Trick or Treat, Hide and Seek!

Sorry sorry dat ik de laatste paar dagen niet in blogland ben geweest, keek scheel van de hoofdpijn... Het is nog niet helemaal weg, maar hopelijk zorgt een glaasje rode wijn voor de rest ;-) Ik kom van het weekend graag weer bij jullie langs!! Heb net toch nog even een herfsttafereeltje in elkaar geflanst:

It still hasn't quite left my system, but hopefully a nice glass of red wine will see to that ;-) I will pop over to your blogs during the weekend to see what you've all been up to!! Dit schattige heksje deed me denken aan hoe kinderen altijd verstoppertje spelen, je kent het wel, ze gaan achter het gordijn staan en roepen dan keihard "zoek me dan, je kunt me toch niet vinden!"

This cute little witch reminded me of how children always play hide and seek. You know how they love to hide behind the curtain and scream out loud "Come try and find me, you don't know where I am!"

De pompoen is supersimpel om te maken, gewoon allemaal reepjes papier knippen, aan elkaar plakken, een stukje lint door al die cirkeltjes rijgen en vastknopen, voilà! Kennen we vast nog wel van de kleuterschool, toch? 

It's extremely easy to make this pumpkin, just cut out lots of paper strips, glue the ends together, pass a ribbon through all these circles and tie a knot, that's it! We probably all made one of these during our kindergarten days, right?

Noël à Versailles

Vandaag neem ik jullie mee naar Versailles, die magische plek waar Marie Antoinette eens het scepter zwaaide. Ik heb een windlicht gemaakt van cardstock met een beetje barokke uitstraling. Hiervoor was de stans "Grand Townhouse Window" van Poppystamps buitengewoon geschikt. Heb achter alle 4 ramen vellum geplaatst:
Today I am whisking you off to Versailles, that magical place where Marie Antoinette once reigned supreme. I have created a little cardstock luminary with a baroque feel, using the "Grand Townhouse Window" die from Poppystamps. Vellum was placed behind all 4 windows:

 Verlicht - Lighted luminary:

 Ik heb wat swirls met Versamark op het cardstock gestempeld en vervolgens bepoederd met Perfect Pearls (goud) voor een wat meer barok effect. Het windlicht kan gewoon worden platgevouwen en worden opgestuurd met de post. Heb dit voor een vriendin van me gemaakt als kerstcadeautje:
I stamped some swirls onto my cardstock with Versamark and then added some Perfect Pearls powder (gold) to give it a more baroque look. Since the luminary can be laid flat, it's easy to post it. This will be my Christmas gift for a dear friend:

La Belle Marquise

Toen ik de nieuwe stans Angel Corner van Poppystamps voor het eerst zag, viel me meteen het fijne, bijna kantachtige karakter op. En toen ik een beetje rond begon te draaien, zag ik er een vlinder in:
When I first saw the new Poppystamps die 'Angel Corner' I was immediately struck by its delicate character, it has such a fine, lacey structure. And so I started playing around a bit and suddenly saw a butterfly, hence today's card:

Ik heb een muziekstuk uit een oud pianoboek gehaald, vond de titel "La Belle Marquise" heel goed passen bij m'n vlinder ;-) En alweer heb ik de prachtige borderstans gebruikt, hou zo van dat patroon! Heb nog een oude oorbel toegevoegd, deze vormt het lijfje van m'n vlinder:
I went with this old music sheet (from an old piano book) and thought the title "La Belle Marquise" would go nicely with my butterfly. I couldn't resist using the beautiful border die again, for it has such an intricate pattern! I also added an old broken earring that I had lying around, thought it would make a nice butterfly body:

Christmas Shopping!

Allereerst heel hartelijk dank voor al jullie gezellige, leuke, lieve, enthousiaste reacties op m'n bloemenkinderen! Een grote overstap van dit kleurige bloemboeket naar de winter, ja ja, heb inmiddels weer een kerstkaart - nou ja, muurhanger dan - af. Ben zelf helemaal wég van die mooie plaatjes van Ignacio van Nicecrane Designs en in combinatie met de prachtige versieringen die Teresa van My Crafty Heart verkoopt heb ik dit gemaakt:
First of all thank you all so much for your lovely, sweet, dear, enthusiastic comments on my flower children! Today a giant leap from this colourful bouquet of flowers to winter! Yes, I have finished another Christmas card, or rather wall hanging. I do so love the amazingly beautiful images from Ignacio (Nicecrane Designs) and I've teamed one of the digi images up with the magnificent adornments that Teresa from My Crafty Heart is selling.

 Heb gewoon een stuk karton gepakt, papier verwijderd, witte verf erop gesprayd, vervolgens op de nog natte verf Frantage gestrooid (leuk spul!) en verhit. De afbeelding is ingekleurd met Derwent Coloursoft potloden:

I just took a piece of plain cardboard, took off excess paper, sprayed white paint on it, immediately sprinkled Frantage (I just love this stuff!) on top of the wet paint and heated it. I coloured the image with Derwent Coloursoft pencils:

Wishing Well...

Vandaag begint de nieuwe challenge bij Vintage Udfordring en we dagen jullie uit om een kaart te maken met twine en charms (ja ja, ik weet het, ik heb de opdracht niet helemaal goed uitgevoerd, was weer eens in dromenland...) We hebben allemaal onze wensen (de mijne van dit moment zou meer vrije tijd zijn, ha ha ha! Het is nu zó druk i.v.m. de Oktoberfesten!) en deze dame verlangde zó naar een leuke man in haar leven, dat ze een muntje in de wensput gooide en kijk nou wat ze omhoog haalt in haar emmertje? Deze guitige, leuke man!
Today we have a new challenge at Vintage Udfordring, we would like to see a card with twine and charms (yes, yes, I know, I didn't exactly read the challenge properly, was spending some time in dreamland again...) We all have our wishes (mine would be having more spare time at the mo, LOL! It's now extremely hectic because of the Oktoberfesten) and this little damsel so longed for a loving man to share her life with, that she tossed a coin into the wishing well and lo and behold! She hauled up this cute, funny fellow in her bucket!

En dan werd ik vorige week nog blij verrast met nog meer verjaardagspost! Mijn lieve vriendin Teresa had me dit geweldige pakket toegestuurd, het was weken onderweg maar uiteindelijk toch goed aangekomen! Heerlijke chocola, een prachtige kaart, geweldige geurkaarsen en supermooie notebook mét schoenen! Nogmaals heel hartelijk dank, je bent een engel en je hebt me superverwend!

And last week I was extremely pleasantly surprised to receive even more birthday mail! My lovely friend Teresa sent me this wonderful parcel, it was en route for weeks, but in the end it arrived safe and sound! Yummy chocolate, a gorgeous card, wonderful fragrant tea lights and beautiful notebook with shoes!! Thanks again sweetie, you have spoilt me to bits!!

Have Yourself A Sparkling Little Christmas...

Vandaag een kerstkaart, pas m'n tweede van dit jaar bedenk ik zojuist! Moet toch maar eens een beetje vaart gaan maken. Maar met die nieuwe stansen van Poppystamps, gaat dat eigenlijk best snel! Ik heb een behoorlijk klassieke kaart gemaakt met de nieuwe borderstans, is dus niet alleen maar geschikt voor randjes:

 Today I've got a Christmas card to show you, it's only my second of this year! So I'd better make haste in making some more, but the new Poppystamps dies make this 'job' a lot easier! I made a rather classic card with the new border die, so there's more to this die than just serving as a border!

Ook één van de nieuwe fijne bijpassende tekststempels gebruikt, wat parels als kerstversiering en een oud onderdeel van een kapotte armband - I also used one of those fine matching text stamps, some pearls as adornment and a piece of old jewelry.

Wat heb je nodig om deze hartpomander te maken: een heleboel bloemen en een beetje geduld ;-) Ik heb mijn hart in laagjes opgebouwd, gewoon door diverse maten hartjes uit te knippen:

When I first laid eyes on this beautiful hydrangea die I was immediately smitten, I've always loved flowers and hydrangeas are one of my favourite flowers. So, what do you need to make this flower heart: well, a lot of flowers and a little patience ;-) Here's how my heart was built up, I simply cut out several sized hearts and layered them:

En daarna heb ik de bloemetjes ingekleurd met distress markers, de achtergrondpagina komt uit "Evolution de la langue française", een oud studieboek. Foei, heb ik hier toch gewoon zomaar een pagina uitgescheurd, kwam vast omdat de prof destijds een beetje stoffig les gaf, ha ha ha!! 
And then I coloured the petals with distress markers; the background page is from an old study book called "Evolution de la langue française". Oh my, did I just tear out a page from a book? Must be because our professor was not all too inspirational in teaching us, LOL!

New Poppystamps Dies Are Here!

Vandaag komen er maar liefst 74 nieuwe stansen en 20 nieuwe cling stamps uit bij Poppystamps. En ze zijn geweldig! Wil je kans maken op zo'n mooie stans of stempel? We gaan even de diepte in vandaag, we hebben allemaal verschillende dingen die we belangrijk vinden het leven, voor mij zijn dat liefde (love), het leven (life) en geluk (happiness), in die volgorde. Want zonder liefde is het leven waardeloos en zonder geluk zou je niet van het leven houden. Voor sommigen is dat geld, succes en status, anderen kiezen wellicht voor familie of vrienden. Welke sleutel zouden jullie uitkiezen? De tekstovalen zijn gemaakt in Word. Waarom zwart/wit? Niks is toch zwart/wit? En het beetje rose? Een leven zonder kleur is toch ook maar saai?

Let's get philosophical ;-) I have a couple of key questions for you. We all have different things that we value most in life, for me these would be Love, Life and Happiness. In that particular order, for without Love, Life would be worthless, and without Happiness you wouldn't Love Life. For some it would be money, success and status, others might choose family or friends. Which keys would you pick? I made the ovals in Word and why the choice for white/black? Nothing really is, is it? Hence the dash of pink, for what would life be if we didn't have any colour in it!

Black Velvet

Vandaag begint er weer een nieuwe uitdaging bij Vintage Udfordring, ééntje die jullie allemaal wel aanspreekt, "Alles mag". Na al mijn 3D-geweld van de afgelopen tijd heb ik dit keer weer eens voor een kaart gekozen voor de verandering ;-) Ik ben begonnen met het stempelen (VersaMark) van swirls (Viva Decor) op zwarte cardstock, heb deze bestrooid met embossing poeder van Ranger (Black Puffs) voor een wat poederachtig, fluwelen effect. En daarna verder versierd met kapotte sierraden en andere frutsels. De afbeelding is Arlette Dorgère, de fameuse actrice uit Parijs:

Today we have a new challenge over at Vintage Udfordring, one that will appeal to you all: "Anything goes". After all my 3D projects lately I thought it was a change, so I made a card this time ;-) I started stamping swirls (Viva Decor) on black cardstock (with VersaMark), sprinkled some Ranger Black Puffs on them for a soft, velvety look. I then adorned my card with some broken pieces of jewelry and other trinkets. The image is Arlette Dorgère, the famous Parisian actress:

Holiday Home

De meesten van jullie zijn denk ik inmiddels al wel bekend met de prachtige afbeeldingen van Nicecrane Designs. Ignacio had me gevraagd om in het Design Team te komen, maar dat zou ik helaas qua tijd (andere DT's en werk) niet gaan redden. Zo lief, want ik mocht een 'permanente guest designer' zijn, wat betekent dat ik iets mag plaatsen wanneer ik wil. Ik kwam deze leuke pipowagen tegen op internet en zou 'm zó in de tuin willen zetten! Maar een miniatuurtje leek me ook wel grappig en heb hem dus in het klein gemaakt met het nieuwe papier van de Action:

Most of you will probably be familiar with the gorgeous images of Nicecrane Designs. I was invited by Ignacio to join the Design Team, but unfortunately I was unable to (due to other DTs and my job). And then Ignacio kindly allowed me to become a 'permanent guest designer', meaning that I can put up something whenever I like or have time. I came across this lovely 'caravan' on the internet and wouldn't mind having it in our backyard!  But I thought a miniature version would look cute, too, so I made a smaller version with new papers from Action:
