Christmas Dinner

Ook zo'n zin in de Kerst? Wij in elk geval wel! En al helemaal omdat onze bovenverdieping voor een groot deel klaar is en ik eindelijk weer bij m'n freubelspullen kan ;-) 
Dit jaar hebben we onze kersttafel in het zwart-wit-zilver opgedaan en ik vond het leuk om er bijpassende bestekhouders bij te maken om onze gasten een leuke Kerst toe te wensen. Je begint met het maken van een gewone kaart, deze vormt de basis voor je houder. Knip daarna een langer stuk papier die vervolgens de achterkant vormt (plak de twee zijden hiervoor op elkaar). Nu kun je het bestek erin schuiven. Ik heb ook de nodige bling voor de extra feestelijke touch toegevoegd. Zien jullie het rode strass-steentje op de 'i' in 'Greetings'? Tja, da's de invloed van Rudolph ;-) 
Ik wil jullie allemaal hele fijne Kerstdagen toewensen, geniet ervan, maar vooral van elkaar!!

Are you all looking forward to Christmas? We sure are! Especially since renovation of our top floor is nearly finished and hence I was able to unpack my craft stuff again ;-) This year our Christmas table will be mainly black, white and silver and so I thought it might be nice to wish our guests a Merry Christmas by making paper cutlery holders. You start with making a regular card and then you simply take a longer piece of paper which forms the base of your cutlery holder. Glue the top part to the paper strip. Now you can put your cutlery inside. I also added some rhinestones for a festive touch. Do you see the red rhinestone dotting the 'i' in 'Greetings'? Yes, that's Rudolph's influence ;-)

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas...

Vintage Udfordring heeft de laatste challenge van het jaar. Het thema? Hoe kan het ook anders: Kerst! Gelukkig had ik mijn bijdrage al kort voor de verbouwing klaar, maar als het goed is, kan ik aan het einde van de week in elk geval weer m'n hobbykamer in ;-) Heerlijk, ik wil zó graag freubelen, heb het enorm gemist!!
Wat heb ik gemaakt, ik heb de afbeelding van een schoolbord genomen en hierop tekst in Word geprint (allerlei leuke fonts ;-) Wou dat heerlijke nostalgische gevoel van vroeger met mijn kaarten oproepen.
Ik kom vanavond weer een blogrondje doen, tot straks!!
Vintage Udfordring is having its last challenge of the year. The theme? Did you expect anything else but Christmas? Thank goodness my cards were already done before our renovation! But if things are going according to schedule, my craft room will be ready by the end of this week ;-) Oh how I have missed creating something!
So, what have I made this time: I took the image of a blackboard and printed my text in Word (took all kinds of different fonts ;-) I wanted to evoke that nostalgic feeling of yore.

A little bit of Love and Affection...

Jullie zijn ongetwijfeld lekker druk met alle voorbereidingen voor de Kerst? Wij gaan voorlopig nog even vrolijk verder met het opknappen van de bovenboel ;-) En wat doe je wanneer je niet bij je hobbyspullen kunt en je tóch wat lieve mensen extra aandacht wilt schenken? Dan kijk je wat je wel hebt (in je keuken bijvoorbeeld) en probeer je toch iets leuks te maken. Voor mijn lieve vriendin (voor wie deze Kerst erg genoeg heel anders zal zijn dan normaal) dit kleine beschermengeltje gemaakt. Heb een stukje kerstversiering genomen en het engeltje in een schroefdeksel geplakt en dit vervolgens op een bierviltje gelijmd:

You look around for things you do have (in your kitchen for example) and try to come up with something nice. I made this little guardian angel for my sweet friend (for whom Christmas sadly enough will be so different this year...) I took a small piece of Christmas garland and glued it inside a screw lid and subsequently glued the whole on a paper beer coaster:

En voor mijn arme 88-jarige tante deze beterschapswens gemaakt. Zij is afgelopen weekend ten val gekomen en heeft daarbij haar heup gebroken...

And then I needed to make a get well soon card for my poor aunt who is 88 years old. Last weekend she fell and broke her hip...

Hiervoor een papieren gebaksbordje genomen, een vintage afbeelding en weer wat kerstversiering die we gelukkig in de kelder bewaren en niet boven ;-)

I took a paper cake dish, a vintage image from the internet and some Christmas decoration (that we keep in our cellar and not upstairs ;-)

Verder heb ik - omdat ik heel wat Kerstkaarten moest hebben nog - dit jaar gekozen voor een simpele, snelle oplossing... Drukwerk... Dus sorry sorry wanneer jullie geen handgemaakte kaart krijgen! (maar ik heb deze fotocollage in Photoshop gemaakt, dat dan weer wel ;-)

Furthermore, I have decided to go for a quick, easy solution this year, for I really needed quite some Christmas cards. I feel terribly sorry for not sending most of you a handmade card! (but I did make this photo collage in Photoshop, LOL!) I had these printed:

I used all kinds of lovely laces that Frida sells, the image was found on Pinterest. The metal embellishment is from Scrapberry's, a wonderfully fabulous and new brand!

For today I have a card for you which I already created some weeks ago. I stamped the background with the woodgrain stamp from Stampin' Up, the ice skate is from Tim Holtz, the paper flowers are made with Spellbinders and the ivy with a diecut from Marianne Design:

Hebben jullie al plannetjes gemaakt voor de Kerstdagen? Onze december-maand zal voor het grootste gedeelte bestaan uit het behangen van de muren boven, tapijt leggen, schilderen (niet per sé in die volgorde, ha ha ha!) Ook al is het boven een beetje rommelig allemaal, beneden kunnen we in elk geval een gezellig kerstsfeertje aanbrengen en dat zullen we dan ook zéker doen! Wordt vervolgd! Mocht ik jullie blogs in de komende tijd niet of nauwelijks bezoeken, dan ligt het dus aan ons kluswerk, willen eigenlijk toch wel heel graag voor de Kerst klaar zijn!

Have you made any plans for Christmas yet? Our December will be a month of wallpapering, carpeting and painting (not necessarily in that particular order, LOL!) Even though things are a bit messy upstairs, we will most certainly create a nice and lovely Christmas atmosphere downstairs! Stay tuned! So if I'm not visiting your blogs in the days to come it's because we've got so much to do upstairs. To be honest we'd like it all to be finished before Christmas ;-)

Het is maar goed dat ik al een heel klein beetje vooruit heb gewerkt, binnenkort (1 december a.s. om precies te zijn) komt Visions of Sugarplums er weer aan. It's a good thing I've been working slightly ahead. Soon (December 1st, to be exact) we will have another Visions of Sugarplums), with lots of fabulous freebies, giveaways and Christmas recipes and ideas. So you see, I'm still enjoying DIY activities, but there won't be many Christmas cards this year I'm afraid... 

Warm Winter Greetings

Allereerst sorry, sorry dat ik zo lang niets van me heb laten horen, maar na het drukke seizoen zijn we er even een weekje tussenuit geweest naar Beieren, deels werk (ja, ik weet het ;-) en deels plezier. Hebben éindelijk het schitterende kasteel Neuschwanstein kunnen bezichtigen, het was een hele trippel naar boven (tja, je kon ook te paard of met de bus, maar wij vertrokken met de benenwagen, geloof het of niet, maar het was héérlijk weer!) Naar beneden ging het heel wat sneller ;-) Zeer de moeite waard! En nu zitten we in een mini-verbouwing (nieuwe electriciteit op de bovenverdieping en dakisolatie). Kan de komende weken dus helaas niet al te veel bloggen en al helemaal amper iets leuks maken, want al m'n freubelspullen zijn ingepakt, wèèèèh... Maar voor vandaag heb ik nog wel iets hoor, Kersthuisjes! Had gedacht om daar straks de menuutjes in op te rollen, leek me wel gezellig ;-)

First of all I am so very sorry for having been MIA for such a long time, but after the hectic season we took off to Bavaria (in the south of Germany), partly for work (yes, I know!), partly for fun. We finally got to see the splendid Neuschwanstein Castle! Gosh, it was quite a walk up there (well, we could have taken the carriage or the bus, but being the diehards we are, we went on foot). Believe it or not, but we've had such splendid weather! And the fun part of an ascending road is that the way downhill is a lot easier ;-) But it was sooooo worth it! And now we're in the midst of rebuilding the upper floors (new wiring and the roof is being insulated). So I am not able to blog much in the coming weeks, although I will most certainly try to as much as I can! And I won't be able to create much, for all my craft stuff is packed away, argh... But I have a little something for today, Christmas houses! I thought it would be a fun idea to insert paper scrolls with the Christmas menus:

A Big Thank You!!

Wat zijn jullie toch lief om aan mij te denken met mijn verjaardag! Heel hartelijk bedankt voor alle felicitaties, mailtjes, kaartjes en creaties, echt super! Die maken een 'normale' maandag toch wel héél bijzonder hoor! I Hold Christmas So Deer...

Altijd leuk, beetje met taal spelen ;-) Jullie raden het al, het heeft iets met de Kerst te maken én met herten. Heb tussen de bedrijven door weer een kaartje gemaakt met als achtergrond het mooie papier van Scrapberry's. Hierop eerst Viva Decor (Letters and Embellishments) en Happy Holidays gestempeld, rozenplaatjes uitgeknipt, frantage toegevoegd en het schattige hertenpaar van Nellie Snellen erop geplaatst. De bovenrand is van Spellbinders, lekker veel diverse stansen gebruikt dus! En alweer een snelle kerstkaart klaar ;-) Ik hoop zo aan het einde van het jaar toch precies het aantal te hebben wat ik nodig heb!
Love playing with words ;-) You probably will have guessed by now that today's card has something to do with Christmas and deer. In my spare time I made another card with the lovely papers of Scrapberry's. I did some stamping first (Viva Decor, Letters and Embellishments, and Happy Holidays), cut out some rose images, added a bit of frantage and the sweet deer couple by Nellie Snellen. The top edge is by Spellbinders. I used quite a couple of dies here, so it's easy to create a quick Christmas card ;-) By the end of the year I hope to have the exact number of cards I need!

Swirly Christmas...

Hallo allemaal! Ben weer aan een late pauze bezig, het is weer heerlijk druk op het werk ;-) Een paar simpele kaarten vandaag met de nieuwe Poppystamps stanzen. Vond dat zilverpapier wel erg leuk, maar jemig, wat is dát papier lastig om goed op de foto te krijgen zeg! Dus heb ik er nog maar een versie met kraftpapier bij gemaakt, zien jullie duidelijker hoe of wat ;-) En ja, op zo'n manier heb je er weer 3 bij ;-)
Hello everyone! Having a late lunch break again, busy busy at work ;-) Today I'm bringing you a couple of CAS cards, made with the new Poppystamps' dies. Really loved using this silver paper, but gosh, it's soooooo difficult to photograph properly! So I made another version with kraft paper, just so you can see more clearly how lovely the patterns are! And I love having 3 more Christmas cards ready like this ;-)

Eerst snijd je de Claudette Frame en daarna leg je daar het Luxe Ornament Outline op, snij dit vervolgens ook uit. Alles past perfect qua maatvoering! Nou, ik zou zeggen, tot vanavond, kom ik weer een rondje bloggen ;-) Nu weer aan het werk!
First you cut out the Claudette Frame, then you place the Luxe Ornament Outline on the die cut piece and cut this as well. Both dies combine wonderfully, the sizes are perfect! Well, see you all this evening, I'll be on my blogging round then ;-) Back to work now!
