Let's Celebrate in Paris...

Rond deze tijd hebben wij het altijd enorm druk, iedereen vertrekt heerlijk op vakantie terwijl wij stevig aan de bak moeten, tja, moet je ook maar geen seizoensgebonden bedrijf beginnen ;-) Maar door al die drukte blijft er genoeg tijd over om te dagdromen, over Parijs bijvoorbeeld. Heel gek, maar rond juli/augustus krijg ik altijd zin om daarheen te gaan! Een heerlijke wandeling maken door het prachtige Bois de Boulogne, uiteraard eindigend met een verkwikkende witte wijn op zo'n überfrans terrasje, je kent het vast wel! En zo kwam ik op het idee voor deze verjaardagskaart voor blogvriendin Karin.
Around this time of the year we (i.e. my DH and I) are extremely hectic at work, people around us are all going away on holiday, whilst we're working our fingers to the bone, but hey, then we shouldn't have set up a company which is highly seasonal ;-) But despite all the stir and buzz there's enough time left for day dreaming, for instance about Paris. It's really funny, but in July/August I always fancy going there! Taking a wonderful stroll through the magnificent Bois de Boulogne and ending up on one of those superbly French terraces for a nice, invigorating dry white wine, you catch my drift! And thus the idea for this birthday card for blog buddy Karin was born:

 En als je dan uit wandelen gaat, trek je een paar mooie hakken aan, parelkettinkje om en flaneren maar ;-) Afijn, blijf je met je hakken steken in een Frans stokbrood, weg is al je elegantie! Het silhouette is uitgeknipt uit speciaal Scherenschnittepapier, de afbeelding is van Istockphoto.

And if you're going on a stroll, you put on a pair of nice high heels, don't forget your pearl necklace and enjoy your walk ;-) Of course I would get stuck in a French baguette with my heels, so much for elegance! I cut out the silhouette from special Schnerenschnitte paper, the image is from Istockphoto.

Easter With Jane Austen

Jane Austen, Pasen, Wedgewood. De ingrediënten voor mijn kaart van vandaag. Heb silhouetten uitgeknipt van Jane Austen en Mr. Darcy en daar konijnenoren aan gemaakt, kon het niet laten ;-) En ja, met Pasen dekken we onze tafel toch gezellig? Nou heb ik echt geen Wedgewood in huis hoor, ik ben Mrs. Bucket, eh, ik bedoel Bouquet niet hi hi! Maar ik hou wel van een bloemetje erbij, mooie servetten en lekker eten. Wat zijn jullie plannetjes voor de Pasen? Ben benieuwd! Een hele fijne zondag verder en heel erg bedankt allemaal voor jullie leuke reacties op m'n gepimpte bierflesje!

Don't you just love setting the table at Easter? I don't have Wedgewood by the way, after all I'm not Mrs. Bucket, errr, I mean Mrs. Bouquet, LOL! But I do love some lovely flowers on the table, nice napkins and some good food. What are your Easter plans? Would love to hear them. Als het goed is, is de post bij Ineke al langs geweest; ik moest uiteraard een bedankkaartje voor haar maken, ik heb immers van dat beeldige papier van haar gekregen? Dit is het geworden: Ik heb stevig karton beplakt met het blauwe ruitjesstof en de silhouette mannequin uitgeknipt uit zwart karton. De stempelafdruk is gemaakt met de "centimeters" achtergrond van Stampinback. Hoop dat ze 'm leuk vindt!

If all goes well Mr. Postman has already delivered this card to Ineke. I just had to send her a thank you note for giving me such lovely papers? This is my card for her: I used carton paper on which I glued the blue squares fabric. The silhouette dress form was cut out of black carton paper, the stamp is called "centimetres background" (by Stampinback). Hope she likes it!
