltjes (maak vooraf in de hak van het onderste zooltje een klein gaatje waardoor je het ijzerdraad haalt). Plak de 2 zooltjes op elkaar  en buig het geheel in de gewenste vorm. Wil je een lagere hak? Knip dan gewoon een stukje ijzerdraad dat uit de hak steekt af. Versieren doe je met mooie kralen. Leef je uit! Hier nog wat voorbeelden:

Ik doe mee met de challenge bij Bizzy Becs, "Create a little something" en aangezien dit een "little" schoentje is, leek me dat wel leuk! En bij AiFactory is the challenge "3D". En bij Etsy Inspired (Enchanted Beehive) zag ik mezelf al heerlijk badderen met zo'n prachtig stuk zeep en mijn schoentje met "SAVONS" opdruk past daar best goed bij, toch?

Several people requested a tutorial on the small shoe which is on the cover of ARTSpecially nr. 9, so here you can find the template. The idea for this shoe was born last summer. I had a pair of wonderful summer slippers but they were worn out and I felt sorry for having to let them go. The inner sole was loose and I loved the shape of it, so a new idea was born. I only made it a little pointier and I also made the top part. You need 2 soles and 1 top part (folding lines included) in order to make the shoe. Take a piece of iron wire and place it between the 2 soles (you will also need to make a small hole in the lower sole's heel through which you can pull the iron wire). Glue the 2 soles together. Afterwards you can easily bend the now 2-layered sole in the shape you want. Would you like to have a lower heel? Just cut off a little piece of iron wire sticking out of the heel. Decorate with nice beads. Eat your heart out! Above you'll find some more examples.
This is my submission for the Bizzy Becs challenge, "Create a little something" and since this is a "little" shoe I thought it would be fun participating! I'm also entering this for the AiFactory challenge "3D". And Etsy Inspired (Enchanted Beehive) really triggered my imagination. They have such gorgeous soaps and I think my little shoe with "SAVONS" print on it would go pretty well together in your bathroom, don't you think?
