Wij Hollanders (eh, ik bedoel Nederlanders ;-) zijn dol op bloemen en of het nou wintert of niet, ik heb ze geregeld in huis, in een vaas, emmer of zelfs in een theepot. Ik was dan ook blij verrast dat Poppystamps o.a. een klassieke theepot in zijn collectie heeft opgenomen. Ik wou jullie nl. nog heel graag het prachtige naaipotje laten zien dat ik van Odetta heb gekregen, vind 'm echt geweldig! Nogmaals heel veel dank! En nu hou ik er echt mee op vandaag ;-)

Skating into the New Year...

Laten we de schaatsen vandaag maar eens onder binden en zo het nieuwe jaar in glijden! Heb op Pinterest een pracht van een vintage-schaats gevonden en heb deze vorm als template gebruikt voor mijn kaart van vandaag. Heel lastig om hologram-papier goed te fotograferen, want het neemt elke kleur op. In het echt is het nl. zilver. Deze is voor mijn lieve blogvriendin Ros, die volgende week haar verjaardag viert. Denk dat het Kanaal bevroren was en dat de postbode er overheen geschaatst is, want de post was er erg snel deze keer!

Let's put our skates on today and slide into the New Year, shall we? I found a fabulous vintage skate on Pinterest and used its shape as a template for my card. Very tricky to photograph holographic paper though, for it reflects all colours. IRL it's silver ;-)  I made this card for my dear blog buddy Ros, who will be celebrating her birthday next week. Think the Channel must have been frozen and that the postman skated all the way across to the UK, because the mail arrived really fast this time!

Zit nu heerlijk te luisteren naar die geweldige CD van Enrique Iglesias, "Sex and Love", zo blij dat die jongen niet op z'n pa lijkt, ha ha ha! Is maar goed dat jullie niet zin hoe ik hier achter m'n laptop zit, want stilzitten is er bij zijn muziek niet bij ;-) Vind muziek een zalige ontspanning na alweer een dag van stevig doorwerken ;-) Eén nadeel van veel werk, je hebt niet zoveel tijd om echt iets supergaafs te maken, vandaag dan ook twee hele simpele kaarten, de één in wit, de ander in het zwart:
I am thoroughly enjoying myself right now, for I'm listening to Enrique Iglesias's amazing album "Sex and Love". So glad the guy doesn't look like his dad, lol! You should see me sitting here behind my laptop, for I simply cannot sit still! Just love listening to music after another day of hard work ;-) One of the disadvantages of having so much work is having very little time to create something really cool. Hence these two super simple cards today, one in white, one in black:

 En als contrast de zwarte verjaardagskaart voor mijn neef, de afbeelding is gestempeld en de tekst is met krijt-lettertypes op de achtergrond geprint:

Christmas in Summer...

Het is bloedheet buiten en dan kom ik met een ijskoude kaart aanzetten! Afijn, eens zal het toch de eerste kerstkaart van het jaar moeten zijn, nietwaar? Dit-is-t-ie dan! Kreeg een tijdje geleden van Ignacio (van Nicecrane Designs) het fantastische aanbod om een afbeelding uit haar store te kiezen en ik heb voor deze - uiteraard nostalgische - plaatjes gekozen, ze hebben zo'n Dickens-gevoel! Dank je wel Ignacio, ik vind die plaatjes helemaal geweldig! Heb het plaatje ingekleurd met Spectrum Noir markers en vrij veel grijs gebruikt om die donkere dagen voor Kerst na te bootsen. En wat frantage langs de randen voor de 'sneeuwlook'. Heel nieuwsgierig wordt deze chique dame bekeken vanachter het raam... waar zou ze heen gaan... zou ze haar Kerstinkopen gaan doen misschien? Gelukkig mogen wij eerst nog van deze fijne zomer genieten voordat we aan de Kerst hoeven te denken! 

Gosh, it's so hot outside, and here am I, posting this icy card, lol! Oh well, there is a first for everything, even Christmas cards! So there we are! A little while ago Ignacio from Nicecrane Designs generously offered me a free image from her beautiful store, needless to say I chose this nostalgic image which has an amazing Dickens feel! Thanks again dear Ignacio, love the images (yes, they come in a set!) I coloured my image with Spectrum Noir markers and used quite a lot of greys for I wanted to create those dark days before Christmas. I added some frantage for that 'snowy look'. A couple of girls are shooting curious looks towards this fancy lady... Where is she heading... will she be Christmas shopping maybe? Thank goodness we first get to enjoy this wonderful summer before we can start thinking of Christmas!

Seasons come and go...

Het ziet hier nog steeds wit van de sneeuw en dat maakt mijn verlangen naar de lente alleen maar groter ha ha ha! Daarom heb ik vandaag een kaart, of beter gezegd, twéé kaarten om te laten zien. Jullie kennen vast het sprookje van Vrouw Holle nog wel? Toen ik deze prachtige stempel van onze lieve teamleidster Teresa van My Crafty Heart toegestuurd kreeg, moest ik daar meteen aan denken. Aan jullie dus de keuze vandaag: kiezen jullie voor de lente of toch voor de winter? Ik ben benieuwd! Eerlijk gezegd zijn alle seizoenen mooi, toch? Zelfs onze gezichten ontkomen niet aan die seizoenswisselingen, maar zeg nou zelf, is dat zo erg? Die paar rimpels? (of een paar meer?). Zo lang ze maar van het lachen komen ;-)
Ik heb twee kaarten aan elkaar gemaakt (kan zelfs nog gewoon worden verzonden, ook al worden de bloemen dan wel wat 'geplet').

It's still white with snow over here, which only increases my longing for spring, LOL! So I've got a card, or better still, TWO cards to show you today. You are probably all familiar with the fairytale of Mother Hulda? When our sweet team leader Teresa from My Crafty Heart sent me this lovely Elizabeth Bell stamp to work with, that fairytale immediately sprung to mind. Which season do you girls prefer? Spring or winter? Would love to know! But aren't all seasons beautiful? Even our faces have to undergo the changing of the seasons, LOL! Honestly, that isn't so bad now, is it? Those few wrinkles (or perhaps a couple more?) As long as you can say they came from laughing too much ;-)

Bratz!!

Ik vind ze nog steeds supergeinig, de tekeningen van Bratz! Voor de verjaardag van mijn tante heb ik deze kaart gemaakt, ze is weliswaar 70+ (sssstttt!), maar ook zij is er dol op. Sterker nog, ze tekende vroeger in mijn poeziealbum zélf dergelijke meisjes! Omdat ze ook erg van felle kleuren houdt, heb ik hier voor de Tiffany-lijn van We R Memory Keepers gekozen. De "bontranden" zijn gemaakt met Puffy Velvet, wat een leuk spul is dat toch! De swirls zijn van Marianne Design, de doily komt uit m'n voorraad. Ingekleurd met distress inkt.

I still think they're super cute, these Bratz images!! This one's for my aunt who's celebrating her 70+ birthday (but don't let her know, LOL!), I know she adores such girls. Better still, she used to draw up similar girls in my poem album when I was a little girl. She's very fond of bright colours, so I picked the Tiffany papers from We R Memory Keepers. The "fir" was done with Puffy Velvet, I really like this stuff!! The swirls are made with diecuts from Marianne Design, the doily's from my stash. Coloured with distress ink.

Ik heb gisteren ook weer wat kunnen freubelen, heb hiervoor gebruik gemaakt van het prachtige papier van Bo Bunny (Midnight Frost), voor deze tijd van het jaar is het ijzige blauw heel toepasselijk. Gebruikte stansen zijn van Marianne Design en Sizzix. De afbeelding is van Marie France. Luckily I was able to do some crafting yesterday, for this card I used the Bo Bunny papers (Midnight Frost). Van mijn blogvriendin Ros heb ik deze prachtige award gekregen, ben er superblij mee! Heel hartelijk dank! Nou is het bij awards meestal zo dat je bepaalde dingen over jezelf moet vertellen, zo ook bij deze, maar als jullie het goed vinden, wil ik hier een eigen draai aan geven. Omdat we het oude jaar bijna uitluiden, wil ik alle bezoeksters van mijn blog graag de award doorgeven én 8 dingen wénsen:
1. luister naar je gevoel en doe wat je hart je ingeeft
2. neem vooral de tijd voor elkaar
3. probeer eens wat vaker te luisteren i.p.v. te praten, je zult zien dat je gesprekken véél interessanter worden!
4. lach eens gewoon spontaan naar iemand op straat, de meeste mensen reageren blij verrast
5. laat ieder mens in zijn waarde, we zijn per slot van rekening allemaal uniek!
6. gedraag je af en toe als een kind en voel de blijdschap in jezelf
7. zonder geluk en gezondheid vaart niemand wel, dus dat wens ik jullie zeer zeker toe
8. wanneer je je open stelt voor andere mensen en hun ideeën dan komt de creativiteit vanzelf!

My blog buddy Ros gave me this beautiful award, I'm thrilled! Thank you so much! You all know how it works, you have to tell certain things about yourself. But if you girls don't mind I'd like to change the "rules". Since this year has nearly come to its end, I would like to pass on this award to all of my visitors. These are my 8 wishes for you: 

1. listen to your heart, you'll know when something feels good or bad

2. take some more time for each other

3. try to listen more instead of talking, you will see that conversations tend to become much more interesting! 

4. just smile at someone you meet and don't know, most people will be pleasantly surprised 

5. accept all human beings as they are, after all we are all unique!

6. don't feel embarrassed if you behave like a child every now and then and feel the happiness inside yourself

7. we cannot live without luck and happiness, so these are definitely my wishes for you
